Mom and Grandma are back from their Georgia adventure, and apparently they packed a LOT into one trip. 😂 They visited Dublin and Juliette, Georgia, made a stop at the real-life inspiration behind Fried Green Tomatoes, and Grandma even made friends with the rancher who puts on the whole festival. We also get into haunted houses and the one that scared Hannah so badly when she was just 13... because apparently childhood trauma makes great podcast content. Similarly, Barbi talks about one that she went to when she was just four that she STILL remembers! Hannah takes us back to her own high school Halloweens, when instead of trick-or-treating, she would collect nonperishable food for local homeless and women's shelters. And while we're talking about the South, we have to discuss the problem with kudzu... because if you know, you KNOW. 😂 For The Rest of the Story, we're telling the story of an ordinary North Carolina farm boy who grew up milking cows, reluctantly went to a revival as a teenager, and ultimately spent his life sharing the Gospel with hundreds of millions of people around the world. This week, we're covering the important things in life: church pews, clogged toilets, Mickey Mouse, Bass Pro Shops, and why you should NEVER show up to Hannah's house early. 😂 Mario and Juli somehow ended up with one of the pews from our old church in their house, which sends us down memory lane before we move on to a much more pressing question: what do married couples do about bathroom situations they simply do not discuss? Because when the toilet is clogged and you can't fix it yourself... eventually, somebody has to confess. 😂 Isla has been sick, but Hannah, Barbi, Casey, and Zane have officially perfected the sick kid setup, complete with measured medicine, documentation, and a system that makes those miserable nights just a little easier. Then it's time for The Rest of the Story, and this week we're going back to a teenage boy who lied about his age, headed overseas, drove ambulances in postwar France, and spent his spare time drawing. And unlike last week... Mom DIDN'T figure this one out until the end. 👏😂 We also have a very important update from HB, who has officially made his podcast debut talking about his favorite place: the fish store. You may know it as Bass Pro Shops. Mom has also decided that instead of buying the grandkids more toys, we're giving them “no no” gifts this year: spray bottles, cardboard boxes, canes, Grandma's glasses, magnifying glasses... basically all the things they're constantly being told they can't play with. Honestly? She may be onto something. Plus, Rocky VI is coming out and we're all excited! On top of that, we're talking about Mom's dream for a truly hometown Jacksonville radio station... If your invitation doesn't include a plus one, is it okay to ask for one? How much does each wedding guest actually cost? What happens when someone doesn't show up? The fan favorite is BACK. ❤️ This week, Grandma Jann pulled up a chair, let her guard down, and gave us the completely unfettered, unfiltered version of herself... and honestly, we could have listened to her all day. 😂 We talked about the good old days, the stories that have been told a hundred times, the ones we somehow had never heard before, and all the little pieces of our lives that have been intertwined across three generations. And somewhere along the way, Grandma apparently decided she had absolutely nothing to hide, which made this one of the funniest and most genuine conversations we've ever had with her. There are stories, memories, lots of laughing, a little reminiscing, and plenty of moments where we remembered exactly why Grandma Jann is a fan favorite. This episode doesn't really feel like an interview. It feels like sitting around the kitchen table with your mom and your grandma, talking about life until you realize hours have gone by. This week, Hannah is settling into her new HR role, and let’s just say… work is workin’. 😂 There’s a lot going on, she’s learning a ton, and some days are just a little more stressful than others. Meanwhile, we have some questions about delivery services, accountability, and why getting something delivered when they said it would be delivered apparently feels like asking for a miracle. Then things get medical... sort of. Hannah tells us about a pimple situation that went VERY wrong, Mom shares what happened to Dr. Pimple Popper, and somehow we also end up discussing anesthesiologists, back problems, and Hannah's return to retainers after pretending they didn't exist for entirely too long. But there are sweet moments too. We talk about answered prayers, including Hannah's retainer saga and one of Mom's favorite stories about praying over Grandma's missing keys. HB has also apparently developed a caffeine vocabulary, because he knows exactly what Mom and Grandma mean when they start talking about getting coffee. 😂 Mom gives us an update from Madison, Florida, introduces us to her latest obsession with the woodpeckers at the backyard bird feeder, and we recap our Harry Potter movie night, complete with foods that had names almost as entertaining as the movie.
