1 Corinthians 2:1-5 | The Not-So-Secret Sauce of Paul's Evangelism
2026/09/27
Churches rarely die all at once; they fade when disciples stop making disciples. And for many Christians, that tension lands in the same place every time: fear, hesitation, and the temptation to let someone else speak for Christ. Paul’s example in 1 Corinthians 2 forces the issue down to the level of ordinary obedience. This message presses past polish, personality, and technique to ask what actually makes evangelism effective, and why weakness may be less of a barrier than we think. Along the way, it confronts delay, Christian jargon, fear of rejection, and the subtle habit of resting confidence in human ability instead of God’s power. The result is not a formula, but a searching call to open your mouth, get to Christ quickly, and trust the Lord to do what only He can do. 00:00 Introduction 05:59 Scripture Reading 12:40 Go to them. 19:49 Drop the pretense. 28:12 Preach Christ crucified. 41:40 Welcome your weakness. 44:08 Point them to God’s power.
1 Corinthians 1:30-31 | What's The Big Deal about Being in Christ?
2026/09/20
Plenty of things compete to define you: success, family, reputation, failure, even your own past. But if the most important thing about you is whether or not you are in Christ, every other identity has to move down the list. This episode lingers over Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 1:30–31 and presses the question: what’s the big deal about being in Christ? The sermon traces how God gives believers a standing they could never earn, then asks what that standing should change about everyday life. Along the way, it confronts false confidence, shallow boasting, and the temptation to treat grace as permission to drift. If your assurance feels thin or your identity feels scattered, this message aims straight at the center.00:00 Introduction: What’s the Big Deal About Being in Christ? 04:22 Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 1:30–31 06:05 Humbly wonder at your position in Christ 20:10 I want you to live like you are in Christ 37:41 I want you to put your full confidence in your standing with Christ 49:23 Gospel Call 50:27 Closing Prayer
1 Corinthians 1:26-29 | Your Story, God's Glory
2026/09/13
We assume the people who matter most are the people with influence, pedigree, and power. But the gospel confronts that instinct by showing that God saves in a way that leaves no room for human boasting. Walking through 1 Corinthians 1:26–29, this message turns our attention away from status and back to grace. It traces the kind of people God chooses, the way He overturns the world’s wisdom, and the reason He does it that way: so that all the glory belongs to Him. Along the way, it challenges the listener to stop measuring life by worldly categories and to remember that grace is not only what saves us, but what sustains us. It also presses the church outward, calling Christians to tell their story so that others hear about Christ. 00:00 Introduction 01:59 Scripture Reading 04:02 Consider the type of people God chose to save 15:34 See how God overturns the world's wisdom 32:29 Never get over God's saving grace 49:14 Closing Exhortation and Prayer
1 Corinthians 1:21-25 | The Foolishness of God
2026/09/06
The world looks at Christians and sees a group of wise fools, people staking everything on a 2,000-year-old book and a Savior who died as a criminal between two thieves. And according to Scripture, that misunderstanding is not an accident. Paul tells the Corinthians that the world's failure to reason its way to God is exactly what God intended. The Jews demanded signs, the Greeks demanded wisdom, and both got a crucified Messiah instead. This message walks through why God frustrates human wisdom, what the cross exposes about every other path to God, and why the church so often falls silent in front of a world that calls the gospel moronic. If the gospel is the one thing that can pull people out of the wreck they are in, why are we standing by watching them try everything else? 00:00 Introduction: Wise Fools 03:03 Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 1:21-25 06:09 Realize that God sets the terms for salvation 20:20 Be grateful God wrote the gospel, not us 32:53 Don't let the world skew your confidence in the gospel 40:58 Communion and Closing Prayer
1 Corinthians 1:18–20 | Why Unbelievers Won’t Listen (Pastor Rod Gomez)
2026/08/30
You want your neighbor to hear the gospel, so you round off the hard edges. Hell doesn't come up. Neither does the part where your Savior hung naked on a cross. That feels like wisdom. Paul calls it emptying the cross of its power. The Corinthians had the same instinct. They wanted Paul to dress the message up for people who prized eloquence, to give them something closer to a TED Talk. He told them he couldn't do it, and his reason runs counter to most of what we assume about persuading anyone of anything. Two errors are at play, and a sincere Christian can commit both out of love. One is about what quietly embarrasses you. The other is about what quietly impresses you. 00:00 Introduction: A Shaping Experience 05:03 Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 1:17–20 07:15 You should not be ashamed of the gospel because it's God's power 18:38 The gospel is effective to save the lost 27:46 Don't be impressed by the world 33:50 The world's wisdom is transient 40:05 Closing: Spurgeon's Conversion
1 Corinthians 1:10-17 | Fight Together: The Battle Worth Fighting
2026/08/23
What tears a church apart when everyone still says they love Jesus? If you think division is something that happens somewhere else, this sermon presses you to see how quickly a healthy church can unravel when believers start fighting over people, preferences, and side issues instead of the gospel. 00:00:00 A Church Undone by Division 00:04:36 1 Corinthians 1:10-17 00:07:25 Preserve Local Church Unity 00:16:50 Unity Is Not Uniformity 00:25:15 Quarreling in Corinth 00:27:21 Don't Let Favorites Divide 00:39:55 The Battle Worth Fighting 00:41:58 The Gospel Saves 00:49:17 Keep Us United

2026/08/09
A church can be busy, growing, and full of good things, yet still needs to ask whether it is becoming what God intends. When preferences, personalities, and assumptions start to shape the answer, the deeper question comes into view: what is the church, and who gets to define it? 00:00 Introduction 19:03 Recognize the Church belongs to God 29:16 We need to see that the church consists of Christians 38:03 Realize that the church is bigger than us 46:49 Closing
