This week on 13 Degrees of Screams, we dive into Die My Love! In this deep dive episode, we explore the film’s connections to other movies like Mother! and Nightbitch, break down the differences between postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis, and discuss how the movie compares to the book that inspired it. How Scary is DIE MY LOVE?
2026/10/08
In this episode, we’re heading out to rural Montana to take a very confusing trip into Die, My Love. We dig into whether this movie is actually scary, and we break down its increasingly bizarre plot because nothing says a fresh start like a crumbling house, a mysterious motorcyclist, a suspicious wild horse, and a relationship that is very clearly falling apart. We also get into the movie’s strange atmosphere, Grace’s increasingly erratic behavior, the questionable decisions made by pretty much everyone involved, and the many moments that left us asking, “Wait, what is happening?” Plus, we try to figure out what’s real, what’s in Grace’s head, whether the motorcyclist is even real, and why everyone in this movie seems to be making the worst possible decision at every opportunity. Finally, we tackle the ending and debate what actually happened to Grace before wrapping it all up with our scary scale, rating Die, My Love from 1 to 13 and deciding whether this psychological horror is genuinely frightening or just confusing as hell. Find out in this episode! And check out last week's episode to get a full plot breakdown and our scary scale ratings! Be sure to subscribe to be notified when we post new episodes! How Scary is OBSESSION?
2026/09/24
This week, we dive headfirst into Obsession, a movie that proves wishes are powerful, dangerous, and way too easy to get wrong. We get into the tragedy of Nikki Freeman, a character who deserved better but got the worst. We talk about what happened to her and how things progressively spiraled out of control. And of course, we cannot ignore the absolute audacity of Bear, a character who makes choices so wrong and so baffling that we had to pause more than once just to process the nerve. Finally, we put Obsession through our scary scale, rating it from 1 to 13 and debate where this atmospheric thriller lands in spectrum of screams. SCOOBY-DOO ON ZOMBIE ISLAND Deep Dive
2026/09/17
This week on 13 Degrees of Screams, we dive deep into Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island, continuing our conversation from our plot episode. We break down how the film stacks up against classics like Courage the Cowardly Dog, Goosebumps, and other childhood horror media. Then we dive into the movie’s development: how this story came to be and the surprising connection to another kid's cartoon. And of course, we talk about the wild fact that this wasn’t the gang’s first brush with actual supernatural threats, tracing the history of “real monster” moments across the Scooby‑verse and how Zombie Island became the blueprint for the franchise’s darker era. How Scary is SCOOBY-DOO ON ZOMBIE ISLAND?
2026/09/10
In this episode, we’re heading down to Moonscar Island to revisit one of the most memorable Scooby-Doo movies ever made: Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island. We dig into whether the zombies are actually scary, and we break down the movie’s surprisingly dark plot because nothing says childhood cartoon like immortal werecats, voodoo rituals, and a whole lot of dead pirates. We also get into the movie’s atmosphere, suspicious characters, and the reveal that the monsters aren’t just people in masks this time. Plus, we debate whether this movie really was as intense as we remember from childhood or if we were just easier to scare back then. Finally, we wrap it all up with our scary scale, rating Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island from 1 to 13 and deciding whether this childhood classic still holds up as a children's horror movie! Is CLOWN IN A CORNFIELD’s Frendo a Worthy Horror Clown?
2026/09/03
In this episode, we’re heading straight into the cornfields to talk about Frendo, one of the newest horror clowns to be added to the collection. We dig into whether he’s actually scary, and we break down the real motive behind the killings because nothing says small‑town scares like a clown with an agenda. We also get into the movie’s comedy, debating whether the jokes land or if they’re just as cringey as older generations. Finally, we wrap it all up with our scary scale, rating Clown in a Cornfield from 1 to 13 and deciding exactly where Frendo sits in the field of horror clowns! 2026/08/27

Can Anyone Actually Survive THE LONG WALK?
2026/08/13

DROP: A Confusing Thriller That Surprised Us
2026/08/06
This week on 13 Degrees of Screams, we’re diving into Drop, a thriller that’s way more suspenseful than it should be, even as the characters’ motivations get… let’s say mysteriously unclear. Still, if you don’t think too hard about it, the ride is undeniably fun. We break down the tension, the deadly plot to take out a date, and the charm of a movie that thrives on fun over logic.  Then, as always, we put Drop through our scary scale, rating it from 1 to 13. Our ratings may surprise you! CARRIE (1976) Review: The Tragic Story Behind One of Horror’s Most Iconic Films
2026/07/30
In this episode of 13 Degrees of Screams, we're discussing Carrie (1976), Brian De Palma’s supernatural horror classic based on Stephen King’s debut novel, in which a relentlessly bullied high school girl discovers her telekinetic powers and unleashes devastating revenge after a cruel prom-night prank. We discuss our first impressions of the film, how it compares to the other Carrie adaptations, the beautifully unsettling prom sequence, and whether Tommy and Sue’s well-intentioned plan was doomed from the start. We also break down Margaret White’s twisted religious beliefs, how years of abuse shaped Carrie’s tragic story, and the connection between her delayed puberty and the awakening of her powers. Along the way, we discuss differences between the novel and film, including Carrie’s childhood telekinetic abilities, and the behind the scenes story of how P. J. Soles’ trademark hat accidentally expanded Norma’s role in the movie. Join us as we revisit one of horror’s most influential classics and see where Carrie lands on our scary scale. Follow along to hear where Carrie lands on our scary scale of 1 to 13. Style Over Substance? The Truth Behind HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES
2026/07/23
In this episode of 13 Degrees of Screams, we tear into House of 1000 Corpses and explore how Rob Zombie’s debut film builds its twisted world of killers. We dig into the Firefly family and why they remain one of horror’s most unhinged clans... and maybe the most silly? Then we take a detour into true crime, unpacking the story of the Bloody Benders, the infamous 19th‑century serial killer family whose crimes haunt American folklore. And then we ask: is House of 1000 Corpses all style over substance, or are there actual themes you can pull from it? Of course, we end the episode by rating it on our scary scale of 1-13!  Follow 13 Degrees of Screams for more content: https://www.instagram.com/13degreesofscreams/ https://x.com/13ScreamsPod https://bsky.app/profile/13degreesofscreams.bsky.social https://www.tiktok.com/@13degreesofscreams
SPACE JAM Is Secretly an Intro for Body Horror
2026/07/16
In this episode of 13 Degrees of Screams, we ask the question no one was asking: Is Space Jam (1996) secretly a horror movie? Sure, it's a family basketball comedy... but it's also about alien abduction, stolen talent, and the threat of spending eternity performing at an intergalactic theme park. Totally kid friendly. Then we break down the film's creepiest moments, from the Monstars stealing the NBA players' abilities and transforming into giant monsters to the surprisingly unsettling body horror, cartoon injuries, and Michael Jordan betting his own freedom on a basketball game. Because apparently that was a reasonable decision. Finally, we put Space Jam through our scary scale, rating it from 1 to 13 to find out if this childhood classic is actually more terrifying than anyone remembers.
