Send us Fan Mail Welcome, welcome, welcome to The Worst Generation Podcast!  We often label anime as a single component when discussing how good they are, but what actually makes a good anime? In our latest episode, each of us were assigned a category (story, character development, main and side characters, and animation/music/visuals) and gave examples of anime that do these well, and that don't do it well. We also talked about how important each of these categories are in anime. In typical, unpredictable WGP fashion, we end the episode by wondering what anime song we'd play at our funeral. Because why not 😂. Finally, we finish with Family Feud: Anime Edition, where we try to guess the most popular answers to anime-themed questions. Some answers are obvious... others leave us questioning humanity. Send us Fan Mail Welcome, welcome, welcome to The Worst Generation Podcast! In this episode, I handed everyone their anime universe… but kept their actual character locked in a vault. They had no idea who they were. The only way to earn clues? Survive the pod. 🔥 Throughout the episode they had to earn the right to ask me yes or no questions, stacking information piece by piece like detectives in a shōnen saga. Are they powered up like Goku? Strategically cold like Mikasa Ackerman? Or walking around with untouchable confidence like Satoru Gojo? The fewer questions they used, the sweeter the glory. At the end, they had one shot to guess who they really were based on the trail of yeses and nos. Then, we crank it up with “Who Said It?” where quotes from real world icons collide with anime legends. Was that line dropped by Light Yagami… or Muhammad Ali? Could it be Monkey D. Luffy… or Winston Churchill?  In between the games, we catch up, go off on tangents, laugh at our own terrible logic, and just vibe like the end credits are rolling and nobody wants to leave. If you love anime, unhinged guessing games, and the kind of energy that feels like a filler episode in the best possible way, this one’s for you 👀 Check out our socials: Instagram TikTok YouTube Spotify Apple Podcasts For bookings: [email protected]

Send us Fan Mail Welcome, welcome, welcome to The Worst Generation Podcast! Today is a JJ episode, no fights, no competitions just sitting down and chatting with the boys.  This episode we're discussing '100 Metres' an anime movie and sharing our takes on it.  100 Meters (2025) is a Japanese animated sports drama based on Uoto's manga, focusing on the intense, 15-year rivalry between talented sprinter Togashi and his determined classmate, Komiya. Directed by Kenji Iwaisawa, the film explores themes of existentialism, personal obsession, and the psychological impact of chasing perfection in a race lasting under 10 seconds. Send us Fan Mail Welcome, welcome, welcome to The Worst Generation Podcast! Four friends. Two characters each. One all-powerful host with an agenda and absolutely power-drunk. In this episode, four of us are each assigned two anime characters to defend through a chaotic tournament bracket. Our job is simple: argue, joke, and stretch logic as far as humanly possible to prove our characters deserve to advance. Standing above the madness is the host aka Dictator Kush. He controls the matchups, shuts down nonsense when it gets too wild, and ultimately decides who moves on. Fair? Absolutely not. Entertaining? Definitely. Round by round, winners face winners, hot takes get hotter, and somehow a completely unexpected character survives to the end. Whether it’s pure bias, accidental genius, or dictator energy, only one champion walks away. No spreadsheets. No power scaling essays. Just friends, anime, and arguments that spiral beautifully out of control. Enter the arena. 🏟️🔥 Check out our socials: Instagram TikTok YouTube Spotify Apple Podcasts For bookings: [email protected]

Send us Fan Mail Welcome, welcome, welcome to The Worst Generation Podcast! In this episode, we take a moment to address a heart breaking loss in the anime and cosplay community. We discuss the death of Black anime cosplayer squidkid1111, who tragically took her own life after enduring racial abuse. We reflect on the impact of online hate, the responsibility of fandom spaces, and why conversations around racism and mental health cannot be ignored. After that heavy but necessary discussion, we shift gears and share some positive news from our side — we’ve officially upgraded to a brand-new studio. We talk about what this level-up means for the podcast, our creative vision, and the future of the pod. To round out the episode, we dive into one of anime’s core themes: level ups and upgrades. From power scaling and training arcs to character evolutions and personal growth, we explore how anime uses progression as a metaphor for self-improvement and how those lessons can apply to real life. ⚠️ Content warning: This episode contains discussion of suicide and racial abuse.
