Season 7: Episode 17 - Story "Amelia"
2026/10/27
In this latest episode on the Safe to Hope podcast, we'll hear from Amelia. Amelia is a believer who loves the Lord and a mother who loves her children deeply. When all of her children identified as queer, she found herself wrestling with questions about Scripture, faithfulness to God, and how best to maintain a relationship with her children. Amelia and her husband had been active leaders in a conservative church plant, serving alongside staff and fellow volunteers for years. Yet, as she navigated these questions, she experienced her church's response as presenting two seemingly irreconcilable choices: live authentically before God or love her children without condition. As you listen, you'll hear how Amelia wrestled with these tensions and where her journey has led her. Safe To Hope is one of the resources offered through the ministry of Help[H]er, a 501C3 that provides advocacy for women in crisis in the church, and training and resources for those ministering in one-another care. Your donations make it possible for Help[H]er to serve as they navigate crises. All donations are tax-deductible.
