126: This Wasn't Part of The Plan
2026/10/06
If you had asked me a year ago what I thought our life would look like today, I don't think I would have gotten much of it right. So much changed that I didn't plan for—our home, work, school, family rhythms, and what I thought the future would look like. And for a while, I kept thinking that once we got through the next thing, life would finally feel settled again. But somewhere along the way, I started realizing that being rooted isn't the same thing as having a settled life. In the very first episode of Live Rooted, I'm sharing what this past year has taught me about holding my plans a little more loosely, making decisions that are right for our family, trusting God when I can't see what He's doing, and learning to be present in the life that's happening right in front of me. I'm still learning a lot of this in real time. I don't have a perfect lesson or a five step plan for navigating change. But I'm beginning to understand that a rooted life doesn't have to be an unchanging one. Sometimes the deepest growth is happening underneath the surface in the seasons when we can't see what God is doing yet. If you're walking through a season that looks nothing like you thought it would, this conversation is for you. Live Rooted Trailer
2026/09/22
Hi friends I'm Claudia McDivitt, your host of the Live Rooted podcast. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that life isn't built in the big moments, it's built in the ordinary ones. It's built at dinner around the table, conversations in the car, walks around the neighborhood, baseball games, homeschool mornings, date nights, hard seasons, answered prayers, and the quiet moments when God reminds us He's still at work. To me, living rooted is about how we choose to show up in our everyday lives. We're not chasing perfection or trying to do more. And I'm certainly not here because I have life figured out. I'm here because I believe the small choices we make every day shape the life we're building. It's choosing to be intentional in our marriages, our parenting, our health, our faith, our friendships, and even the really ordinary parts of our days. Because life is always changing, but when we know what we're rooted in, we can grow through every season that comes our way. So grab your coffee, lace up your walking shoes, or settle in for the drive. I'm really thankful you're here, and I hope this podcast encourages you to live deeply, love well, and stay rooted in what matters most. 125: Okay, We Need To Catch Up
2026/09/01
It's been a minute and we have a lot to catch up on. After taking some time away from the podcast, I'm popping back in for a quick life update and to share some pretty exciting changes coming to the show. This summer has held a little bit of everything for our family...the good, the hard, a lot of change, and plenty of moments where we weren't quite sure what was coming next. We've moved, navigated a job transition for Nathan, stepped into a completely new school rhythm with our kids, and learned a whole lot along the way. I'm keeping today's conversation at the 30,000-foot level because there are stories from this season that I'm really looking forward to sharing with you soon. But maybe the biggest update? The podcast is changing, too. Boldly Living Your Everyday is becoming Live Rooted! A place for real life and honest conversations about marriage, motherhood, faith, family, health, changing seasons, and all the things we're figuring out along the way. In this episode, I'm sharing a little of where we've been, why this change feels right, and what you can expect when the show officially returns this fall. A few dates to remember: September 22 — The new Live Rooted trailer releases October 6 — Live Rooted officially begins with When Life Doesn't Go as Planned October 6–November 24 — New episodes every Tuesday for our first 8-week run I'm really thankful you're still here. I can't wait for what's ahead. Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/liverootedpodcast/
124: Life Update Before Taking A Podcast Break
2026/05/19
I'm sharing a personal life update and giving you a little behind the scenes look at what this season has looked like for our family. From selling my mom's house, selling our house, buying a new one, moving, and transitioning one kid into hybrid school, this year has been full of big decisions, unexpected emotions, and moments that have stretched me in ways I didn't expect. It's been one of those seasons where life feels both exciting and overwhelming at the same time, and I wanted to sit down and share a 30,000 foot view of what the last several months have looked like for us. More than anything, this episode is about what the Lord is teaching me in the middle of change, uncertainty, and transition. I'm sharing some honest reflections about trust, faith, priorities, and learning to walk faithfully even when there are so many moving pieces. If you're in a season that feels heavy, busy, or full of decisions, I hope this conversation encourages you to slow down, breathe, and remember that God is present in all of it. I'll be taking a podcast break for the summer, but I'm excited to be back this fall with fresh episodes and conversations. Thank you for being here and for being part of this community! 123: Who Do You Want To Be This Summer?
