Joey and Nancy talked about Danny White keeping the popular pregame happy hour at Neyland Stadium after the Texas game. They liked the idea of opening gates early, offering half-price concessions, and spreading out the crowds before kickoff.  Joey shared that his mother-in-law became concerned after seeing a video of Rich Bailey giving him $2 for a cheeseburger after Joey joked about sticking to the family budget at the end of the month. The conversation somehow turned into the possibility of a future stash of grandma-funded gift cards.  Nancy discovered that sending a birthday invitation graphic to a group text does not automatically count as an RSVP for Joey. The misunderstanding led to a funny debate about how differently men and women interpret texted invitations for her grandson Grayson’s first birthday party.  Hot Tea: Wynonna Judd revealed she learned on TikTok that daughter Grace Kelley may have another baby on the way. Luke Combs says he lost 30 pounds to prepare for an elk hunt in Utah. Nancy also shared the shocking story of an Ohio woman who became a double amputee after a hospital mistakenly removed the wrong leg before performing the correct surgery.  A student from Principal Matt Barger’s school called the show and rated him an 8 out of 10 on the scary scale. The student said everyone knows they have messed up when Mr. Barger “turns red,” although he also described him as a good principal.  Joey brought in WOKI’s Bob Yarbrough to react to a viral parody about news anchors all sounding alike. Bob then dusted off his old TV-news voice and dramatically read the Lucky 7 contest script, proving he still has his anchor delivery.  Lucky 7 won $50 to the Copper Cellar family of restaurants  Joey and Nancy discussed the dramatic Flydubai incident in which a co-pilot allegedly attacked the captain during flight. Former pilot Nancy explained how extreme a 17,000-foot descent in two minutes would be and called it remarkable that passengers, crew members, and off-duty pilots were able to help save the aircraft.  The show announced Riley Green tickets for his April 30, 2027 show at Food City Center. Listeners were told to text “Riley” for a chance to win before tickets officially go on sale, and winners must answer the phone with the phrase “I want you in the worst way.”  Group Therapy featured Abby, who is frustrated that her mother disciplines Abby’s 7-year-old son before Abby has a chance to handle situations herself. Callers were split, with some saying grandma should respect the parent’s authority and others arguing that grandparents have every right to correct behavior, especially in their own homes.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Joey admitted he got completely distracted watching construction equipment while waiting on his boys’ piano lessons. He compared grading dirt to watching a Zamboni smooth ice, and Nancy confessed she's just as mesmerized by satisfying games on her phone like Block Blast and Good Sorting.  The show talked about a University of Georgia student who survived an eight-story fall after reportedly falling through a window while dancing on a couch. Joey, Nancy, and Karly shared moments when they thought they were seriously hurt, including horse accidents, hydroplaning, and Joey spinning out on an icy interstate ramp.  Hot Tea: Lady A's Charles Kelley revealed he's been diagnosed with multiple myeloma after doctors investigated several unexplained rib fractures. The CEO of Flock reportedly had his home blurred on Google Maps for privacy, only for internet users to mark it as a public toilet. And a Texas man crashed through the front doors of a Kroger at 4 a.m. because he urgently needed a bathroom.  Nancy witnessed a full-blown fight in the Buddy's Bar-B-Q drive-thru after a driver mistakenly pulled around a truck that appeared to be stalled. The misunderstanding led to yelling, threats, and Buddy's refusing service to the guy who cut the line.  Listeners shared the craziest places they've seen fights break out, including a liquor store drive-thru, a Keith Urban concert, a Hardee's drive-thru involving a very small woman with a gun, a grandmother's funeral, Black Friday at Walmart, and youth football games.  Lucky 7 For $50 to the Copper Cellar Family Restaurants  Nancy was shocked when his daughter asked whether there would be a livestream of the upcoming Christa Pike execution. The conversation turned into a discussion about true crime culture, public fascination with criminal cases, and why turning real-life tragedies into entertainment can feel uncomfortable.  Joey shared a parenting moment after one of his sons accidentally dinged another car with a door in a parking lot. He used the situation as a lesson in accountability, left a note with his contact information, and joked that including a church note card with a Bible verse probably didn't hurt.  For What Makes You Special, listeners met Kent from the Apple Barn in Sevierville. Kent shared that the family operation started with just a handful of trees and has grown to around 7,000 apple trees, all still picked by hand. He also talked about the Apple Barn's 50th anniversary celebration and upcoming Apple Festival featuring hayrides, bluegrass music, apple treats, and family activities over the first two weekends of October See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Nancy was sore after buying 49 pumpkins and moving 7,000 pounds of rock for her fall garden.  The show remembered Dennis Haskins, better known as Mr. Belding from Saved by the Bell, after learning the Chattanooga native passed away at age 75.  