Coping With Body Changes in Eating Disorder Recovery and Beyond
2026/02/03
In today’s episode, we’re talking about body changes in eating disorder recovery — the ones no one really prepares you for. The physical shifts, the emotional reactions, and the moments where your body feels unfamiliar or hard to sit with. If you’re struggling with how your body is changing, you’re not doing recovery wrong. This part is hard. In this episode, I talk honestly about why body changes happen, why they can feel so confronting even when you know recovery is the right thing, and how to cope when your thoughts feel loud. We’ll explore ways to stay grounded, reduce body focus, and build tolerance for discomfort without trying to rush acceptance. You don’t have to love your body to recover. You just have to keep showing up for yourself with a bit of kindness and patience. This episode is here to remind you that you’re not alone in this, and that body changes are a sign of healing, not failure. Let me know your thoughts! Recovery in Real Life: Eating Disorder Recovery When Life Is Busy
2026/01/27
In today’s episode, we’re talking about recovery in real life — not the quiet, perfectly planned version, but the messy, busy, full one. The one with work deadlines, family stuff, social plans, tired days, and not enough hours in the day. We’ll talk about how eating disorder recovery can still be possible when your schedule feels packed, why waiting for the perfect time often keeps you stuck, and how to prioritise nourishment and care without doing it perfectly. This is about letting recovery fit into your life, not the other way around. Small steps. Imperfect days. And choosing yourself even when it feels inconvenient. You’re allowed to recover while life keeps happening. Let me know your thoughts! The Relationship Between Money and Eating Disorders
2026/01/20
In today’s episode, we’re talking about something that doesn’t get enough airtime in recovery — money. How eating disorders can shape the way you spend, save, restrict, or feel anxious around money. And how those patterns often stick around, even when food feels a bit more stable. We’ll chat about why eating disorders and money control are so closely linked, how fear and scarcity can show up in spending habits, and why recovery isn’t just about food — it’s about safety, trust, and self-worth too. I’ll also share some reflections from my own experience, because this is something I’ve had to unpick myself. If you’ve ever felt guilty spending money on food, support, or yourself, or noticed that financial control feels tied to your eating disorder, this episode will help you feel less alone.  Let me know your thoughts! “Too Old to Recover?” Navigating Eating Disorder Recovery Later in Life
2026/01/13
Welcome to the first episode of 2026. I wanted to start the year with a conversation that really matters. Today we’re talking about the belief that you might be “too old” to recover from an eating disorder. Maybe you’ve been struggling for years. Maybe decades. Maybe part of you wonders if this is just how life is now. If you’ve ever felt embarrassed for still struggling, or told yourself you should be over this by now, this episode is for you. We’ll talk honestly about why this belief shows up, how age and time in an eating disorder don’t take away your right to heal, and what recovery can actually look like later in life. It’s not about doing recovery perfectly or starting from scratch. It’s about choosing yourself, wherever you are, and allowing things to be different. You’re not behind. You haven’t missed your chance. And it’s never too late to build a life that feels freer and more peaceful around food and your body. I’m really glad you’re here, let's start 2026 with positive recovery vibes! Let me know your thoughts! Tired of Recovery: How to Keep Going When You’re Exhausted
2025/12/30
This episode is for the days when recovery feels heavy. When you’re doing all the right things and still feel worn down, fed up, or just wondering how much longer you can keep this up. If you’re tired of thinking about food, tired of challenging thoughts, tired of needing support… you’re not alone. In this episode, I’m talking honestly about recovery fatigue. Why it happens, why it doesn’t mean you’re failing, and how to keep going when your energy is low and your motivation has dipped. We’ll talk about slowing the pace without giving up, finding steadiness instead of pushing harder, and reminding yourself why you started when things feel endless. This is also the final episode of 2025, and it felt right to end the year with something real and grounding. Recovery isn’t about powering through at all costs. Sometimes it’s about resting, regrouping, and choosing to stay, even when you’re exhausted. Sending positive thoughts into the New Year... we got this team! Let me know your thoughts! Pregnancy, Body Changes, and Eating Disorder Recovery: What No One Tells You
2025/12/17
In today’s episode, we’re talking honestly about pregnancy, body changes, and eating disorder recovery. This is the stuff that often gets brushed over. The emotions, the fear, the identity shifts, and the old thoughts that can resurface when your body starts changing in ways you can’t control. I’m sharing what it’s really like navigating pregnancy when you have a history of an eating disorder. The good parts, the hard parts, and the very human moments in between. We’ll talk about why body image can feel extra loud, why struggling doesn’t mean you’re failing, and how recovery can deepen during this season rather than disappear.  If you’re pregnant, trying to conceive, or simply scared of what pregnancy might bring up because of your past with food and your body, this episode is for you. You’re not broken for finding this hard. And you’re definitely not alone. Let me know your thoughts! How to Cope with Food Guilt During the Festive Season
