Description

Two PhD theologians with tendencies towards red wine, real scotch, and hilarious (humble) banter tackle your theological questions as well as our own day to day musings. Sounds like a good time to me (humbly). All opinions, thoughts, terrible jokes, etc are our own and not representative of our respective institutions.

The One Where We Give Men a 2 On Yelp
2026/10/15
We are back from Theology Beer Camp, and we've got the tea! And by that we mean, we chat a bit about what we did, what we liked, who we missed, and how great it was being in a sorority house. And then, our annual tradition of answering the remaining Hot Ones questions! Come listen, and keep an eye out for the release of the panels we were on at TBC. They were really great!
The One Where Leah is Sucking on a Lemon
2026/09/23
Old age has hit us hard, and we thought it was a good idea to be theologians about it. Come listen as we talk about health, what it means to care for ourselves well, issues in religion and wellness, etc. It is also timely! AAR Southeast (of which Leah is the prez) has a call for papers on this very topic! If you want to be extra nerdy and come to this very fun and welcoming conference, go visit the website to see the call for papers or to just register as an attendee! https://relse.org/
The One Where The B's Are BACK
2026/09/16
It has been 84 years, but y'all WE ARE BACK! We also were really ambitious and tried our first Instagram live, so you will get to hear us panic and struggle. But we succeeded, and we had a great time chatting about life lately. And then things got sad, as we grieve the loss of our dear Dolly Parton and Tim Curry. We are excited to be back with you all again!
The One Where We Do the Time Warp Again (again)
2026/04/25
This episode has everything. Hot tubs. Psych evals. Rocky Horror. Ghosts. The existential dread of being wrong. The liberating feeling of being comfortable with being wrong. And spritzers. Also, big (not entirely shocking) announcements and teasers!
The One Where the Fundamental Force Is With Us
2026/04/17
Leah and Stuart co-wrote an article on religion and Star Wars! In the forthcoming Encyclopedia of Religion and Pop Culture, all three of us will have contributions and we'll give you all the info when it comes out!
The One With Theologian Superlatives: Part 2
2026/04/03
We're back with another round of theologian superlatives! Also, chaos. There's some chaos. Kristy blames the mockingbirds.
The One Where We Take Off Our Pants and Jackets
2026/03/13
We know, it's a long one, but it's worth it! Josh Patterson from ReThinking Faith joins us as well as the FIRST EVER appearance by everyone's favorite STUART! We gathered our most emo selves and talk about music, mental health, love, joy, and all things emotional. And get ready, cause we've got a playlist coming!
The One Where We Go Down Yonder On the Chattahooche
2026/03/06
Leah is developing a unit for AAR on Religion in the American South, so we're here promoting it! Also because we just did papers on it, and there were other really good papers, and you get to hear all about it. Snake handling, surveillance, Southern Gothic lit? Sounds like a TotR episode to me!
The One Where We Walk With a Bunch of Dudes
2026/02/26
I think this is becoming a mancast....brocast? We've finally made it. We still don't know how to have intro music, though. Join us as we have Nick Polk of Tolkien Pop! We talk about a lot of things, because we forgot we were on a podcast again. But one of those things is, shockingly, Tolkien. Also Wuthering Heights. And a little smattering of Bible! And go follow Nick (@njspolk) wherever you socialize.
The One With Theologian Superlatives (Part 1)
2026/02/19
We're starting a new series! It's called "Theologian Superlatives", where we assign theologian to those old high school superlatives like "Most Dependable" (which was what Leah won). We also got intro music! Shout out to Michael Morelli for our 80s vibe!

2026/02/05
We have guests this episode! Will Rose, influencer extraordinaire, and Thomas Johnston, the young one, come to talk about their new podcast "Your Matter Matters"! They talk about faith and science, answering some big questions about life and how we understand it, so go check them out, too! And come listen here to learn how to summon us, and what songs to play as we meet our maker.
The One Where We Give Marx a Haircut
2026/01/30
Stuart cut Leah's hair, so we figured we'd just go deep and talk about heaven and earth and cosmetology and where we go from here. Exciting updates and of course our usual humble selves.
The One Where We Hate Horse Bronco Hat
2026/01/24
In true TotR fashion, the beginning is hilarious chaos, just like the title. And then we put on our theology aunt hats to talk about resistance.
The One Where We Have Mid Life Crises and Cut Bangs
2026/01/09
Don't worry, only Kristy has bangs (fringe). But Leah used to. We also continue our twin flame journey by having similar New Year themes, similar glasses, and similar freak outs. 2026 sucks already, but we're here to help.
