The Midnight Project #230
2026/10/28
Midnighters, I’ll say it before you do: this hour is Drumcode overkill. Eight of the twelve tracks carry the label. No apologies. Drumcode turns 30 this year, and what they’ve put out around ADE is some of the strongest music I’ve heard from them in a long time. When a label is on a run like this, you don’t ration it. You play it. That makes it four weeks of Drumcode spectacle in this show, and I’m fine with that. Next to it you get a stack of exclusives, and, as always, one classic to remind you where all of this comes from. This week you’ll hear A.D.H.S., Kos:mo, Adam Beyer, Layton Giordani, Green Velvet, HNTR, KASIA, Oliver Huntemann, 19:26, Bittermind, Ramon Tapia, DJ Jordan, Space 92, Nicole Moudaber, Joel Mull, Sam Paganini, Christian Smith, John Selway, and we close with Drunken Kong. I’m back from Amsterdam. To every Midnighter who came to find me at Bears on Friday: thank you. Putting faces to the names I see in the comments every Wednesday never gets old. Wherever you’re listening from this week, drop your city in the comments with #TheMidnightProject. And if you know one person who can handle eight Drumcode tracks in one hour, send them this episode. That’s how this community grows, one Midnighter at a time. A new hour every Wednesday, from wherever I am to wherever you are. See you at midnight, Sebastiaan

Midnighters, this one drops on the day ADE opens. Thirty years of Amsterdam Dance Event, five days of the whole city turning into one long night, and the Wednesday hour lands right in the middle of it. Wherever you are, you get this one first. This week you’ll hear Drumsauw, Rich Coote, MarAxe, Black Mode, Adam Beyer, Mark Reeve, Norvis, Oliver Huntemann, Stijn Vandensande, Return Fall, D3RAGON, Sisko Electrofanatik, MCHL51, and we close with Francesco Fontanella. I’ll be in Amsterdam end of the week to meet people, and on Friday 23 October I play Flight Mode at Bears Amsterdam. If you’re a Midnighter in the city this week, come and say hi. I want to put faces to the names I see in the comments every Wednesday. Golden has been out for almost a week now. If it has found its way into your library or your sets, show me. A photo, a clip, one line, anything. You heard it here long before anyone could buy it, so it’s as much yours as mine. Not in Amsterdam? Then tell me where you are. Drop your city in the comments with #TheMidnightProject, and send this hour to one person who needs to hear it. That’s how this community grows, one Midnighter at a time. A new hour every Wednesday, from wherever I am to wherever you are. See you at midnight, Sebastiaan

Midnighters, the Ibiza season is over, but this hour never followed the season anyway. It lands every Wednesday, summer or winter, and every week you’re there for it. That still gets me. This week you’ll hear Filter Science, Michele Conte, Adam Beyer, Mark Reeve, KØBALTT, Danny Fontana, Armian, Annie Hill, Zafer Atabey, A.D.H.S., Anna Tur, Rein (NL), Gonzalo Cavalli, Martin Kinrus, Kevin de Vries, Juan Elvadin, Yoris, Prospa, Cloonee, Slim Black, Belocca, and we close with VYAPI. This Thursday, 15 October, Golden is out. A lot of you heard it on this show weeks before anyone could buy it, so it already feels a little bit yours. If it ends up in your library or in your sets, send me a photo or a video. That’s the kind of message that makes my week. And then Amsterdam. ADE turns 30 this year and opens next Wednesday, 21 October, the same day the next episode drops. I’m gearing up for it, and I’d love to know how many Midnighters will be in the city that week. If you’re going, tell me. Not going? Then tell me where you’re listening from. Drop your city in the comments with #TheMidnightProject. I want to see how far this hour travels. And if there’s one person in your life who should be hearing this, send it to them. That’s how this community grows, one friend at a time. A new hour every Wednesday, through the winter, wherever you are. See you at midnight, Sebastiaan

Midnighters, this week I'm opening the hour with my own track. Golden goes first. You heard it in last week's episode before most people did, and since then, it has kept climbing in the promo lists. Now it has a release date: 15 October on IAMT. The pre-order is open, so if you want it in your collection or your sets the day it lands, this is the moment. Pre-order Golden: https://www.beatport.com/track/golden/30741336 A track only travels when people pass it on, and the same goes for this show. If Golden has stuck with you since last week, send this episode to one friend who should hear it. Then tell me in the comments where you were when it hit you, and tag it #TheMidnightProject so I can find you. On the island it's closing season, but the show keeps going. A new hour every Wednesday, through the winter, wherever you are. See you at midnight, Sebastiaan

