Nellie Bly was an American investigative journalist, writer, and pioneering advocate for social reform. She also completed a celebrated journey around the world in 72 days, challenging prevailing assumptions about women's abilities and independence.

His experiments helped establish the importance of comfort, affection, and emotional bonds, although his methods caused significant animal suffering and remain ethically controversial.
The Art of Being Fully Alive — Isadora Duncan & D. H. Lawrence
2026/10/14
What if spiritual awakening isn't about rising above the human experience, but finally allowing yourself to experience it fully? In this Dead Talk, Christy brings in legendary dancer Isadora Duncan and novelist D. H. Lawrence as they reveal the deeper meaning of desire, sensuality, beauty, and the extraordinary force they call aliveness. Their message challenges everything we think we know about detachment, neutrality, and the purpose of physical existence.

Isadora Duncan was an American dancer and choreographer widely recognized as a pioneer of modern dance. She rejected many of the rigid conventions of classical ballet, emphasizing natural movement, emotional expression, freedom, and inspiration drawn from nature.
D. H. Lawrence was an English novelist, poet, essayist, and literary critic. His major works include Sons and Lovers, The Rainbow, Women in Love, and Lady Chatterley's Lover. His writing explored human relationships, sexuality, emotional experience, instinct, and the tensions between industrial society and natural human vitality.
Stop Editing Yourself - Diego Rivera and Zora Neale Hurston
2026/10/05
What if the life you want isn't waiting on the other side of accomplishment, healing, money, approval, or becoming a better version of yourself? Diego Rivera and Zora Neale Hurston arrive with a provocative invitation: trust your appetite for life, notice the ordinary guidance already calling you, and stop confusing the conditions of your life with actual limitation.
Their message is simple and radical: you were worthy of your life before you accomplished a single thing, and freedom begins when you allow yourself to participate in it now.

Why Falling Is Not Failure: Buster Keaton and Heraclitus
2026/09/27
What do a silent-film comedian famous for falling down and a 2,500-year-old philosopher famous for a flowing river have to teach us about freedom? Buster Keaton and Heraclitus arrive with a surprisingly unified message: you are exhausting yourself trying to remain who you think you're supposed to be.
This hilarious and unexpectedly moving Dead Talk explores spiritual performance, emotional honesty, identity, surrender and the freedom to stop correcting every wobble. Sometimes the next version of you isn't born when you get back up—it begins while you're still on the floor wondering what just happened.

Buster Keaton was famous silent-film physical comedian known as “The Great Stone Face” because of his deadpan expression. His comedy repeatedly involved physical chaos: falling, collapsing structures, accidents, unexpected movement and circumstances going spectacularly wrong while he remained engaged with what was happening.
Heraclitus of Ephesus was an ancient Greek philosopher associated with continual change, fire, the Logos, the unity of opposites, and the famous river teaching: “You can't step into a river twice” because the river is no longer the same river, and you are no longer the same person.
Living Without Waiting - Eileen Caddy and Albert Camus
2026/09/20
We think certainty gives us permission to move, but what if waiting for certainty is precisely what keeps us stuck? This Dead Talk explores trust without reassurance, clarity without explanation, and the extraordinary power of taking the next honest step even while doubt is still present.
Eileen Caddy was a spiritual teacher, author, and one of the founders of the Findhorn spiritual community in Scotland. She became particularly associated with receiving practical inner guidance through what she described as the quiet voice within.
Albert Camus was a French-Algerian writer, philosopher, journalist, and Nobel Prize–winning author associated with philosophical explorations of absurdity, revolt, meaning, mortality, and the human condition.

The Life You Haven’t Lived Yet - Julia Child and Samuel Beckett
2026/09/12
What if the empty space in front of you isn't evidence that something is missing, but the place where everything you haven't imagined yet is waiting? In this extraordinary Dead Talk, Julia Child and Samuel Beckett bring two perfectly opposite perspectives together—the freedom not to know and the freedom to participate anyway—revealing why fascination, appetite for life, steadiness in uncertainty, and an unwritten future may be the essential ingredients of an unimaginable life.

