A person is a conglomeration of their thoughts; the state of one's mind ultimately determines their destiny. Your mind can be changed no matter how resolved it may be: if you give the enemy access to your mind, he will shift it. If your mind is shifted, it is a dangerous state because you will be convinced that you are right while you are not right. Let us take special care to guard our minds!

What was the sin of Ephesus? Why was Christ's warning to them so fierce? It is because they had settled for less than they were. They had apostatized, which is simply contenting yourself with a lesser standard than you once held. What matters is not that you are operating, but the level on which you are operating. We can deal with every enemy in finality but the devil; we will have to face him until our dying breath. However, the world and the flesh can be mortified completely, and in fact must be. We cannot consistently overcome the devil while also wrestling with those things which ought to be crucified. We must crucify the world and the flesh, and through ceaseless watchfulness and prayer, and by the grace of God, we never once have fall to the devil. Date: 5/22/1991

Your spiritual survival is dependent on whether or not you are being fed. It is the job equipped ministers not just to preach, but to definitely feed God's people. The result of feeding is growth; if you are spiritually growing, it is because you are being spiritually fed. The opposite is also true. Unless you are being sufficiently fed, you will not have the strength to face the foes in this age. Go to any lengths to be sufficiently fed! Your soul depends on it.

God seemed to have already tried Job. Why then would Job say concerning God in the middle of his trial, "when He hath tried me"? It is because God must try us until He that which He is seeking is produced in us. God must refine us until there is nothing inside of us that would even tend in the wrong direction, even under immense and indefinite pressure. Date: 6/26/1988

Blinding, binding, and grinding: these three are common to every soul in sin. The devil first must take away a soul's perception, then he binds them so that they cannot free themselves, then he forces that soul grind in the prison-house of sin. But, praise God, there is a way out! The way out is an earnest and desperate cry to God for help; then God will restore your vision, break the chains, and give rest to your soul! Isn't that a much better prospect, friend? Date: 5/2/1999

Suffering is part of the life of a Christian. Suffering was a part of Christ's life: if we are living like Him, we will get the same results as He did. Suffering is the only way that we can be prepared for heaven. God wants us to make it to heaven, but he cannot let us in if there are things about us that are not heaven-ready; suffering is the only way to remove these things, and therefore God allow us to suffer until He sees that all of the contaminates are out of you. This is why we suffer. Date: 11/8/1981

The church at this hour is facing the greatest challenges it has faced since it began. God's church faced challenges when it began, but they were able to overcome everyone of them while they lived lives of sacrifice; when Gospel and things of the spirit was their life. Only by the same means will we overcome the challenges the church is facing today. Date: Early 1970s (Springfield, OH)

Most people who are taken down by the devil fall because they are not fully aware of who they are up against. Our adversary spends all his time plotting to utterly destroy us; he is a sharpshooter whose gun is always cocked and ready to fire. The way we withstand all of his fiery arrows is by always having the shield of faith lifted up: have no unguarded moments! Date: 9/29/1996

Humans are natural worshippers; everyone is worshipping something in some form. Many people claim to worship God, but true worship of God is rarer than we may realize. True worship is done as much, if not more, outside of a church building as it is inside! This is a message of introspection and realignment: listen carefully to what the Spirit has to say to you through it. Date: 11/15/1981

Nothing can substitute a definite encounter with God. There are things that simply will not change until you make contact with God Himself; and when you do make this contact, it is as undeniable as your very existence! When you have an encounter with God, you are forever a changed individual. Date: 8/21/1983

An example is the last thing God can show a person to try to persuade them. Both in scripture and in our own lives, we see example after example that ought to be clear warning signs. But still, with all of the examples that we have before us, the majority of people fall into the same condition because they do not sufficiently consider them. Let us not follow the present trend! Let us examine what caused others to fall so that we can learn from and avoid their mistakes. Date: 10/31/1982

The strategy if the enemy in these last days is to wear out the people of God. He just wants to keep the pressure on the saints until they break, and unfortunately the devil has had no little success with this strategy over the years. But thank God we do not have to cave under the pressure of the enemy! The way out is to cast every care upon God, one by one; don't let them pile up on you. The devil cannot break you if God is carrying the weight of your load!

Often God does not move in a certain fashion, not because there is a lack of clarity with Him, but because we have allowed ourselves to be comforted with our conditions. If we are going to get God to move like we see in scripture, we must get to a place where we are so troubled about it that we will not be satisfied with anything less! Date: 10/4/1981

If you fully understood what it took God to deliver you from all the spirits that had you bound, you would praise God more than you do now. The devil does not play games; he does not loose a soul until he is absolutely forced. Now, since you have been freed from the bondage of Egypt, you ought to get as far away from it as you can: launch out into the deep in salvation!