Midnighters, a new hour is here. I often wonder where you are when you press play. Some of you have told me you listen on the early commute, some at the gym, some in the kitchen, some late at night in the studio when everything else is quiet. From Amsterdam to Buenos Aires to right here on Ibiza, we're all in different places at different times, but we're listening to the same hour. That's what makes this a community and not just a show. So this week I want to hear from you. Where are you listening right now, and when? Drop it in the comments. Send a photo of your listening spot if you like, and tag it #TheMidnightProject. I'd love to see where these hours end up around the world. And if there's someone in your life who belongs in this community, a gym buddy or a friend who always asks what you're listening to, send them this episode. That's how Midnighters find each other. If you're on the island this Saturday, 3 October, come up to the Tomorrowland Ibiza Rooftop Sessions in Platja d'en Bossa. Groovecreator plays from 20:00 and the guest list is free: https://www.fourvenues.com/vanesa2/events/tomorrowland-ibiza-rooftop-sessions-03-10-2026-WXGT For once, you can listen in the same place at the same time as me. See you next Wednesday, Midnighters.
Groovecreator at The Midnight Project (Burning Man Live Set)
2026/09/26
Midnighters, This one is personal. I've been playing Groovecreator's music for fifteen years. His records have filled countless hours of this show and many nights behind the decks. Bringing him to you as a guest on this bonus episode feels like a full-circle moment. He's sharing something special: a live recording from his set at Playground during Burning Man 2026, captured in Black Rock City. If you couldn't be in the desert this year, this is the closest you'll get to dancing in the dust at sunrise. The set opens with an unreleased Chicago acid track he made with house legend Roy Davis Jr. From there, it takes you through a Led Zeppelin bootleg, a club edit of Radiohead, and Prydz's Pink Floyd rework. Then it lands on "I Feel Love" by Moroder and Donna Summer, the record that arguably started it all. The last stretch builds into peak-time house and techno, ending with Carl Cox's remix of "Talamanca," a nice nod to the man behind Playground. Big thanks to Groovecreator for trusting us with this recording. If it moves you, follow him via https://linktr.ee/Groovecreator and let him know. Nothing means more to an artist than hearing that it landed. Now for the part that makes me happiest. On Saturday, 3 October 2026, Groovecreator joins me on my rooftop at the Tomorrowland Ibiza Rooftop Sessions. After fifteen years of playing his tracks, I'm still letting that sink in. He plays from 20:00 to 21:00, with Rebeca Ark before and after. You'll find us at the Tomorrowland Ibiza Store in the Ibiza Gallery, Platja d'en Bossa. The guest list is free, so bring your crew and sign up here: https://www.fourvenues.com/vanesa2/events/tomorrowland-ibiza-rooftop-sessions-03-10-2026-WXGT If you come because of the show, come find me and say hi. Putting faces to the names I see in the comments every week is the best part of what we've built together. Midnighters, this community grows because of you, so tell me what you think. Which moment got you: the Zeppelin bootleg, "I Feel Love," or that unreleased acid track? If you've been to the Burn, share your best playa memory. Coming to the rooftop? Say so in the comments so we can find each other. Tag a friend who needs this set and share your favourite moment with #TheMidnightProject. The regular show is back on Wednesday. Until then, see you on the dancefloor. Sebastiaan
The Midnight Project #225