2026/05/12
Summer's coming which means a change in pace, routine, and energy. But before life speeds up (or slows way down), this is your moment to pause and ask a powerful question: "Who do I want to be this summer?" In today's episode, we're shifting the focus away from to-do lists and packed calendars and onto you. How do you want to feel in your body? What kind of energy do you want to bring into your home? And what small, intentional choices will help you become that version of yourself? If you're craving a summer that feels aligned, peaceful, and more grounded (without starting over in the fall), this episode is your reset. In this episode, we're talking about: Why so many women end up feeling disconnected during summer The identity-shaping question that changes everything How to reset your energy and mindset without an overhaul 3 steps to align with the version of you that feels like you This episode is for the woman who's ready to show up with intention without burning out! 122: 3 Healthy Habits for Busy Women Who Don't Have Extra Time
2026/04/28
In this episode, I'm sharing three simple, practical habits that can help you stay consistent with your health when life gets busy. Many women feel like they need more time, a perfect routine, or extra motivation to take care of themselves, but the truth is that a few foundational habits can make a big difference even during the busiest seasons of life. Instead of overcomplicating things, focusing on a few key behaviors can help you stay on track and feel better day to day. I'm talking about the habits that I personally lean on when schedules get full, including planning meals ahead of time, choosing movement that fits your life, and being intentional about rest. These simple strategies help remove decision fatigue and make healthy choices easier, even when you're juggling work, family, and everything else on your plate. If you've been feeling off track or overwhelmed, this episode will encourage you to simplify and focus on what truly works. Want support on your own journey? Learn more about coaching HERE! 121: Motherhood From The Sidelines: What Sports Mom Life Is Teaching Me
2026/04/21
In this episode, I'm sharing a personal reflection on sports mom life and the lessons it's teaching me about motherhood. A lot of this season of life is spent on the sidelines. At baseball fields, soccer fields, and in the car driving to practices and games. While it can feel busy and full at times, it's also given me a front row seat to watch my kids try hard things, grow in confidence, and learn important life lessons through sports. I'm talking about the things this season is teaching me about showing up, being present, and appreciating the moments that can sometimes feel chaotic but are actually incredibly meaningful. If you're in a busy season of motherhood, this episode is a reminder that even the sidelines can hold some of the most special moments. Want support on your own journey? 120: Navigating Loss While Focusing On Your Health With Jaime Winfree
2026/04/14
Grief has a way of shaking everything, our routines, our emotions, and even our sense of self. When life hits hard, how do you keep showing up for yourself without guilt? How do you hold onto your health and well-being while walking through unimaginable loss? In today's episode, I'm joined by my dear friend and longtime client, Jaime Winfree. Jaime has been on a health journey with me since 2020, seeing incredible results and feeling her best. But over the past two years, she's faced heartbreaking loss. Two being her brother's leukemia diagnosis (now in remission, by God's grace) and losing her dad after a long battle with ALS. Jaime knows firsthand how easy it is to put yourself last in seasons of grief. But she's also learned how to extend grace, prioritize her well-being, and navigate loss without losing herself. Her story is one of resilience, faith, and choosing joy even in the hardest moments. If you've ever walked through a season of loss or felt like you couldn't prioritize yourself when life got hard, this episode is for you. Jaime's story will encourage you, challenge you, and remind you that taking care of yourself isn't selfish, it's necessary. Want support on your own journey? Learn more about coaching HERE! 119: Living Well In The Season You're In
2026/04/07
In this episode, I'm sharing a personal conversation about what it looks like to live well in the season you're actually in. Life doesn't always slow down the way we think it will, and many of us spend time waiting for things to get easier before we prioritize our health, habits, or happiness. But the truth is, every season comes with its own responsibilities, challenges, and opportunities for growth. Instead of wishing life looked different, we can learn to be intentional with the season we're in right now. I'm talking about what this season of life looks like for me balancing motherhood, work, and busy sports schedules and how I'm learning to prioritize the things that help me show up as my best self. This episode is an encouragement to stop waiting for the "perfect time" and start making small, meaningful choices that support your health, mindset, and overall well-being today. 118: The Long Game Of Parenting With Rhonda Hunter & Sydney Smith
