CFB Week 8 BEST BETS: 5 Teams on UPSET ALERT, Tennessee-South Carolina & Texas-Ole Miss
2026/10/22
College Football's fastest-rising analyst William Patteson is joined by professional College Football handicapper John Hodge, better known as “The Sheik” and “Haji,” as The Coverboys break down the Week 8 College Football betting slate with their favorite picks, betting trends, system plays and potential upsets across the country. Coming off their most profitable week of the season, the guys enter Week 8 with a combined +39 units and plenty of opportunities to build on their momentum. The guys begin with No. 7 Ole Miss traveling to Austin to face No. 19 Texas, where the Longhorns are favored despite consecutive losses and growing criticism surrounding Steve Sarkisian and Arch Manning. With nearly 80% of the betting action backing Ole Miss, Hodge explains why he is fading the public and backing Texas in a matchup featuring two offenses capable of putting up points. Attention then turns toward No. 11 Tennessee at South Carolina, where the unranked Gamecocks enter as favorites over a Volunteers team fresh off its emotional victory against Alabama. The guys examine Tennessee's potential letdown spot, South Carolina's dominant performance against Florida and the betting systems that could make this one of Saturday's most intriguing matchups. From there, The Coverboys dive into No. 2 BYU at UCF, No. 14 Houston at No. 10 Utah, No. 18 LSU at Auburn and No. 6 Indiana at Michigan, identifying opportunities against the spread and examining how situational trends, public betting action and recent results could influence the outcomes. With BYU undefeated both straight up and against the spread, could UCF deliver one of the biggest upsets of the weekend? Hodge also reveals several of his strongest system plays, including UCF as a home underdog, South Carolina against Tennessee, Iowa State at Arizona and Texas against Ole Miss. The guys discuss why multiple ranked road favorites could be in trouble and which underdogs present the best opportunities heading into Saturday. Additional matchups include Texas Tech at Cincinnati, Iowa at Minnesota, Texas A&M at Alabama, USC at Wisconsin, Vanderbilt at Kentucky and UMass at UConn, as the guys evaluate betting splits, situational advantages and potential surprises across the country. With at least one top-10 team losing every week this season, 11 top-10 losses already recorded and seven ranked road favorites facing unranked opponents, The Coverboys have five teams on upset alert as another chaotic Saturday approaches.Subscribe for weekly College Football betting breakdowns, best bets, live betting strategies and the trends that matter most. Meet Tiki: Sports' Newest Viral Star | Chasing IShowSpeed, World Cup BOOM & His CFB RV Tour
2026/10/21
College football's fastest-rising analyst William Patteson sits down with viral content creator Tiki (@TikiBeen1) to discuss his incredible journey from sleeping in his car while chasing IShowSpeed to generating over 300 MILLION views during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, becoming an unexpected celebrity among Moroccan soccer fans, and now traveling across America for his Friday, Saturday, Sunday (FSS) football tour. A Notre Dame graduate with deep family ties to the Fighting Irish, Tiki originally studied finance before realizing that a traditional career wasn't for him. His journey into content creation began with a viral moment following Notre Dame's 2023 victory over USC, when he became the voice behind the unforgettable "Show me your nails, bro!" video. But that was only the beginning. Tiki discusses how he started building his following by tracking down popular streamer IShowSpeed, including a 32-day stretch of sleeping in his car while following Speed across the country. That relentless pursuit eventually helped launch his career into another stratosphere. During the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Tiki became one of the internet's most recognizable Morocco supporters, generating more than 300 million views and gaining over 150,000 followers. From traveling the country in an RV supporting Morocco to visiting the country itself, Tiki shares how an unexpected connection with Moroccan soccer turned into one of the biggest opportunities of his life. Now, Tiki has turned his attention back to football. Through his latest project, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (FSS), Tiki is traveling across America in a custom-wrapped