The Midnight Project #225Midnighters, There are three Faithless records in this hour. That was not the plan when I started building it. The first one went in, the other two followed, and by the time the hour was finished, it was clear the episode had a spine. We open with "Tarantula" in KASIA's hands. She has had the kind of year on Drumcode that most artists would take a whole career for, and she was the right person to start this one. Khabiar follows with "Monologue" and Cristian Varela on the remix for Tronic, one of the names Spanish techno was built on, still showing up and still doing the work. SUDO comes in next with "Converge" on DCLTD, the darker side of the Drumcode family, and he is back later in the hour with "Origin" on the same label. Two records, one artist, and both of them earned their place on their own. Adam Beyer's remix of "We Come 1" arrives early, and his alternative mix returns further in. He has been carrying this one around all year, Drumsheds and Awakenings among the rooms it has been through, and putting both versions in the same hour is deliberate. Between them sits ADRIANNA's "Shake The Underground" with Tao Andra on the remix for Natura Viva Black, and Tao Andra comes back near the end alongside Sarah de Warren on "Higher" for Arcane. Zafer Atabey takes the middle with "System Fallt" on EXTIMA and "Align" on Natura Viva Black, and Davestorm keeps EXTIMA in the room with "Let the Bass Guide Us." Konrad (Italy) lands "Din Don" on Gain Records, a label that keeps turning up in these hours because that is where the records keep coming from. Simina Grigoriu closes the DCLTD run with "Divine Assignment." The last word belongs to Robert Owens. "My Everything" with Rober V, in a warehouse dub by Groovecreator, who has been working with Robert all year and has the touch for it. Robert has been singing on house records since Chicago invented the form. Ending a techno hour on that voice is the only way I wanted to end this one. One more thing from the island. The Tomorrowland Ibiza staff named me the "Best Artist of the Season" for the 2026 Tomorrowland Residency. Those are the people who work every one of those rooftop nights, who stand at the side of the booth from the first record to the last and hear all of it, week after week. Getting it from them means more to me than any chart position. A good part of what is in this hour was built up there in front of them, and you are hearing it because it worked on that roof first. Full tracklist is on 1001Tracklists as always. One thing before you go. If "We Come 1" meant something to you the first time around, there is someone who was standing next to you when it did. Send them this episode. That is how this show has grown from the start, one person handing it to one person, and it still beats anything an algorithm has done for me. Hit reply and tell me which one hit hardest. I read everything. See you at midnight, Sebastiaan
The Midnight Project #224
2026/09/16
Midnighters, Sixty thousand of you hear this hour on DI.FM every week, and that is before the podcast feeds, Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube and every replay in between. The real number is bigger than I can count, and it grows in one way only. Someone sends the link to a friend on a night shift, someone drops the show in a group chat after a set, someone plays it in the car with the windows down. That has been the whole engine from the start. If the show gave you something this week, pass it to one person. The hour opens on Drumcode with Taste of the Night, the first collaboration between A.D.H.S. and Kos:mo, out on DC4 Vol. 6 last Friday. Sam WOLFE and PETER PAHN came from that same EP last week, so the release is now three records deep in two shows. Victor Ruiz and Modeā follow with Bloom, again on Drumcode, then Zafer Atabey on EXTIMA, the Istanbul label he co-founded. Victor Ruiz returns with Moreira on Arcane Music, and Atlante takes us to twenty minutes, the title track of the Redraft Memories EP on Second State Audio. Gitecdj and Unika DJ land next on BLACKRIFT. The middle is SS Ventura and Mankraft with Ravalon on Shodan Records, a label I know from the inside, then Marco Faraone with Killa on Artcore, Davestorm with the second EXTIMA record of the hour, and Tech Us Out on Orange Recordings. We close with Simina Grigoriu, Layers of Reality on DCLTD, the Heizek remix of Mind from Caméléonx on Dark Fiend Records, and Connect (BR) with Calum Kieran on Sound Dissonance. Every one of those artists is someone in this community can discover for the first time this week. Follow them, buy the records, tell your people where you heard it. Small labels grow on exactly that, and so does this show. Full tracklist is on 1001Tracklists as always. So tell me which track hit hardest, I read everything. See you at midnight, Sebastiaan

Midnighters, episode 223 is here. Sam WOLFE opens the hour with Control Delete on Drumcode, and that label sets the tone for the whole show. Six Drumcode records in sixty minutes, more than I usually give one imprint, but Adam Beyer's A&R has been on a run this year and the selection made the case for itself. After Sam WOLFE I go into Atmos, one of mine, then Gonzalo F with Disconnect, also Drumcode, and Mark Reeve with Everything Done on Monika Kruse's Terminal M. Reeve has been a fixture on both of those labels for years, and it shows in how easily his record sits between them. Les Boys follows, my second track this week, both of them tested on the island this summer. Then Redraft Memories and Spanto with Oculto on Second State Audio, the Pan-Pot label out of Berlin, which gets a long run in the mix because six minutes was what it needed. The middle of the hour belongs to Kaufmann. Easy A and Nuff Said, back to back, both on Drumcode. I did not want to split them. PETER PAHN keeps the Drumcode thread going with NOCTURE before Sheik (AR) brings Needed You on Sound Dissonance Publishing. From there the back half opens up. Jay Lumen with Dance4Life on Arcane Music, then Carlo Lio and M.I.T.A. together on Intec, Carl Cox's label and one that has been part of this show since the earliest episodes. Rødhåd's remix of Edge Runner by Ø [Phase] on Modwerks comes next, two Berlin names who have each shaped the harder end of techno for well over a decade and rarely appear on the same record. Slim Black closes with Acid Source on Hyggelit Records. Full tracklist is on 1001Tracklists as always. Tell me which one hit hardest. I read everything, and it is how I build these sets. See you at midnight, Sebastiaan
The Midnight Project #222

