Satan Is Real
2026/10/17
The Bible teaches that Satan is real, personal, intelligent, and actively scheming against believers. But he is not all-powerful, all-knowing, or everywhere at once. Those attributes belong to God alone. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef examines what Scripture reveals about Satan—from Job and the temptation of Jesus to Paul’s warnings about the devil’s schemes. Satan often works through deception, even twisting Scripture for his purposes. That is why believers must know God’s Word, put on the full armor of God, and remain alert to spiritual attack. Victory does not come through human willpower. It comes through Truth-power—the Word of God exposing every lie to the light of Scripture. Prayer: Father, thank You for Your Word that gives me Truth-power to defeat the lies of Satan. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me” (John 14:30-31). *Excerpt adapted from Fearless Living in Troubled Times by Michael A. Overcoming Temptation During Trials
2026/10/16
Paul was so concerned for the suffering believers in Thessalonica that he sent Timothy to strengthen and encourage them. He knew that trials can become fertile ground for Satan’s lies. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef identifies some of the most dangerous thoughts believers face in painful seasons: “God doesn’t love me,” “God has abandoned me,” or “God isn’t hearing my prayers.” When those lies take root, joy, peace, and confidence in God can begin to fade. But hardship does not change God’s character. He remains a loving Father who hears His children and keeps His promises. If you are walking through a difficult season, refuse to interpret God through your circumstances. Keep trusting Him with the eyes of faith. Prayer: Lord, help me to trust You. Grant me Your eternal vision, remembering my hope is in You. May Your Gospel—Your powerful love for me—protect me from the temptation to doubt Your care. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7). *Excerpt adapted from Fearless Living in Troubled Times by Michael A. Why Not Me?
2026/10/15
The Christians in Thessalonica endured intense persecution, yet instead of collapsing under pressure, their faith grew stronger and their love for one another increased. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef contrasts their response with our tendency to become discouraged by relatively small hardships. The Thessalonians learned to see suffering not as evidence that God had abandoned them, but as an opportunity to trust Him more deeply. Their example raises an important question: if greater testing comes, will our faith grow under pressure too? The time to deepen our trust in Christ, strengthen our character, and cultivate love for fellow believers is now. Prayer: Father, thank You for the persevering faith of the Thessalonians. May their example embolden and inspire me to pursue deeper faith as I take on the humble attitude of Christ. Prepare me by Your Spirit for the testing to come. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing” (2 Thessalonians 1:3). *Excerpt adapted from Fearless Living in Troubled Times by Michael A. Secure in the Storm
2026/10/14
When life becomes difficult, Satan often uses fear, anxiety, and confusion to weaken our trust in God. The believers in Thessalonica faced that same attack as false teachers convinced them that Christ had already returned. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef unpacks Paul’s call in 2 Thessalonians 2 to remain steady and refuse deception. Jesus had not forgotten His people, and their suffering did not mean God’s promises had failed. Paul also warned of greater opposition before Christ’s return, including the coming “man of lawlessness.” Yet the message is ultimately one of hope: those who belong to Jesus are secure in Him and can stand firm even in the darkest hour. Prayer: Father, thank You that no one can snatch me from Your hand. May I find strength in You and bring glory to Your name. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39). Leave Vengeance to God
2026/10/13
What should you do when you’ve been deeply wronged? In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef reminds us that human vengeance can never deliver the perfect justice our hearts long for. The believers in Thessalonica understood persecution and injustice, yet Paul encouraged them to trust the righteous Judge. Scripture never minimizes evil or pain—but it assures us that God sees every wrong, remains present with His people, and will ultimately set all things right. When Christ returns, justice will be complete. Until then, believers are called to resist bitterness, trust God’s judgment, encourage one another, and even turn painful circumstances into opportunities to share the Gospel. Prayer: Lord, help me to trust in Your perfect justice and to forgive, remembering the grace I have received. Thank You for Your perfect sacrifice that has redeemed me from the pit as You bore my punishment on the cross. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord” (Romans 12:19). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. Nourish Your Faith
2026/10/12
How can persecution become a source of strength instead of defeat? In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef explains that trials and afflictions can deepen our faith by driving us closer to the heart of God. Faith is not a fixed commodity or an inherited trait. It is a growing relationship of trust in the living God. Like roots that grow deeper or muscles that grow stronger through exercise, faith matures as we depend on God and stand on His promises. If your faith feels weak, nourish it with the Truth of Scripture. If it feels inactive, exercise it by trusting God in real circumstances. As the believers in Thessalonica discovered, tested faith can become stronger, steadier, and more deeply rooted in the character of God. Prayer: Lord, I want to trust You more and more with my life. Help me to prioritize time spent with You in Your Word so that I can better live out each day in submission to Your will. Strengthen my faith with Your Gospel. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “The apostles said to the Lord, ‘Increase our faith!’” (Luke 17:5). *Excerpt adapted from Fearless Living in Troubled Times by Michael A. Youssef © 2017. Living a Life of Thanksgiving