RV provided by Camping World, attending a high school football game on Friday, a college football game on Saturday, and an NFL game on Sunday. With plans to continue the journey through the College Football Playoff National Championship, Tiki has already found himself at the center of several viral moments, including the Ella Langley video and his appearance as a Notre Dame fan at College GameDay in Alabama. William and Tiki discuss the realities of becoming a full-time content creator, the sacrifices required to build an audience, the importance of taking risks, and what the future holds for one of the fastest-rising personalities in sports content. And, of course, we put his football knowledge to the test with some Notre Dame and college football trivia. Follow The PatteFacts: A College Football Show wherever you get your content! The guys begin by breaking down a historic weekend in the War Room, where their six strongest plays went a perfect 6-0. From there, The Coverboys shift their focus toward Week 8, beginning with No. 7 Ole Miss traveling to Texas, where the Longhorns enter as favorites despite consecutive losses. The guys discuss the mounting pressure in Austin, the Rebels' playoff outlook and whether Texas can avoid another disappointing result. The guys also examine No. 11 Tennessee's dangerous road trip to South Carolina, where the unranked Gamecocks are favored despite the Volunteers' victory over Alabama. With Tennessee coming off an emotional rivalry win and South Carolina fresh off a dominant performance against Florida, could the Vols be walking into a classic letdown spot? CFB WEEK 6 TAKEAWAYS: Georgia SURVIVES Alabama, UCLA STUNS Oregon & Oklahoma SHOCKS Texas
2026/10/12
College Football's fastest-rising analyst William Patteson breaks down a chaotic Week 6 of the 2026 College Football season, featuring massive upsets, top-10 showdowns, fourth-quarter comebacks and several results that could shake up the College Football Playoff picture. The action starts in Tuscaloosa, where No. 2 Georgia remained undefeated with a 20-17 victory over No. 6 Alabama. Kirby Smart earned his first regular-season win over the Crimson Tide, while the Bulldogs picked up their first victory in Tuscaloosa since 2007. Patteson breaks down Georgia's late-game execution, Alabama's offensive struggles and what the result means for both SEC contenders moving forward. Attention then turns toward Eugene, where No. 21 UCLA pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the season with a 17-15 victory over No. 13 Oregon. Bob Chesney's Bruins forced seven turnovers, held an Oregon offense averaging over 500 yards per game to just 272 and survived two late two-point conversion attempts to escape with the win. From there, Patteson heads to Dallas for another unforgettable Red River Rivalry, as Oklahoma stunned No. 1 Texas, 27-24, on Tate Sandell's 47-yard field goal as time expired. Despite being held to just 238 yards of offense, the Sooners used defensive and special teams touchdowns to knock off the nation's top-ranked team. The Week 6 breakdown continues in Lincoln, where No. 7 Indiana erased an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit against Nebraska to extend its winning streak to 22 games. Patteson examines the Hoosiers' remarkable comeback, Nick Marsh's explosive performance and a bizarre statistical matchup that saw Nebraska dominate time of possession and total plays but still come away with a loss. In Lexington, Kentucky delivered another massive SEC upset, taking down No. 10 LSU, 35-34, in overtime. First-year head coach Will Stein improved to 5-1 as Kenneth Minchey's game-winning two-point conversion sent Wildcats fans storming the field and handed Lane Kiffin another frustrating loss. Patteson also breaks down South Carolina's dominant 38-19 victory over No. 16 Florida, highlighted by LaNorris Sellers accounting for five touchdowns, before turning toward No. 15 Tennessee's 24-17 road victory over Arkansas. DeSean Bishop rushed for 138 yards and delivered the go-ahead touchdown as the Volunteers escaped Fayetteville. The show wraps up with No. 19 USC spoiling Penn State's record-setting White Out in front of 114,419 fans at Beaver Stadium and No. 20 Iowa's impressive 41-24 road victory over Washington, where Kamari Moulton rushed for 208 yards and two touchdowns. With undefeated teams falling, conference races tightening and the College Football Playoff picture beginning to take shape, Patteson gives his biggest takeaways from another wild Saturday across the country. 2026/10/08