Midnighters, thank you for another week of showing up. Here is where the hour goes. It opens with something that is five days old. Zafer Atabey's Keep It Going landed on TRAGEDIE on 28 August, built by the Turkish producer who co-runs EXTIMA, and it does exactly what the title promises. Rino Cerrone follows with Afterglow, Italian discipline, no wasted parts. Then Avision with How We Do It, a Suara cut from his Simple Things EP. Anthony Cardinale has been quietly carrying the New York techno flag for years and this one still hits like it was made last month. The middle of the hour is where I had the most fun building. Cirez D's On Off is the one throwback here, Eric Prydz in his techno skin on his own Mouseville imprint, and nothing has aged about it. Marco Bailey follows with Full Steam on COD3 QR, which is the label Laurent Garnier runs with Oliver Way. That makes two Garnier connections in twenty minutes, because Garnier is also the one who pulled the Avision track into his fabric presents compilation. Not planned, but I noticed it while I was mixing and left it in. Then Mescaline. 1200 Micrograms wrote it as psytrance and Victor Ruiz and Alex Stein rebuilt it for VOLTA. It came out on 27 August and it is already sitting near the top of the Beatport peak time chart. Psytrance DNA, techno chassis, and it works on a rooftop at sunset better than it has any right to. From there we stay heavy. Belocca's Human Construct on Mainground Music brings the tension down and the weight up, Nikoretti's Beyond the Edge keeps it moving, and Devid Dega's Want You Back arrives on Second State, which is still one of the most consistent rooms in techno. Sisko Electrofanatik and Alex Micca close that stretch with Anairod on Off Recordings. The last quarter is the payoff. Alan Fitzpatrick's Zero Compliance mix of We Do What We Want on We Are The Brave is his own label and his own statement, and the title does not need my help. Franco Smith's Anthem on Natura Viva is exactly what the name says. And we finish with Marie Vaunt and Space 92, Go Go Go on TAKEOFF, because sometimes the last three minutes just need to run. The Midnight Project lands every week, same time, same place. No gaps, no reruns, 222 episodes and counting, and a community of Midnighters that keeps growing because you pass the show on to people who get it. Follow on your platform of choice and the new hour just shows up. Tell me which track hit hardest. I read everything, and that is genuinely how I build these sets. See you at midnight, Sebastiaan

Midnighters, The rooftop session at Tomorrowland was last night. Thank you to everyone who came up. That crowd made the last hour of the night feel like the room was playing itself, and a good part of what you hear this week is what worked up there while it was still warm. We open on Drumcode. Volkoder and Korolova with "Waiting For You" sets the temperature straight away, no ceremony, just the pull. Tim Kollberg follows on Gain Records with "Pleasure State," which is one of four Gain records in this episode. That was not a plan. It is just where the good stuff kept landing this month. Then something a little sideways. Victor Ruiz took Liquid Soul and Captain Hook and pulled "Liquid Hook" out of psy territory and into something with real floor weight. It is the widest moment in the first half and it earns its place. "Retriever" sits at fifteen minutes in. My own, named after the dog most of you have already met on Instagram. It has been in every set since I finished it and it keeps doing the same thing to a room, so it stays. The middle of the show is where the groove takes over. Sisko Electrofanatik and Katerino go straight for the low end. Devid Dega on Second State brings the kind of old school devotion the title promises, and Jil Tanner keeps the pressure honest without ever raising her voice. Monika Kruse's "Morgana" in Patrik Berg's hands is the moment I would point a new listener to. It breathes. From Norvis onward it climbs. Jay Lumen's "Dance4Life" on Arcane is unapologetic peak time, digi.codes answers it with something colder and sharper, and Melvin Spix with TimeKube strip it back to exactly what is needed. That strip-back is the part I care most about. Give people less and they lean in. Procombo's "Unknown Force B" is the last hard turn before Franco Smith closes it out with "Anthem" on Natura Viva. Big title, and it holds up. Full tracklist is on 1001Tracklists as always. Hit review and tell me which one hit hardest. I read everything. See you at midnight, Sebastiaan
The Midnight Project #220

