I invited two of my favorite diviners, Erin Kelley and Mallory Dowd – both of whom are brilliant tarot readers and intuitives in their own rights. We discussed their relationship with The Wheel of Fortune card: what they think of when this card comes up in personal and client readings, their favorite ways to be with the inevitable changes and surprises in life, and how this archetype might color 2026 energetically. This year, I invited artist and astrologer Mara Smith to discuss the arc of the coming year. 2026 completes the outer planets’ transition into new signs. It also features: * The Saturn-Neptune conjunction, which happens approximately every 36 years. * The nodal axis shifting into Aquarius-Leo * Jupiter moving into Leo Mara and I weaved a unique analysis that divides the year into 3 equal parts, inspired by Mara’s focus on the decans in her practice. Mara Smith is an artist who enjoys playing at the intersections of mythic time, clock time, and synchronicity in mundane reality. An educator by trade and lifelong musician, under the musical project finfeather she blends genres to create a wide variety of songs, many of which are hymns planets, archetypes, and the decans of the tarot. For our last episode in 2025, I decided against my better judgment to go into confessional mode. 2025 was a rude teacher. One who slapped me across the face and then threw the paper I just submitted into the furnace. 2025 resisted my efforts for linear planning and thwarted my plans for maintaining status quo. In the email exchange leading up to our conversation, my guest Kristina Marie wrote "The Hero is Dead." That sentence stopped me in my tracks. It's a suspicion I've had for a while, but maybe there's still a part of me that doesn't want it to be true. "What do you mean? But I love my hero's journey stories!" that part protested.