College Football's fastest-rising analyst William Patteson is joined by Professional College Football Handicapper John Hodge, better known as “The Sheik” and “Haji,” as The Coverboys break down the Week 6 College Football betting slate with their favorite picks, trends, Concept plays and situational spots across the country. With five weeks of results providing a clearer picture of the College Football landscape, Hodge continues to rely on the betting systems and situational trends that have made him a successful handicapper. The guys examine public betting percentages, line movement, ranked teams in difficult road environments and potential letdown spots before identifying some of the most intriguing opportunities on the Week 6 board. Patteson and The Sheik begin with one of the biggest games of the College Football season as No. 2 Georgia travels to Tuscaloosa to face undefeated Alabama. Both teams enter the matchup at 5-0 with identical 4-1 records against the spread, setting up a massive SEC showdown between two national championship contenders. The guys examine the quarterback matchup between Keelon Russell and Gunner Stockton, the historical trends surrounding Kirby Smart and Kalen DeBoer, and how the weather could impact the total. The 30-9 CFB Betting Trend You NEED to Know + Week 5 Betting Recap
2026/10/06
The Coverboys are back to recap a wild Week 5 of college football betting and turn the page toward a loaded Week 6 slate. William Patteson and professional college football handicapper John Hodge break down the good, the bad and the best from the weekend — including Houston’s brutal half-point miss, why live betting continues to be such an important part of Hodge’s approach and Tennessee making a quarterback change in its win over Auburn. The guys also dive into South Carolina blowing a 17-0 lead, Michigan’s loss to Minnesota, why fading BYU continues to be a mistake and several War Room trends that delivered again in Week 5. But the biggest trend might be the best one The Coverboys have found yet: teams entering Week 5 at least two games worse ATS than their opponent went 10-2 ATS this season. That same trend is now an absurd 30-9 ATS over the last three seasons in Week 5. Now attention turns to Week 6, with 16 games qualifying for that trend and another 10 potential look-ahead or sandwich spots on Saturday. Plus, an early look at Georgia-Alabama, Texas-Oklahoma, Indiana-Nebraska, UCLA-Oregon, USC-Penn State, LSU-Kentucky, Texas A&M-Missouri and more. And on Thursday’s show, Hodge will unveil his first official “Right Side” of the 2026 season — coming from the ACC. Follow The PatteFacts: A College Football Show wherever you get your content! Week 5 CFB Takeaways: Alabama Rolls, Mizzou STUNS Florida, Jeremiah Smith Takes Over & Tennessee's QB Change
2026/10/05
College Football's fastest-rising analyst William Patteson is back on The PatteFacts: A College Football Show to break down a wild Week 5 across College Football, featuring statement wins, major upsets and some big questions emerging around the country. Patteson starts in Starkville, where No. 7 Alabama rolled past No. 16 Mississippi State 56-23. Keelon Russell accounted for 301 total yards and four touchdowns as the Crimson Tide forced four turnovers and improved to 5-0. From there, the attention shifts to Iowa City, where No. 5 Ohio State handled No. 14 Iowa 31-14. Jeremiah Smith took over with 11 catches for 206 yards and two touchdowns as the Buckeyes controlled the game from start to finish. Then comes one of the biggest results of the weekend. One week after beating Ole Miss and climbing to No. 8, Florida was destroyed 45-17 by No. 25 Missouri. Austin Simmons threw for 340 yards, Jamal Roberts ran for 211 and the Tigers scored 35 unanswered points. Patteson then heads to Knoxville, where No. 17 Tennessee beat Auburn 24-14 but made a major change at quarterback. Josh Heupel turned from Faizon Brandon to George MacIntyre, while DeSean Bishop carried the Vols with 220 rushing yards and three touchdowns. The show continues with No. 4 Miami dominating Clemson 41-13 in Death Valley, Kentucky erasing a 17-point deficit to stun South Carolina 35-34 in overtime and Minnesota taking back the Little Brown Jug with a 20-14 upset of Michigan. The Week 5 recap finishes at New Ryan Field, where Northwestern stunned Penn State 34-13 behind an incredible 413 rushing yards. CFB Week 5 Best Bets - Is Alabama in TROUBLE at Mississippi State?