Midnighters, Episode 220 is here, and this one moves with purpose. We open deep and hypnotic, then build steadily into the kind of driving groove that defines the peak hours. Along the way there is a proper surprise: a remastered take on a nineties classic that some of you will recognise from the very first bars. Hearing it reworked with today's production standards, sitting comfortably next to brand new records, reminds me why this music keeps pulling us back. The second half leans harder. Rolling percussion, big rooms, open eyes. If you are listening on a Wednesday night drive or deep into a late session, this stretch is for you. Thank you for being here every week. Two hundred and twenty episodes only happens because you keep showing up. See you on the dance floor. Sebastiaan
The Midnight Project #219
2026/08/12
Midnighters, this hour is for you. Last week you showed up in numbers that still make me smile, and the best way I know to say thank you is to raise the bar again. So this week we go deep into Drumcode territory. Pan-Pot's Diamonds Head sets the pace on Mobilee, then Adam Beyer takes over the first quarter of the hour twice in a row. Alto with Layton Giordani is rave kissed and written in a major key, built from the same vocal source as The Orb's Little Fluffy Clouds, and Let Loose with DJ Jock keeps that Drumcode drive rolling straight into Freak Your Mind on Truesoul. Around the halfway point, I slipped in one of my own. Retriever is my new track, named after the four-legged member of this household, and it sits between the warm groove of Chemistry by Dhuna and Pablo Say and the low-end pressure of Feel My Bass. From there, Jay Lumen and DJ Jordan push the tempo before 6 SENSE tells you exactly what to do with Say It. The final stretch goes big. Free My Soul, the brand new collaboration between Vini Vici, Space 92 and CERES on Armada, dropped only days ago and already feels like a festival closer. Psytrance energy, techno drums, one soaring vocal. I follow it with the Olly James rework of Cosmic Gate's Exploration Of Space, a classic reborn, then land the hour with Disco Move and Strange Days. The Midnight Project lands every week, same time, same place. No gaps, no reruns, over 200 episodes and counting, and a community of Midnighters that keeps growing because you share the show with people who get it. Follow on your favorite platform and the new hour just shows up. If one track in this episode moves you, tell me which one. I read everything, and that is how I build these sets. Sebastiaan
The Midnight Project #218
2026/08/05
Midnighters, last week I told you we are bringing the groove back to Ibiza. Then Friday happened. The rooftop filled up, the sun went down over Playa d'en Bossa, and a lot of you told me you came through the show. That is the whole point of this project, and episode 218 picks up exactly where that night left off. We open with Per Hammar's "Shuriken" on Natura Viva Black. Sharp, stripped, straight into the pocket. Yes, that label again. Three weeks running now they have earned a spot in the show, and this one shows why. Victor Ruiz and Kaufmann follow with "Don't Mess With Us" on VOLTA, a collaboration that sounds exactly as confident as the title suggests. The middle of the hour is where it gets physical. JLuna's "Emergency SEQ," Teenage Mutants' "Conflicted Mind," and A.D.H.S. back for the second week in a row, this time with "Eos" on DCLTD. Then Pan-Pot land "Futoreno" on Second State, and right after it comes my favorite moment of the episode: Mark Broom's remix of "Tropical Melons" by 2000 And One on Rekids. A Dutch classic, rebuilt by one of the UK's finest. I have loved this record since my Amsterdam years, and hearing it come back around like this made my week. The back half runs from the YellowHeads' peak mode "Reboot.exe" into Giorgia Angiuli's "Light" on Terminal M, the melodic breath of the hour. Ilona Maras keeps it honest with "Don't Pretend," and JSPR closes on We Are The Brave with "Japan Air." Full track IDs are on 1001Tracklists, as always. Hit reply and tell me which track hit hardest. I read everything. And if you are on the island: I am back on the rooftop next Friday for Tomorrowland Rooftop Sessions Ibiza. Same foundation as this show. Groove first, sunset into darkness, no filler. Episode 218 is your warm-up. Sebastiaan
The Midnight Project #217
2026/07/29
Midnighters, this one is built on groove. It is late July on the island. The nights barely cool down and everything I play out here lately has that rolling, physical quality. Episode 217 came together with that in mind. We open with a KASIA double: "No Competition" with Equinøx on Arcane, then "The Realm," her Drumcode collaboration with Layton Giordani. After that it breathes. Pablo Say's "I'm a Dreamer" is the melodic moment of the hour. If you write in about one track this week, my money is on this one. Then the groove takes over. A.D.H.S. on DCLTD, RHAPSODIE's "Void," and a middle stretch with four Natura Viva Black records, the second week running the label lands that many in the show. Pig&Dan's "Aptitude" is my pick of the four. Play this section loud. Monika Kruse's "Latex" on Terminal M anchors the back half, KENZ's "Blade" brings the Drumcode peak, and JJ Mullor and Gombok Project close with "Grooveaholic." Fitting title. Full track IDs are on 1001Tracklists, as always. Hit reply and tell me which track hit hardest. I read everything. And if you are on the island this week: I am playing Friday at Tomorrowland Rooftop Sessions Ibiza. This is the music from the show, played live, open air, sunset into night. Come say hi. Sebastiaan