2026/03/31
In this episode, I'm joined by my dear friends Rhonda Hunter and Sydney Smith for an honest, meaningful conversation about parenting in a way that cultivates lasting relationships. I've known Sydney since she was in sixth grade and now she's married. Watching the relationship she has with her parents, along with the strong relationships Rhonda has with all three of her children, has always stood out to me. Not because it was perfect or easy but because it was intentional, honest, and rooted in connection. Together, we talk about what it really takes to build healthy parent–child relationships over time, especially through the harder seasons. This is a conversation about choosing connection over control, repairing when things go wrong, and playing the long game of parenting. This episode isn't about getting parenting "right." It's about building relationships that last through honesty, humility, and intentional connection. Whether you're parenting young kids, navigating the teen years, or raising adult children, this conversation offers encouragement, perspective, and hope. 117: Finding Peace In This Season Of Parenting
2026/03/24
Parenting a 10  and 7 year-old comes with a new kind of weight and a new kind of growth. This season asks for different choices, deeper trust, and a willingness to do what's best for your kids even when it's hard. In this episode, I'm sharing an honest, open conversation about what it looks like to find peace in the middle of everyday parenting. Not because everything feels easy but because your choices are rooted in intention. In this episode, we talk about: Understanding the season of parenting you're in right now Making hard decisions that serve your kids' long-term growth Taking steps of faith even when parenting choices feel scary Loving your kids well for who they are now, not who they used to be This episode is a reminder that peace in parenting doesn't come from getting everything right. It comes from presence, alignment, and trusting yourself as you grow alongside your kids. Want support on your own journey? Learn more about coaching HERE! 116: My Mom's Story: 28 Years Sober Today With Lynne Smith
2026/03/17
Last year I released this episode of my mom's story and it encouraged so many of you. I wanted to re-release it today as my mom is celebrating another year of being drug and alcohol free. This episode is incredibly special because I'm talking with my mom, Lynne Smith, to have an open and raw conversation about her journey with alcoholism and 28 years of sobriety. She has walked through some incredibly difficult seasons, but she is an overcomer. Her story is one of resilience, transformation, and hope, and I'm so grateful she's sharing it with us today. In this episode, we talk about: How alcohol impacted her relationships and life The moment she knew she needed to make a change What it took to finally get sober and the challenges of early sobriety The role of support (or lack of it) in her journey How she handles triggers 28 years later The advice she would give to someone struggling with addiction today If you or someone you love has struggled with addiction, I pray this episode brings encouragement, hope, and the reminder that change is possible. 114: Balancing A Career And Motherhood With Lauren Goad
2026/03/03
In today's episode, I'm sitting down with my friend Lauren, a mom of two and a realtor in our community for a conversation that feels both grounding and encouraging. Lauren and her husband Greg were actually the realtors who represented the sellers of the home we live in now, which is how we first connected. Not long after, Greg invited our family to their church, the same church we've been attending for nearly four years. It's one of those reminders that God places people in our lives right when we need them. This episode is conversational, honest, and real. We talk about Lauren's journey into real estate, how motherhood has shaped the way she works, and what it really looks like to balance career, family, and marriage in this season of life. Lauren shares wisdom she's gained along the way, lessons learned through trial and error, and encouragement for moms who feel stretched thin but still want to pursue meaningful work. If you're a mom navigating career and family, wondering how to trust God's timing, or simply craving a conversation that feels like sitting down with a friend this episode is for you.