Joey took a trip down memory lane talking about Saved by the Bell and Hey Dude, and shared that his son actually wants to watch the old Nickelodeon shows with him.  Joey was way too excited about his newest purchase: an AirTag holder for his MacBook charger so he'll never lose it again.  Kathy, a Knox County school bus driver of 45 years, called in to share memories from the late '80s and early '90s and hinted that retirement may be coming soon.  Hot Tea: Instagram is testing a paid feature that gives users more story-viewing details, Tom Cruise stopped to check on a woman he thought looked sad, and a 72-year-old Pokémon fan got arrested for putting a GPS tracker on a delivery vehicle.  Farryn and Brinkley from Sevier County stopped by to talk about their four-chair turn on The Voice, choosing Riley Green as their coach, and even harmonized the alphabet live on-air.  Joey admitted he turned down his son's request for a $2 McDonald's cheeseburger because the family's monthly eating-out budget had already been spent.  Lucky 7 For $50 to the Copper Cellar Family Restaurants   Nancy shared her embarrassing quarry story after accidentally ordering 8 tons of rock instead of 8,000 pounds, creating a three-hour ordeal to get it fixed.  Group Therapy centered on a listener who wondered if her new veterinarian was flirting with her after sending texts filled with smiley and wink emojis.  The show wrapped up with Nancy complaining about school pickup lines  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Joey, Nancy, and Karly talked about all the hype leading up to the UT-Texas game and agreed the traffic disaster everyone predicted never really happened. They also discussed celebrity sightings, including Glen Powell, Johnny Knoxville, Thomas Rhett, Emily Ann Roberts, and the President's visit to Neyland Stadium.  WIVK officially unveiled its new studio phone number, 865-489-1077. Karly called in live to test it and confirmed everything was working.  Nancy shared a frustrating encounter with a woman who gave her unsolicited advice about migraines. After being questioned about her sleep, diet, and water intake, Nancy delivered a funny on-air rant about not having the luxury of a perfect wellness routine.  Heather Harrington enlisted Joey and Nancy to wake up her sons, Gus and Woodrow, for the Monday morning wake up call.   A man named Chuck called the station claiming he'd been assigned WIVK's old phone number. Throughout the morning, he became increasingly frustrated as listeners kept calling, texting, and entering contests on his phone by mistake.  Hot Tea: Ella Langley sparked reactions online after responding "There's not enough in the world" when a fan shouted through a parking garage asking how many TikTok likes it would take to get a date with her. Reba McEntire revealed she missed the last phone call Dolly Parton ever made to her and never got the chance to reconnect before Dolly's passing. A DoorDash customer went viral after driving to the scene of his delivery driver's crash and picking up his own food order directly from the accident scene.  Joey and Nancy discussed the President's visit to Neyland Stadium, Air Force One's dramatic flyover, and reports that Secret Service communications may have interfered with coaching and broadcast radio systems during the game.  Lucky 7 for $50 to the Copper Cellar Family of Restaurants   UT sophomore Colby Lamb joined the show after winning Pat McAfee's kicking challenge on ESPN GameDay. Colby, who said he'd never kicked a football before, won $1 million after making a second-chance field goal encouraged by Peyton Manning.  Karly shared highlights from a trip to Cades Cove, where she spotted a mama bear with cubs and was stunned to see tourists getting out of their cars and walking dangerously close to the animals for photos.  The show wrapped up by talking about strange Halloween-themed foods, including glow-in-the-dark Hidden Valley Ranch and blood-red "vampire noodles," agreeing that foods with unusual colors are hard to eat even when they taste the same.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Joey got lost in the Maryville Target and they started comparing stores that seem to have everything in the wrong place. Joey’s internet went out and his wife went into full conspiracy mode. Hot Tea: Dolly’s last recording was with U2, Tom Cruise has someone read scripts to him, and one woman tried a truly disgusting way to beat a breathalyzer. Mike Keith stopped by to talk about the Tennessee–Texas game. Then Karly gave him 60 seconds to name as many Vols players as he could. Lucky 7 for $50 to Old South Candy. With the president coming to Neyland, getting into the Tennessee–Texas game could take a while. Joey and Nancy passed along UT’s advice to get there early and pack your patience. Nancy got an email saying her son was caught chewing gum in class and spent hours getting ready to talk to him about it. Turns out the school accidentally sent her the same email from last year. Brian Rice joined the show to preview Tennessee–Texas, talk Checker Neyland, and give his odds for a Vols win. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Joey, Nancy, and Karly kicked off the show talking about President Trump’s planned appearance at the Tennessee-Texas game and how it will make an already huge game day even more hectic with Secret Service, extra security, and fans needing to arrive much earlier than usual.  