2026/10/01
The fastest-rising college football analyst William Patteson is joined by professional college football handicapper John “The Sheik” Hodge to break down the biggest games, weirdest lines, betting splits, situational spots and potential traps across the country. The guys start with No. 5 Ohio State heading into Kinnick Stadium to face undefeated No. 14 Iowa with College GameDay in town for the first time in 20 years. Can the Hawkeyes drag the Buckeyes into an ugly, low-scoring game, or does Ohio State continue rolling? In the SEC, undefeated Mississippi State gets its biggest test yet with No. 7 Alabama coming to Starkville, while No. 8 Florida travels to No. 25 Missouri as just a 5.5-point favorite despite the Gators leading the nation in scoring. Is that suspicious line telling us something? William and Hodge also dive into Auburn-Tennessee following the Vols’ emotional loss to No. 1 Texas, Washington-USC after both teams suffered their first losses of the season, Vanderbilt catching more than three touchdowns at Georgia, BYU-TCU, Cincinnati-Arizona, UCF-Houston and much more. Plus, why an unranked South Carolina team being favored over No. 24 Kentucky could provide one of the strangest — and most interesting — betting spots of the entire weekend. Texas-Tennessee RIGHT SIDE + CFB Week 4 Picks, Trends & Betting Concepts - The Coverboys
2026/09/24
College Football's fastest-rising analyst William Patteson is joined by Professional College Football Handicapper John Hodge, better known as “The Sheik” and “Haji,” as The Coverboys break down the Week 4 College Football betting slate with their favorite picks, trends, Concept plays and situational spots across the country. The guys start with some of Hodge's biggest betting concepts entering the weekend, including undefeated home underdogs, teams coming off outright wins as underdogs, Three Time Zone Travelers and a trend that has seen matchups between two 3-0 teams go 14-7 to the Under over the last four years. Hodge also introduces Yards Per Play as one of his favorite metrics for comparing teams as schedules begin to ramp up. Attention then turns toward the biggest game of the weekend, as No. 1 Texas travels to Knoxville to take on No. 14 Tennessee. Patteson and Hodge break down the matchup, Tennessee's chances as a home underdog, Faizon Brandon facing the Texas defense and whether the Vols can pull off their first win over the No. 1 team in College Football since 1985. From there, The Coverboys dive into No. 17 Iowa-No. 18 Michigan and its extremely low total before turning toward No. 4 Ole Miss traveling to No. 21 Florida. The Rebels enter Gainesville fresh off an emotional win over LSU, but find themselves as 3.5-point underdogs against a Florida team averaging 7.7 yards per play. The guys also break down Texas A&M traveling to Death Valley for a night game against No. 10 LSU, No. 20 Oregon entering the Coliseum as a road favorite against undefeated No. 12 USC and another interesting ranked matchup between Missouri and Mississippi State. The Week 4 breakdown continues with Oklahoma-Georgia, South Carolina-Alabama, Notre Dame-Purdue and several other spots across the country as The Coverboys search for the best betting opportunities on a loaded Saturday slate. CFB Week 3 Recap + Week 4 Lines: What Does Vegas Know About Ole Miss-Florida & Texas-Tennessee?
2026/09/22
The Coverboys are back after another profitable weekend to recap Week 3 and break down the opening lines for a loaded Week 4 college football slate. William Patteson and professional college football handicapper John Hodge went 6-3 on consensus picks, while William finished 5-2-1 on his card. Hodge went 17-9 overall, including 11 live wagers, as the Coverboys War Room continues to produce opportunities throughout Saturdays. The live chat is proving profitable, too. One member of the War Room who rarely plays live bets went 3-0 on his three wagers, while some of the group also cashed a same-game parlay Thursday night. The Westgate SuperContest entries are climbing the standings after back-to-back 6-1 weeks. Entry No. 1 sits at 12-9 and jumped 299 spots from T432 to T133, while Entry No. 2 improved to 14-7 and climbed 92 spots from T118 to T26. With 778 entries in the field, the second entry is now within striking distance of the money. The guys also react to everything that happened in Week 3. Mississippi State and Kamario “Kart” Taylor continue to look like the real deal. Will Hammond and Texas Tech picked up a crucial win over Houston. NC State has to figure out how to respond after a stunning loss at Vanderbilt. Florida made a statement against Auburn. Lincoln Riley fell to 4-17 ATS in true road games at USC despite another straight-up win. And Ole Miss delivered a truckload of karma to Lane Kiffin in his return to Oxford. Then it’s time to turn the page to Week 4. After only five ranked matchups across the first three weeks of the season, Week 4 gives us SIX, including four in the SEC and two in the Big Ten. No. 1 Texas heads to Knoxville as a 5.5-point favorite against No. 14 Tennessee. No. 17 Iowa visits No. 18 Michigan with a total sitting at just 37.5. No. 4 Ole Miss has to regroup after an emotional win over LSU as the Rebels travel to No. 21 Florida, where the lower-ranked Gators opened as more than a field-goal favorite. Texas A&M travels to Death Valley for a night game against LSU with the Tigers laying more than a touchdown. Oregon is somehow a three-point road favorite at USC despite