2025/12/09
In today’s episode , we’re talking about something that so many people in recovery struggle with this time of year — the DREADED food guilt. The festive season brings a lot of joy, but it also brings bigger meals, different foods, family gatherings, and loads of mixed emotions. If you’ve been feeling guilty, overwhelmed, or “out of control” around food during the holidays, you’re not alone at all. In this episode, we’ll chat about why food guilt shows up so strongly during the festive season, how diet culture makes it even louder, and what you can do to ground yourself when those thoughts start creeping in. I’ll walk you through some ways to stay connected to your recovery, remind yourself that you’re allowed to enjoy food, and move through the season with a bit more ease and compassion.  Happy Holidays! 🎄 Let me know your thoughts! Learning How to Rest in Eating Disorder Recovery
2025/12/02
In today’s episode, we’re talking about something that sounds simple but can feel incredibly hard in eating disorder recovery: learning how to rest. If you’re used to pushing yourself, staying busy, or relying on movement to cope, slowing down can feel unsafe or even “wrong.” I get it, rest was one of the hardest parts for me too. In this episode, we’ll chat about why rest is so important for your physical and emotional recovery, why it feels so uncomfortable at first, and how you can start to build a healthier, kinder relationship with downtime. Rest isn’t laziness. It’s part of healing, and your body needs it just as much as it needs food.  Let me know your thoughts! Everything You Need to Know About Body Dysmorphia
2025/11/25
In today’s episode, we’re diving deep into body dysmorphia — what it is, how it shows up, and why it can make daily life feel so overwhelming. If you’ve ever felt stuck in a cycle of checking, comparing, or fixating on certain parts of your body, you’re definitely not alone. I’ll break down how body dysmorphia develops, the link it has with eating disorders, and why it’s not something you can “snap out of.” We’ll discuss the emotional, brain-based, and practical aspects of coping with these thoughts. And most importantly, we’ll chat about what recovery can actually look like, from someone who has walked in your shoes.  Let me know your thoughts! The Impact of Trauma, Bullying, and Early Childhood Experiences on Disordered Eating and Eating Disorders
2025/11/18
In today’s episode, I’m joined by the wonderful Jackie — a trauma-informed therapist and eating disorder recovery specialist who’s also walked her own path of recovery. We dive into how trauma, bullying, and early childhood experiences can shape the way we relate to food, our bodies, and ourselves. Jackie brings such a grounded mix of professional insight and lived experience, and she explains in such a compassionate way how these early wounds can stay alive in our patterns around eating. We talk about what healing actually looks like, why compassion is so central, and how trauma-informed support can help you reconnect with trust, safety, and your true self. Whether your past feels “big” or “small,” this conversation will help you make sense of why your eating disorder developed and how you can move forward with more understanding and hope. // Follow Jackie Soul Therapy: Website: https://www.soul-trainer.co.uk/ Instagram: @jackiehardingsoultherapy TikTok: @jackiehardingbms Let me know your thoughts! People Pleasing and Perfectionism in Eating Disorders
2025/11/11
In today’s episode, we’re diving into two traits that show up a lot in eating disorders, people pleasing and perfectionism. If you’ve ever found yourself trying to make everyone happy, or feeling like you need to get everything just right to be good enough, this one’s for you.  I’ll talk about how these patterns can feed into disordered eating, where they really come from, and how to start loosening their grip in recovery. We’ll also chat about what it means to find your worth outside of how “perfect” or “easy” you are for others. It’s not about changing who you are — it’s about learning to show up for yourself with the same care you give everyone else. Let me know your thoughts! OCD and Eating Disorders – Understanding the Overlap
2025/10/28
In today's episode, we’re diving into something that’s not talked about enough — the overlap between OCD and eating disorders. If you’ve ever noticed that your food rules, rituals, or routines feel more like compulsions, or that anxiety drives many of your eating behaviours, this one’s for you.  I’ll break down how OCD and eating disorders can feed into each other, what signs to look out for, and how to start untangling the two so you can move toward real recovery. It’s such an important conversation because understanding the why behind your behaviours helps you build the tools to change them.  Hope this helps you understand the overlap a little better. Feeling Not “Sick Enough” to Have an Eating Disorder – Debunking This Myth
2025/10/21
In today’s episode of the Recover to Flourish podcast, we’re unpacking a really harmful myth that so many people in recovery struggle with — the idea that you’re not “sick enough” to have an eating disorder.  Maybe you’ve felt like your struggles don’t count because you don’t look a certain way or haven’t hit some invisible threshold. I get it — I’ve been there too.  In this episode, I’ll share why this mindset is so damaging, where it comes from, and how to start validating your own experience, no matter what your eating disorder has looked like.  You don’t have to reach a crisis point to deserve help or healing.
