Makhulu & Me
2026/09/30
"Makhulu" / "Grandmother": It is the direct term used for one's grandmother (my father's mother). Mine joined us on this week's episode and I could not be happier. For a long time, I've hoped to share her in this very specific way because her words, lessons and values have stuck with me throughout my life. After losing her husband, my grandfather, in 2005 - we still got to experience this resilient woman even in grief and independence. A special moment I will cherish forever is her traveling to Washington D.C for my Masters graduation. A love so deep, so dedicated, so consistent and I get to archive a conversation for myself, and for you. She shares a few of the top lessons she believes we should know right now. From discussing hypersensitive people, to anecdotes about growing up with an illiterate yet strong and wise mother- we really get into a lot of it in this conversation and more. Happy listening my people, and remember: SEND THOSE VNs TO THE DMs. Love from me and my Makhulu xx
thoughts from eastern cape
2026/09/18
My people, how are you doing? Update: I'm on 'vacation' again hahaha. I rarely ask you this question and it's simply because this weeks episode taps into the stillness that I have intentionally chased, leading me to the Eastern Cape province in South Africa. I have the privilege of visiting my grandmother here and the exploring my transition outside of my comfort zone. Away from the distractions, familiarity, sameness and straight into a quaint town that has been home to me my entire life. And into the arms of this tiny, strong and God-fearing woman. What a joy! This week, I invite you to take a beat and enjoy this episode during that morning run, workout, tea, chores, drive, and check in with yourself. It's a crazy time to be alive and this trip has allowed me to remember that that is not the entirety of my life. Craziness is not all there is during shifts and you are 1000% allowed to enjoy that truth. Happy listening and remember to send your VNs to the DMs! Love you all and God bless xoxo
sometimes, be mean
2026/09/02
Sometimes Be Mean There's a version of protectiveness that doesn't get talked about enough. Not protecting yourself from other people. Protecting the things you care about from a world that will pick them apart if you let it. In this episode, I get into the moments that taught me this the hard way. The times I softened something that mattered because I didn't want to seem too intense, too sure, too much. And what it cost me when I did. Being mean, here, isn't about cruelty. It's about having a hard edge for the things that deserve protecting. Your work. Your peace. Your people. The parts of your life you're still building and don't need everyone's opinion on. So take a deep breath before you press play. This one might ask something of you. It asks you to figure out what you're actually willing to defend. Happy listening my People! Much love and speak to you in 2 weeks xoxo
building blocks for self trust feat. Somelezo Jezile
2026/08/12
Self-trust is such a huge theme lately and I got a chance to chat to my cousin Somelezo about it. This episode, I'm joined by my cousin for a real conversation about what actually builds self-trust: actually going through things, family ties, a solid community, and having someone who'll talk things through with you without judgment. We get into the relationships that help us heal. The most important being one with yourself. We talk about needing people to bounce ideas off when your own head gets loud. And we're honest about the battles that happen in our own minds, because half the time what's keeping us stuck isn't out there. It's the story we keep repeating to ourselves. This one's a reminder. You're allowed to need an out sometimes. A different angle on your own life. Someone safe to say the quiet part to. Permission to pause and go easier on yourself. Happy listening and have an amazing one My people!
radical/being
2026/07/30
What if the most radical thing you could do this week is simply let yourself be? In this episode of Flow with Lo', host Loyiso "Lo'" Mtshontshi sits with the practice of radical being — existing as you were made, without editing yourself for anyone's comfort. She talks candidly about the power of leaning into feeling instead of holding it at a distance, and some hard, honest truths about what it costs to live in opposition to your own nature. Lo' also opens up about relationships, tracing patterns of love all the way back to what we learned as young as childhood. And she offers a gentle but powerful reframe: when we watch someone simply be who they are, it isn't a verdict on us. It's just data. Not a reflection of our own worth, just information about them, and about what we need. This episode is an invitation. To feel more. To perform less. To be a little kinder to the person you already are. 🎧 Listen now on Flow with Lo'.
my love metaphysics
2026/07/15
What if love isn't something we choose — but something we're chosen by? In this episode of Flow with Lo', host Loyiso "Lo' sits with a question she didn't expect to be asking: what does it mean to actually embody love, not just feel it? Sparked by a recent read of Paulo Coelho and a season of life that's demanded more surrender than certainty, Lo' unpacks what she's calling the metaphysics of love — the idea that love isn't a soft, optional detour in our lives, but an involuntary current pulling us toward growth, toward evolution, toward something larger than the self we started out as. This isn't a conversation about romance as performance. It's about love as initiation — the kind that cracks you open on the way to becoming who you're meant to be. Lo' gets honest about her own unfolding: the exploration, the discomfort, the moments love asked more of her than she thought she had to give. If you've ever felt love rearrange you before you understood why — this episode meets you there. 🎧 Tune in to Flow with Lo' and share your VNs to the DMs.

