Description

The world of lasers for the skin can be confusing and overwhelming with new treatments popping up daily. What works? What doesn't? And a little clarity, please, on what these "energy based devices" can and cannot do. This podcast helps both patients and practitioners navigate through the different energy based devices (Laser, IPL and RF) as well as decoding the numerous injectables such as Botox, Fillers and PDO threads, to help gain a better understanding and to evaluate if these types of procedures are right for you. Yes, so true...we all age, but how we age is our choice and hopefully you will walk away with a greater insight into the wild, wonderful world of lasers. This show is hosted by Dr. Raminder "Minni" Saluja (board certified ophthalmologist and fellowship trained in Cosmetic Dermatology) and Kane Rogers. No quizzes at the end so sit back and enjoy and DM us for questions you would love to see answered in upcoming shows. Instagram: SalujalaserMD

Episode #33 Fotona SmoothEyes and LipLase
2026/09/20
In this episode of Just Laser It, Dr. Saluja sits down with Kane to discuss two of Fotona’s most talked-about noninvasive treatments: SmoothEye® and LipLase®. They break down how these treatments use laser energy to target areas that can be difficult to address without surgery, the delicate skin around the eyes and the lips, while focusing on collagen remodeling, tissue quality, and subtle, natural-looking rejuvenation. What exactly does SmoothEye do? How is LipLase different from filler? Who is a good candidate, what can patients realistically expect, and where do these treatments fit into a broader aesthetic plan? Dr. Saluja and Kane take a practical look at the technology, the treatment experience, and why improving the quality of the tissue, not simply adding volume, can sometimes be the better option. If you are curious about laser-based rejuvenation around the eyes and lips, this episode is for you. Thank you for your listenership!
Episode #32: T-Runner
2026/07/26
Welcome to Just Laser It! In this episode, we're talking about the T-Runner, one of my favorite laser treatments for natural skin tightening. If you've been wondering whether you can improve loose, crepey skin without surgery or significant downtime, this episode is for you. We'll discuss how the T-Runner works, who makes a good candidate, what the treatment feels like, and the realistic results you can expect as your body builds new collagen over time. Let's dive in! Thank you for your listenership!
Episode #31: Skin 360
2026/06/12
In this episode, we’re introducing the Skin 360 treatment series: a six-month program designed to support overall skin quality through a rotating monthly plan using ADVATx, LaseMD, and Exceed microneedling. Rather than relying on one approach, Skin 360 alternates between these technologies month by month, allowing us to target different aspects of skin appearance, including tone, texture, redness, pores, fine lines, and overall radiance. We’ll talk through how each treatment works, why spacing and sequencing matter, what patients can expect during the six-month (every 4 weeks) or nine-month (every 6 week) journey, and who may be a good candidate. As always, treatment plans should be individualized after a consultation, because skin type, goals, medical history, and downtime tolerance all matter. Thank you for your listenership!
Episode #30: Fotona Resurfacing Light and Fotona Resurfacing Max
2026/05/03
Episode Title: Fotona Resurfacing: Light vs. Max — A Smarter Alternative to CO2? Episode Description: In this episode of Just Laser It: All Things Cosmetic, Dr. Saluja and Kane break down one of the most powerful and versatile technologies in modern aesthetic medicine—the Fotona Dynamis Max—and how it is redefining skin resurfacing. If you have ever wondered whether CO2 laser resurfacing is still the gold standard, this conversation offers a fresh, science-driven perspective. Dr. Saluja explains why erbium (2940 nm) technology is increasingly becoming her preferred approach for ablative resurfacing—delivering precise results with less downtime, reduced thermal damage, and lower risk of complications like post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The episode introduces two signature treatment approaches used in practice: Fotona Resurfacing Light – A gentle yet effective option for patients seeking brighter, smoother skin with minimal downtime (approximately 2–3 days). Ideal for early aging, mild texture concerns, and maintenance. Fotona Resurfacing Max – A more advanced, multi-layered resurfacing protocol designed for deeper lines, sun damage, and more significant skin remodeling, with a slightly longer recovery (approximately 3–4 days). You will also learn:  The key differences between erbium and CO2 wavelengths, and why water absorption matters in laser precision  How collagen stimulation occurs at the cellular level (including activation of TGF-beta and heat shock proteins)  Why erbium allows for customizable treatment depths—from micropeels to deep resurfacing  How to safely treat a wider range of skin types with reduced risk  Realistic expectations for downtime, healing, and treatment series Whether you are a patient exploring resurfacing options or a practitioner refining your laser approach, this episode delivers a clear, clinically grounded framework for choosing the right treatment. Thank you for your listenership!