Nancy shared a Facebook Marketplace headache after selling a bathroom vanity in just eight minutes. One potential buyer got sarcastic when she didn’t respond immediately, which led to Nancy venting about the reality of getting flooded with more than 100 messages.  Karly said she’s getting back into gymnastics after time away from injuries and recently started doing handstands, cartwheels, and back tucks again. While her joints have held up surprisingly well, her muscles are definitely feeling the effects.  The crew debated whether it’s okay to bring an iced coffee into a job interview. Nancy said it comes across as unprofessional and distracted, while Joey wondered if drinks have become a personal accessory for many applicants.  Hot Tea: New court filings revealed alleged threatening messages from Brian Seaver connected to Dolly Parton’s estate, while Frieda Parton insisted there’s no family feud. Ella Langley and Tucker Wetmore are reportedly dating. Woody Harrelson claims he’s convinced his father and Matthew McConaughey’s mother had a relationship years ago.  Lucky 7 for $50 to Old South Candy   The show circled back to President Trump’s visit to Neyland Stadium, with Joey, Nancy, and Karly wondering how Secret Service will handle over 100,000 fans and joking about whose luxury box might get taken over.  Karly discovered "call the animal cracker company" on Joey’s to-do list. Joey explained that several animal cracker bags in a box weren’t sealed correctly, and he planned to contact customer service to see if they’d make it right.  Group Therapy featured Kelly, whose boyfriend still sleeps with a childhood teddy bear named Smokey and even takes it on vacations. Most callers thought it was more sweet than strange, and the conversation quickly turned into jokes about Smokey becoming part of the relationship.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Joey and Nancy joked about the huge crowds expected at McGhee Tyson Airport for the Tennessee-Texas weekend and somehow ended up talking about missing 13th floors, airport signs, and cell phone lots.  Joey praised a pest control technician who went above and beyond, saying it's become so rare for someone to simply do their job well that it feels extraordinary.  Hot Tea: Dolly Parton’s estate has reportedly been granted a restraining order against her nephew and former security chief after allegations of threats against employees. Ella Langley’s “You Look Like You Love Me” broke Mariah Carey’s record for the longest-running No. 1 by the Billboard Hot 100. Freedom Fest in Kentucky was canceled after only 6 VIP tickets sold.  Lucky 7 for $50 to Old South Candy  The show’s “Bang for Your Buck” contest featured Leslie and Kristy cutting their own bangs blindfolded with kindergarten scissors. Leslie won Ella Langley tickets by a single point, 29-28, and both women received salon makeovers from Grow Knoxville.  Nancy compared a dental appointment to medieval torture, which led to a funny conversation about medical procedures that still seem unnecessarily primitive.  On “What Makes You Special,” Joey correctly guessed viral social media star Nate the Hoof Guy. Nate explained how trimming dairy cow hooves turned into a social media following of nearly 10 million people.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The family cleared the practice board during a Zoom audition and is now waiting to hear back.  Hot Tea: Dolly Parton's nephew was reportedly removed from his longtime security role, Shaquille O'Neal became an honorary FBI special agent and joked about arresting Charles Barkley, and a fake police officer got arrested after calling real cops for backup.  Karly's dad joined the show to defend buying arrowheads, nunchucks, and a katana on Facebook Marketplace. Joey and Nancy also learned he's a state-record fisherman, archery champion, and former speed-skating champion.  Lucky 7 for $50 to Old South Candy   The show introduced Leslie and Kristy, the contestants for tomorrow's "Bangs for Your Buck" contest, where they'll cut their own bangs blindfolded for Ella Langley tickets.  Joey's wife called in after hearing him talk on-air about convincing her to go on a cruise. Nancy went to see Tracy Byrd at the Tennessee Valley Fair and came back declaring him a “tall drink of water.” Her son Ben won a goldfish and released it into a pond.  Karly discovered a new Walmart app feature while looking for sidewalk chalk. The app can now flash the digital price tag of the item you're searching for, making it much easier to find products on crowded shelves.  Monday Morning Wake-Up Call  Nancy was thrilled to learn Capri Sun is testing a giant 20-ounce pouch. That launched a discussion about oversized versions of favorite snacks, including giant gummy bears, Reese’s cups, Oreo cookies, and Nancy’s dream sheet pan of Fruity Pebble Rice Krispie treats.  Hot Tea: Google briefly and incorrectly listed both Megan Moroney and Billy Joel as deceased before quickly correcting the error. Princess Diana’s brother is making headlines with claims about King Charles in a new book. An AI actress named Tilly Norwood glitched during a live interview and suddenly started speaking Cantonese.  A TikTok creator went viral after realizing that selecting “cash back” at the grocery store doesn’t give shoppers free money from coupons. Karly also tried unsuccessfully to convince Joey and Nancy to camp out overnight for College GameDay. A caller who is also a travel agent recommended booking a room on a lower, middle section of the ship to reduce motion sickness and even recorded a personal message encouraging Josta to give cruising another chance.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