already suffering a loss this season. And undefeated Missouri heads to Starkville, where undefeated Mississippi State is laying 6.5. One trend immediately stands out: Matchups between 3-0 teams are 14-7 to the UNDER over the last four years. Five games qualify this week: Texas at Tennessee — 55.5Iowa at Michigan — 37.5Ole Miss at Florida — 60.5Kansas State at Cincinnati — 53.5Missouri at Mississippi State — 58.5 Plus, the guys take an early look at Oklahoma traveling to Georgia with the Bulldogs laying 13.5 and a low total of 43.5, South Alabama at Kentucky, and the rest of the Week 4 board. Week 3 is in the books. The preseason mismatches are mostly behind us. A quarter of the regular season is already gone. Now the board gets serious. Patteson starts in Oxford, where No. 8 Ole Miss sent Lane Kiffin home with a 32-24 loss in his first game back at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Trinidad Chambliss threw for 363 yards and accounted for three touchdowns as the Rebels survived LSU's second-half comeback and Pete Golding picked up another massive win for the program. From there, the attention shifts to College Station, where Kentucky stunned No. 9 Texas A&M 31-21. Will Stein picked up his first signature victory as Kentucky's head coach behind an impressive performance from Kenny Minchey, while the Aggies once again raised questions about where they actually belong in the SEC picture. Then comes Oklahoma. The No. 24 Sooners survived New Mexico 14-6 at home, but the offense continued to struggle one week after losing at Michigan. Oklahoma managed just 299 total yards, heard boos from its own crowd and now enters SEC play with major questions surrounding John Mateer and the offense. Patteson then heads to Louisville, where the Cardinals won a seven-lead-change battle against No. 16 SMU. Louisville ran for 265 yards, Keyjuan Brown went for 163 and two touchdowns and the Cardinals forced three turnovers without committing one of their own. The show continues with Florida's 44-39 win at Auburn as Jon Sumrall passed his first SEC road test. Jadan Baugh ran for 162 yards and three touchdowns, while the Gators piled up 495 yards of offense and won at Auburn for the first time since 1999. Then there was one of the craziest endings you will ever see. NC State had the lead and the football in the final seconds against Vanderbilt before an attempted intentional safety turned into a fumble in the end zone and a Commodores touchdown as time expired. Vanderbilt completed the comeback from 17 points down to win 35-31.Mississippi State is officially 3-0, and Kamario Taylor continues to look like one of the emerging young stars in the SEC. The Bulldogs erased a 16-0 deficit at South Carolina, scored on five consecutive drives during their comeback and left Columbia with a 41-34 win behind four touchdown passes from Taylor. Patteson also breaks down Alabama's wild 50-36 win over Florida State. The Seminoles jumped out to a 21-6 lead before Keelon Russell and Alabama completely took over, with the Crimson Tide eventually scoring on nine consecutive possessions. The Week 3 recap finishes with Rich Rodriguez and West Virginia moving to 3-0 after upsetting No. 25 Virginia 38-27. Michael Hawkins Jr. accounted for all five Mountaineer touchdowns and 313 total yards as West Virginia picked up its biggest win of the young season. Week 2 BETTING RECAP + Week 3 Early Lines: LSU-Ole Miss & Home Dogs Keep CASHING
2026/09/15
College Football's fastest-rising analyst William Patteson is joined by Professional College Football Handicapper John Hodge, better known as “The Sheik” and “Haji,” as The Coverboys recap a wild Week 2 before turning their attention toward the first betting angles developing for Week 3. Patteson starts by revisiting some of the predictions from The Coverboys' preseason preview. Texas delivered against Ohio State after Patteson picked the Longhorns to win the game and make the College Football Playoff, while the Buckeyes now face plenty of tests after blowing a 20-point fourth-quarter lead in Austin. The guys then discuss what went wrong for Oklahoma and Oregon in their road losses and why both teams suddenly have significantly less room for error. Patteson also explains why he still isn't buying Texas A&M despite the Aggies' 48-20 win over Arizona State. Hodge takes a look back at some of the biggest situational results from Week 2. West Coast teams playing at Noon ET went 0-3 ATS, teams in look-ahead spots finished 3-5 ATS and home underdogs delivered another strong weekend at 8-4 ATS with four outright victories. From there, The Coverboys turn the page to Week 3, where another massive group of home underdogs and 12 potential look-ahead spots give Haji plenty of situations to monitor as the lines move throughout the week. The early Week 3 breakdown is headlined by No. 7 LSU traveling to Oxford for a loaded matchup with No. 8 Ole Miss. Patteson and Hodge discuss all of the storylines surrounding the Rebels and Tigers before moving through several other games already drawing their attention. The guys take an early look at No. 22 Houston-No. 13 Texas Tech, No. 2 Georgia's first road game at Arkansas and an Oklahoma team laying more than three touchdowns against New Mexico while sitting directly between Michigan and Georgia on its schedule. The episode winds down with No. 16 SMU traveling to No. 23 Louisville, North Carolina-Clemson and Michigan State's first road test of the season under the lights at No. 3 Notre Dame.
