Many New Faces in Storrs
2026/08/21
Tom Moore retired. Luke Murray got a head coaching gig. Ten new players joined the roster, including an intriguing late addition from Real Madrid. It’s been quite the summer for the UConn Huskies, and preseason is still a couple of months away from getting started, but we have a lot to discuss: the addition of Egor Amosov, new GM Charlie Stevens, new assistant coach Mike Pegues, and the legacy of Tom Moore. Hot Husky Summer
2026/06/18
We have some new Huskies to discuss and a new name in the mix for the final roster spot that could be very intriguing. Also, shoutout to Colben Landrew for getting a Team USA nod in the U18 AmeriCup. In this episode of the podcast, we discuss the state of the roster, Steph Castle in the NBA Finals, Alex Karaban and Tarris Reed’s NBA Draft prospects, and the addition of new assistant coach Mike Pegues. Hello Oskar, Nils, and Duke
2026/05/02
The offseason train keeps on humming, as UConn added two more pieces in the portal and confirmed a marquee addition to its non-conference schedule. In this episode, Aman and Patrick break down the commitments of Oskar Giltay and Nils Machowski and make early guesses on the starting lineup. We also looked around the Big East to see who’s having a good portal season. Enjoy! This is a public episode. Portal Time, Portal Time
2026/04/23
The UConn men’s basketball Huskies are going to be very good in 2026-2027. Dan Hurley and his staff have done an incredible job on retention and recruiting of new players in the early portal period. Some guys are leaving, and we’re sad to see them go, but it’s hard to be anything but excited about what lies ahead. In this episode, we discuss the portal additions, roster retention, and the departure of Luke Murray from the staff. Enjoy! This is a public episode. What a Run
2026/04/10
The 2025-2026 UConn Huskies fought all the way to the final game’s final whistle. Their comeback effort fell short against Michigan on Monday night, but they delivered an inspiring performance despite injuries across the starting lineup and a clear size disadvantage. In this end-of-season episode, we recap the championship game, highlight the keys to the Huskies’ run to Indy, and discuss what it all means for the program’s place among the best in the nation. Final Four Preview: Here for rings, not watches
2026/04/04
The UConn Huskies are good. They came back against Duke in the Elite Eight and now they’re in Indy. The haters will say UConn is the team with the lowest odds to win it all, but that hasn’t stopped the Huskies before. Enjoy! Check out our preview content on YouTube! This is a public episode. UConn > Duke
2026/03/30
We shocked the world, again. Braylon Mullins hit one of the greatest buzzer beaters in college basketball history, sending Duke packing and putting the Huskies in their third Final Four in four years. It’s hard to even comprehend how the Huskies came back from a 19-point deficit that looked worse than it sounds. All we know for sure is we’ll remember this forever. Enjoy! Elite Eight ft. Duke
2026/03/29
The UConn Huskies are in the Elite Eight for the third time in four years and 14th time as a program, with 13 of those appearances coming since 1990. Up next, they take on a favored Duke team that’s the tourney’s top overall seed and, as usual, loaded with blue-chippers and NBA Draft prospects. In this episode, we discuss the Sweet 16 victory over Michigan State, driven by their senior leaders Alex Karaban and Tarris Reed Jr., and how the Huskies match up against the Blue Devils. We also discuss the success story of this season and what it would mean to take down the evil empire one more time. Enjoy! Check out our YouTube channel for press conferences and other content! How Sweet It Is
2026/03/27
The UConn Huskies are in the Sweet 16 and their senior leaders are hooping. In this episode, we discuss the win over UCLA, the Michigan State “rematch,” and the markers of success for this season. NCAAT Preview: Appropriate Levels of Respect for Furman
2026/03/19
It’s that time of year, folks, to put the regular season and all of its issues in the past and look forward to another year of UConn overachievement in the NCAA Tournament. But first, Furman, a pesky Southern Conference team that was the six-seed in its conference tournament before winning three straight to punch its ticket to the dance. They have a well-coached team with solid size and shooting, and a stud leading scorer in freshman Alex Wilkins. Bob Richey’s squad also has two experienced big men who are their second- and third-leading scorers. We talk about this matchup and more in the latest episode of the Fast Break, including the sour taste of the Big East final, the East region bracket, and thoughts on who we would prefer to see in a potential second-round matchup between UCLA or UCF. That New March Feeling
2026/03/03
The haters wanted it so bad. They said the UConn Huskies didn’t have the goods because they wanted it to be true, or they were desperate for attention online. Either way, the haters are wrong, proven to be losers once again. Dan Hurley’s squad shook off the Creighton loss by thumping Villanova and walloping St. John’s before a Senior Day special from Alex Karaban to cement itself as one of the best teams in the country. In this episode, Aman and Patrick discuss: Acceptable ways to cope with a loss, the rising sense of urgency from Karaban and Tarris Reed Jr., and the team’s trajectory as we get close to the start of postseason play. No Dan Madigan in this episode, but he’s got a great excuse, we promise! Download, follow, and review us on Spotify or Apple Podcasts! Photo: Ian Bethune This is a public episode. Have You Tried Liking Sports?
2026/02/17
UConn men’s basketball beat Butler and Georgetown after losing to St. John’s, but it’s still not good enough, according to some Husky fans. If you’ve been tracking the discourse after UConn’s 79-75 win over Georgetown on Saturday, the environment at games is bad, the team isn’t great enough, and a laundry list of other complaints follows. Here at The UConn Fast Break Podcast, we refuse to give in to this negativity. This is already one of the program’s most successful seasons and part of a four-year run of excellence that UConn has never seen, if it can avoid an NCAA Tournament upset. The assembled squad is pretty good, only two years removed from consecutive titles, during a time when everything we know about team-building is evolving. In this episode, we spend about 45 minutes breaking down the St. John’s, Butler, and Georgetown performances and the highlights and concerns stewing on the court. Then we indulge in some commentary on the online discourse surrounding this year’s team, including attendance, fan fervor, and managing expectations. The Huskies have $2 Beer Night vs. Creighton on Wednesday before a big road date with Villanova on Saturday. Then they host St. John’s and Seton Hall before ending the season at Marquette, and then we have the Big East Tournament. Great times ahead! This is a public episode. We Are So Back (Also Never Left)
2026/02/06
UConn men’s basketball is 22-1, but you would not have known the season was going so well based on the tenor of the fan discourse. In this episode, we discuss managing expectations, the highs and lows of organized sports, two blowout wins, and preview the St. John’s matchup. Chatting Huskies with Andy Katz
2026/01/20
As Big East play ramps up, UConn has survived a few close calls. In this episode, we discuss the Providence and Seton Hall games, and also interview Andy Katz! The national college hoops reporter was on the sidelines for the broadcast of the Huskies’ win over Seton Hall and shared his thoughts on their season thus far. You can also catch the Katz interview on our YouTube channel. Editor’s Note: This podcast was originally scheduled to be released before the Georgetown game, but technical issues got in the way. We cut our preview of that matchup from the episode, but still ran through the highs and lows of two interesting games and ended with an early look at Villanova. We’ll be sure to get a new episode out later this week! Andy Katz interviews Dan Hurley at the Prudential Center after the Huskies’ 69-64 win in the Prudential Center. This is a public episode.