Leaning into me/you
2026/07/01
My People, my People — We're back with a new cadence, walking into July under one theme: let's try it differently. This episode traces a thread that runs all the way back to 2018 — my first year of uni, when I was, without even knowing it, at my most present. Most embracing of myself and the world around me. Lately, through different content, different perspectives, and just paying attention to what this season is asking of me, I've been finding my way back to that version of me. Leaning Into Me/You is about presence — being fully in what I am, fully with those around me, and figuring out what that coexistence actually looks like. It's about the freedom that shows up on the other side of a transformative mind, an open heart, and a little poetry. That's what I'm signing up for, for the rest of the year — held with intention, but never limited by it. So sit back, or take me on your run — either way, get in. We're flowing with Lo'. Happy listening, and love from me to you. 🤍
love/actions/seasons
2026/06/17
What does love actually look like right now? Not in theory, not someday, but in this exact season of my life. That's what I'm sitting with in this episode, and honestly it felt necessary to talk about. I get into the wise words that have been grounding me lately, the ones I keep coming back to when things feel heavy or uncertain. And I'm being real about where I am personally, what this moment means to me and what I'm learning about myself through it. Community also comes up in a big way. Not the surface level kind, but the kind that's actually functional, actually reliable, actually there. For me, that's one of the truest measures of a life well lived. And I've been thinking a lot about what it costs to be a real participant in that, to show up with love and intention for the people who matter. We get into all of it. Come sit with me. Happy listening, send those VN's to the DM's, and love you all loads!
Pruning & Validation
2026/03/16
Pour your coffee. Lace up those sneakers. Buckle the kids in. Hit play. This is Flow with Lo' - where personal growth meets real talk, where community happens in your earbuds, where Loyiso Lo' creates space for conversations that stay with you long after the episode ends. Today? We're talking about pruning. And Lo' is not easing you into this one. Cutting off is hard. Full stop. Whether it's a friendship, a community, or even a version of yourself you once held onto tightly - separating from things you deeply aligned with at some point is one of the most painful things a person can do. But it is necessary. And as a Christian, Lo' has found that Scripture doesn't shy away from this truth either - it leans right into it. This episode is personal. Lo' opens up her own life, her own losses, her own moments of having to choose growth over comfort. The kind of stories that make you feel less alone in your own quiet struggles. She also unpacks this word that's been following her around lately - validation - and why it means something completely different depending on who you ask. This one has been on Lo's heart for weeks. You'll feel it. There is no easy way through. But there is a way through. Flow with Lo' - Where we remember each other's humanity, one episode at a time. 📲 @flowithloyiso & @loyiso_chuma
Job & Me
2026/03/02
If you have heard the story about Job in the Bible, you will expect a simple one. A story about a man who was tested to then ends by the devil, which was permitted by God, and then experienced restoration by tenfold. But there is so much more to that story. Lessons, and thoughts and ideas that are solely for you, listening to this episode. Hangout with me as I, Loyiso Lo', chat through this topic of suffering, and belief, and faith, and hope, and all the things this episode has in store for you. It is a raw episode and has limited editing. The point is the message and I know it will resonate differently with me even when I play it back. But in a way that is necessary and God-coded.  I love you all and happy listening
'Can I get a Hall Pass?'
2026/01/26
Flow with Lo' - Episode: "Can I Get a Hall Pass?" Pour your coffee. Lace up those sneakers. Buckle the kids in. Hit play. This is Flow with Lo' - your companion for the morning commute, the workout that clears your head, the cleaning session that somehow becomes therapy. This is where personal growth meets real talk, where community happens in your earbuds, where Loyiso Lo' creates space for conversations that stay with you long after the episode ends. Today's chat? We're diving into "Ngicela i'Visa?" - a South African show that asks a question most of us are too afraid to whisper out loud. On the surface, it's about hall passes. About permission. About stepping outside the lines we've drawn around our lives and relationships. Your mind goes exactly where you think it goes - loyalty, cheating, the whole messy spectrum of human desire. But here's where it gets interesting. What if the real conversation isn't about betrayal at all? What if it's about something we rarely admit - that the person you committed to is still... a person? Full. Complex. Growing. Wanting. Not just the role they fill in your life, but an entire human being with an inner world that doesn't stop existing because they said "I do." And yes - Lo' has thoughts. Real ones. Personal ones. The kind that come from living, not just observing. This isn't commentary from the sidelines. This is Lo' walking you through her own perspective, unfiltered and unapologetic. You might agree. You might not. But you'll respect the honesty. This episode explores the uncomfortable space between honoring who you are and honoring what you've promised. Between seeing yourself and seeing others. Between the roles we play and the people we remain underneath them all. We're not here to judge. We're not here to give answers. We're here to sit in the questions that make us squirm a little. The ones that make us think. The ones that remind us we're all just trying to figure this out. So settle in. Let Lo' guide the flow. And maybe - just maybe - you'll walk away understanding something you never thought you could. Welcome to the conversation. Flow with Lo' - Where we remember each other's humanity, one episode at a time.
January Judge-less
2026/01/16
Happy New Year, my people! Season 3 is in full swing and honestly? I'm just happy to be here with you all again. This episode hits differently because it started where most of my best conversations do—with myself. I've been out here socializing more, connecting more, and somewhere in all of that, I realized I was carrying something heavy: judgment. And not just me—we all were. The tricky part? We don't always see it. It hides behind justifications, ego, and this idea of "who we are" that keeps us from admitting what's really going on. So in this episode, we're talking about judgment, self-awareness, and what it looks like to actually move through these patterns with the people we love. It's layered, it's honest, and it's a reminder that growth doesn't have to be perfect—it just has to keep moving forward. Fall forward if you have to. Just keep going, my people. Tune in and let's grow together. Instagram: @flowithloyiso x @loyiso_chuma