2026/10/11
Read Luke 17:11-19. How can we live a life that is truly thankful? The healing of the leper in Luke 17 was extraordinary, but Dr. Michael Youssef reminds us that believers have received an even greater healing: forgiveness of sin and reconciliation with God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Youssef shares four marks of a thankful life. We must recognize the depth of our greatest blessing, make thanksgiving a priority, offer it from the heart, and practice it consistently. The healed leper returned to Jesus immediately and worshiped Him with intensity because he knew where his healing had come from. In the same way, remembering what Christ has done for us should produce heartfelt praise. As we intentionally thank God in every season, gratitude becomes more than an occasional response—it becomes a faithful way of life. Prayer: God, the greatest blessing I have ever and will ever receive is Your forgiveness. Thank You, Jesus. Help me to always give You the praise You are due. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. One Grateful Leper
2026/10/10
In Luke 17, ten lepers cry out to Jesus for mercy. He tells them to show themselves to the priests, and as they go in faith, they are miraculously healed. Yet only one turns back. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef reflects on the Samaritan who returned to Jesus, praising God loudly and falling at His feet in thanksgiving. All ten received the blessing, but only one responded with the gratitude Jesus deserved. It is possible to become so focused on what God gives that we forget the God who gives it. True gratitude is a posture of worship—recognizing that every good gift comes from His gracious hand and returning praise to Him. Prayer: Father, I pray that I would be like the one grateful leper, remembering to praise and thank You for all Your blessings. Thank You for saving me. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalm 103:2). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. Friends for Eternity
2026/10/09
In Luke 16, Jesus tells of a shrewd manager who understood the importance of using present resources with the future in mind. His example points believers toward a far greater purpose: investing what God has given us in things that carry eternal significance. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef explains that our possessions, opportunities, and spiritual gifts are Kingdom resources. When we use them to serve others and advance the Gospel, we participate in work whose impact may reach far beyond what we can see in this life. We may never know how a conversation, gift, Bible study, act of service, or faithful ministry helped someone come to Christ. But one day in heaven, the eternal fruit of that stewardship will be revealed. The world measures success by what we accumulate. God calls us to measure our lives by faithfulness. Invest in what lasts forever. Prayer: God, give me Your eyes to see the lost around me and Your words to share the hope I have in You. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.  “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who is wise saves lives” (Proverbs 11:30).  Learn more in Dr. Michael A. The Father and the Older Son
2026/10/08
The older brother looked faithful on the outside, but when his younger brother returned in repentance, his refusal to rejoice revealed what was really in his heart. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef explains how Jesus used the older brother to confront the Pharisees. Like him, they kept the outward forms of obedience while resisting the Father’s heart for lost sinners. Remarkably, the father humbles himself for both sons—running to meet the younger and leaving the celebration to seek the older. In the same way, Christ humbled Himself for sinners of every kind, enduring the shame of the cross to reconcile both the far-off and the self-righteous to God. Jesus leaves the story unfinished, but the invitation remains clear: the open arms of Christ on the cross welcome all who will come to Him in repentance and faith. Prayer: Lord, I long to live for You because of the freedom and joy You have brought to my life. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found’” (Luke 15:31). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. The Father and the Younger Son
2026/10/07
In Jesus’ parable of the prodigal son, the younger son demands his inheritance and leaves home—a shocking rejection of his father. Yet the father lets him go. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef explains how this story reveals the longsuffering and inexhaustible love of our heavenly Father. After wasting everything, the son becomes broken, hungry, and desperate. He finally returns home, knowing he is unworthy. But while he is still far away, his father sees him, runs to him, embraces him, and welcomes him back. This is the heart of the Gospel. We come to God as we are, repent, and receive what we could never earn: forgiveness, reconciliation, acceptance, and the righteousness of Christ. Prayer: Heavenly Father, I am overwhelmed with Your compassion and generosity toward me, receiving me as Your reconciled, beloved child. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him” (Luke 15:20). The Woman and the Lost Coin
2026/10/06