Episode #29: Junera Laser
2026/03/01
In this episode, we take a deep dive into the Junera Laser, one of the most advanced minimally invasive technologies for tissue tightening, contour refinement, and collagen stimulation. If you have been hearing the buzz around subdermal energy-based treatments and wondering what truly sets Junera apart, this discussion breaks it down in clear, clinically grounded terms. We explore how Junera works beneath the skin to gently heat and contract tissue while stimulating new collagen formation over time. You will learn what makes this technology different from traditional surface lasers and RF microneedling, who may be a good candidate, and what realistic recovery and results look like. We also discuss the treatment timeline, including why early improvements can be seen within weeks while deeper collagen remodeling continues over several months. As always, our focus is on evidence-based aesthetic medicine, patient selection, and setting appropriate expectations. If you are interested in non-surgical options to lift, tighten, and subtly sculpt, this is an episode you will not want to miss. Thank you for your listenership!
Episode 28: Zentite RFMN by Boston Aesthetics
2025/11/24
In this episode of Just Laser It, Dr. Saluja explores the Zentite RF Microneedling system by Boston Aesthetics — a device built around the company’s mission of “beauty without boundaries.” Zentite prioritizes comfort, versatility, efficiency, and fast treatment times, offering multi-depth coagulation in a single pulse with consistent, predictable results. This episode also highlights Zentite’s vacuum-assisted technology, integrated into two of its tips to enhance precision, comfort, and control. Learn how this next-generation platform fits into today’s regenerative aesthetic landscape.  Thank you for your listenership!
Episode #27: Fotona 4-D Face and Neck, from the inside and out.
2025/11/02
In this episode of Just Laser It with Dr. Minni Saluja and Kane Rogers, we dive into one of the most talked-about technologies in modern aesthetic medicine, the Fotona 4D. Dr. Saluja explains how this advanced dual-wavelength laser (Nd:YAG and Er:YAG) works in four synergistic steps to tighten, volumize, and smooth the skin, without needles or downtime. You will learn how the intraoral “SmoothLiftin” mode stimulates collagen from within, why this treatment is sometimes called a “laser facelift,” and how it compares to other rejuvenation options like RF microneedling or fillers. Kane adds his take on patient experiences, recovery expectations, and what makes this treatment a favorite among those seeking natural-looking results. Whether you’re a curious patient or a fellow practitioner, this episode breaks down the science behind the glow and the precision behind the lift, proof that innovation doesn’t always have to mean invasive. Thank you for your listenership!
Episode #26: Radiesse and Hyper-Dilute Radiesse
2025/06/08
In this episode, we take a closer look at one of the most versatile injectables in regenerative aesthetics: Radiesse. Whether used to restore volume and structural support or diluted to stimulate collagen in more delicate areas, Radiesse offers both immediate enhancement and long-term skin rejuvenation. We will explain how Hyperdilute Radiesse works as a biostimulatory treatment, how it differs from traditional fillers, and which areas benefit most, such as the face, neck, arms, upper thighs and zones with crepey skin.  If you have ever wondered how to rebuild your skin’s foundation in a natural and regenerative way, this episode will guide you through it.  Thank you for your listenership!