In Luke 15:8–10, Jesus tells of a woman who loses one of ten precious coins and refuses to stop searching until she finds it. These were not ordinary coins—they were part of a semedi, a bridal headdress that symbolized commitment and love. Losing even one would have been deeply personal. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef brings this parable to life by explaining the dark, cramped homes of first-century Israel, where a lost coin could easily disappear into cracks in a dirt floor. The woman lights a lamp, sweeps carefully, and searches relentlessly because what was lost was precious to her. That is the heart of Jesus’ message. The parable of the lost sheep shows how individualized Christ’s pursuit is. The parable of the lost coin shows how deeply personal His love is. You are not a nameless face in the crowd. The all-knowing, all-seeing God knows you, seeks you, and loves you personally. But there is another sobering detail: the coin was lost inside the house. Dr. Youssef reminds listeners that it is possible to attend church, participate in Christian community, and still never personally repent and receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. God’s love is not abstract, conditional, or passive—it is constant, active, and sacrificial. At the cross, Jesus endured suffering so that lost sinners might be found. Prayer: Lord, help me to live in the freedom that Your tremendous love brings, that I might be holy as You are holy. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it?” (Luke 15:8). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. The Shepherd and the Lost Sheep
2026/10/05
In first-century Israel, tax collectors and “sinners” were among society’s most despised people. Tax collectors were viewed as traitors who cooperated with Rome and often profited at their neighbors’ expense, while those labeled “sinners” were treated as moral outcasts by the religious establishment. Yet these were exactly the people Jesus welcomed. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef explains why Christ spent time with those others rejected. Jesus declared that He “came to seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10). He did not seek people who believed they could establish their own righteousness, but those who knew they desperately needed mercy, forgiveness, and a Savior. When the Pharisees and scribes criticized Jesus for receiving sinners, He answered with the parable of the lost sheep. A shepherd leaves the ninety-nine to search for the one who has wandered away—and when that sheep is found, there is rejoicing. Jesus is that Shepherd. God delights when lost people are found, when sinners repent, and when broken lives receive His healing grace. And if we truly love Jesus, His joy should become our joy. We should celebrate when the lost come home and share Christ’s heart for those still wandering far from Him. Prayer: Jesus, thank You for being my Shepherd, for coming to seek and save me. I rejoice in Your tender care and love. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?” (Luke 15:4). Your Invitation to the New Jerusalem
2026/10/04
Read Revelation 21-22. The closing chapters of Revelation reveal one of Scripture’s most glorious promises: everything will be made new. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef takes us into the new Jerusalem, where nothing will ever again separate God’s people from the presence of Jesus Christ. There will be no more death, mourning, crying, pain, loneliness, brokenness, or sin. God promises the water of life freely to those who thirst, and His children will inherit an eternal Kingdom beyond anything this world can offer. Scripture describes the new Jerusalem as an immense and radiant city, adorned with precious stones and illuminated by the glory of God Himself. Yet its greatest treasure will not be its beauty, size, or streets of gold. The greatest joy of heaven will be God’s presence. There will be no need for sun, moon, or temple because the Lord Himself will dwell with His people and be their light. Dr. Youssef also points to the restoration of Eden—the tree of life, unhindered fellowship with God, and a creation finally free from the curse of sin. Christ has promised to return, making the decisions we make today eternally significant. For believers, judgment will not mean condemnation but reward. Our faithfulness, sacrifice, and service for Christ matter. This devotional encourages you to store up treasure in heaven and live with joyful anticipation of the day when God’s people will see Jesus face to face and reign with Him forever. Prayer: Father, thank You for Your incredible grace. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads” (Revelation 22:3-4). The Destruction of Babylon
2026/10/03
Read Revelation 17:1-20:15. After the final judgments of Revelation 16, Scripture turns to the downfall of Babylon—the false religious system that opposes Christ and His Word. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef traces the dramatic events of Revelation 17–20 and shows how even the schemes of evil ultimately serve the sovereign purposes of God. The Antichrist may appear powerful, but his kingdom will not endure. False religion will fall, heaven will erupt in praise, and attention will turn to the marriage supper of the Lamb—the joyful celebration of Christ and His Bride, the Church. Then Jesus appears as Faithful and True, the Word of God, crowned with many crowns and possessing absolute authority. Nothing is hidden from His blazing eyes. He comes as the victorious King, fulfilling the prayer, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Satan is finally defeated and thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation then brings us to the final judgment, when the book of life is opened. Dr. Youssef urges every listener to face the most important question of eternity: Is your name written there? For those who have come to Christ in repentance and faith, there is no need to fear. Jesus has paid the price, given His righteousness, and secured eternal life for His people. Make certain today that your hope rests completely in what Christ accomplished on the cross. Prayer: Lord, You are awesome in power, and Your love is astounding. Thank You for writing my name in the book of life. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “Then the angel said to me, ‘Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!’ And he added, ‘These are the true words of God’” (Revelation 19:9).