Episode 25- Ozempic Face
2025/04/27
In this first part of a two-part series, Dr. Saluja and Kane unpack how GLP-1 and GIP medications, including Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro, are reshaping not just metabolism, but also facial structure, leading to what’s now known as "Ozempic Face." In this episode, they explore what GLP-1 receptor agonists and GIP agonists are, how rapid fat loss affects skin, collagen, and volume, and introduce key strategies that can be done at home from a nutritional perspective to support collagen health and overall facial balance. Join them as they break down the science and lay the foundation for more advanced treatment approaches discussed in Part Two.  Thank you for your listenership!
Episode 24: Prism Plasma
2025/03/09
Welcome to today's episode where we dive into Prism Plasma which is a fractional plasma treatment that is transforming how we approach skin tightening. Unlike traditional methods, Prism Plasma harnesses the power of controlled thermal energy to stimulate collagen production and cellular renewal at the deepest layers of your skin. This innovative treatment works by creating thousands of microscopic plasma channels in the papillary dermis triggering your body's natural healing response without the downtime associated with more invasive procedures. Whether you are battling the first signs of aging or looking to restore firmness to mature skin, Prism Plasma offers customizable solutions for all skin types and concerns. We will also discuss Cold Atmospheric Plasma and the antimicrobial effects that help to minimize acne lesions.  Thank you for your listenership!
Episode 23: Melasma
2024/09/15
Melasma! Welcome back to another episode of Just Laser It, where we break down the science behind the most common skin conditions and discuss the latest in cosmetic dermatology. Today, we’re diving into a particularly stubborn condition—melasma. Known for its characteristic dark patches, melasma can be incredibly frustrating to treat due to its complex triggers and chronic nature.  While many of us may look to advanced treatments like lasers or chemical peels, topicals are actually the first line of defense and often the most effective way to manage this condition. In fact, relying too heavily on procedures may not always improve the appearance and, in some cases, can even make things worse. Join us to explore the challenges of treating melasma and why starting with the right topical regimen is critical to long-term success. Let’s get started! Thank you for your listenership!
Episode #22: Pavise
2024/05/27

This proprietary formulation enhances the stability, transparency, and delivery of potent bioactive ingredients, ensuring maximum efficacy. The diamond core structure allows for precise delivery of key active ingredients, while the uniform zinc crystal provides robust protection and enhances skin barrier function. This unique formulation helps minimize reactive oxygen species, thereby slowing the aging process. Thank you for your listenership!
Episode 21: Sugar Sag and Collagen Supplements
2024/05/04
Our diet is a key component that can add to our aging. Did you know that sugar can cause "Skin Sugar Sag"? In this episode, Dr. Saluja and Kane explore how sugar consumption can significantly impact skin health through a process known as glycation. This occurs when excess sugar molecules attach themselves to collagen and elastin, the proteins that keep skin firm and elastic. Over time, this reaction forms harmful new molecules known as Advanced Glycation End-products (AGEs). AGEs accumulate, leading to the breakdown of collagen and elastin, resulting in skin that appears less firm and more wrinkled—a phenomenon often referred to as "sugar sag." Reducing sugar intake can help mitigate this process, preserving skin's youthful appearance and maintaining its structural integrity Thank you for your listenership!
Episode 20: Case Studies
2024/04/20
Welcome Back! In this episode, Dr. Saluja and Kane will be analyzing fictitious case studies of patients who are seeking to enhance their appearance through various cosmetic procedures.  From tackling fine lines and wrinkles to addressing skin discoloration and texture irregularities, we'll explore the nuanced decisions that go into recommending treatments such as neuromodulators, fillers and energy-based devices as well as how to protect and improve you skin at home!   Thank you for your listenership!
Episode #19: Photobiomodulation
2024/01/22
Photobiomodulation (LED or LLLT) utilizes light to trigger biological changes.  It primarily involves red (633 nm) and near infrared light (830 nm) for wound healing and tissue repair by promoting cellular growth and regeneration which accelerates the healing process.  It also helps reduce inflammation and pain in muscular injuries. Neuroprotective effects are also being studied to enhance cognitive effects and help protect from neural inflammation seen in a variety of disease states of the brain. PBM is non-invasive, non-thermal and now at home devices are available. Hope you enjoy! Dr. Saluja and Kane Thank you for your listenership!