Julia Child was an American chef, author, and television personality who became one of the most influential popularizers of French cooking in the United States. In the session, however, her relevance is not primarily culinary. Her life becomes an example of discovery through appetite. She was someone who lived multiple lives within one lifetime, continually encountering changing circumstances and identities while discovering, essentially, “I’m still here.” She understood appetite not merely for food and pleasure but for experience.
Samuel Beckett was an Irish writer, playwright, novelist, and poet, most famously associated with Waiting for Godot. He references his involvement in the French Resistance and the creative period that followed. His presence is almost the energetic opposite of Julia’s: sparse, observant, patient, comfortable with silence, and unwilling to fill empty space simply because emptiness makes us uncomfortable.
The Identity Is Afraid. The Essence Is Not: Henri Nouwen and Rabindranath Tagore
2026/09/06
Henri Nouwen and Rabindranath Tagore bring an unusually intimate message about worthiness, identity, courage, and the way fear interprets reality. This Dead Talk explores why limiting beliefs feel like truth, what healing is not, and how we can begin life through the eyes of our essence rather than the frightened identity.

He wrote extensively about consciousness, nature, humanity, divinity, freedom, beauty, and the relationship between the individual and the universal. He also famously renounced his British knighthood in protest after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and wrote songs that became the national anthems of India and Bangladesh.
Moving Forward Without Guarantees: Rachel Carson and Wangari Maathai
2026/08/29
What if uncertainty isn't the obstacle preventing you from finding your path—but the very condition that allows the path to unfold? In this Dead Talk, Rachel Carson and Wangari Maathai arrive with an unexpected message about money, health, courage, receiving, inspired movement, and why clarity about the next step is far more useful than certainty about the destination.
Rachel Carson
Rachel Carson was an American marine biologist, writer, and conservationist best known for Silent Spring, the landmark book that brought widespread attention to the ecological dangers associated with pesticides such as DDT
Wangari Maathai
Wangari Maathai was a Kenyan environmentalist, political activist, and founder of the Green Belt Movement. She became the first African woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Her work connected environmental restoration with poverty, women's empowerment, food security, health, democracy, and human dignity.

Trust the Unfinished: When Life Comes All at Once w/ John O'Donohue and Tove Jansson
2026/08/22
What if overwhelm isn't caused only by how much is happening, but by the belief that you must hold, process, understand, and resolve each experience before moving to the next one? In this deeply personal Dead Talk, John O'Donohue and Tove Jansson offer two beautifully complementary perspectives on grief, joy, unfinished experiences, identity, obligation, and the unexpected freedom of simply meeting the moment that is happening now.

The Courage to Follow the Call of Your Desires
2026/08/09
What if the reason you feel stuck isn't because you don't know what to do—but because you're waiting for certainty before you move?
In this extraordinary Dead Talk, two of history's greatest poets—Matsuo Bashō and Rainer Maria Rilke—reveal why desire is not a weakness, uncertainty is not a flaw, and the path never appears before the journey begins. If you've ever questioned your purpose, struggled to trust your intuition, or waited for the "right time," this conversation may completely change how you experience your life.

The Cosmic Joke: Why You're Taking Yourself Too Seriously
2026/08/02
What if your greatest source of suffering isn't what happens to you—but the story you create afterward? In this fun and insightful Dead Talk, Gilbert K. Chesterton and Shams (Hafez) dismantle the illusions of seriousness, certainty, and separation, revealing that awakening isn't about escaping life but participating in it more fully. Through humor, paradox, and profound wisdom, they invite us to trade self-protection for curiosity, control for trust, and performance for wholehearted presence.

2026/07/24
What if time isn't something you move through, but something consciousness creates through perspective? In this mind-expanding Dead Talk, Henri Bergson and Jorge Luis Borges reveal why memory is alive, why inspiration may be the voice of future possibility, and why true freedom is never found by changing circumstances—it emerges by expanding awareness until new realities become visible. This conversation offers one of the deepest explorations yet of time, manifestation, and the creative power of perspective.

Your Future Is Calling: Herman Hesse and St. Teresa of Ávila
2026/07/18
What if the future isn't something you have to figure out—but something that's already calling you?
In this extraordinary Dead Talk, Hermann Hesse (Siddhartha, Steppenwolf, The Glass Bead Game) and St. Teresa of Ávila, come to reveal a radically different understanding of purpose, longing, and participation.
Hesse reflects that his lifelong search for truth, authenticity, and self wasn't really about finding answers—it was about following an inner longing that was always leading him into greater expansion. Teresa shares that her deepest spiritual journey wasn't about finding God, but eventually realizing she had spent years searching for the very presence that had been looking through her own eyes all along. Together, they explain that what we experience as curiosity, fascination, longing, delight, and desire are not distractions—they are the language through which life invites us forward.

Becoming No One: Freedom Beyond Identity - Simone de Beauvoir and Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
2026/06/30
What if the greatest limitation in your life isn't your circumstances—but the identity you've spent years building and protecting? In this profound Dead Talk, Simone de Beauvoir and Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj reveal why true freedom isn't found by becoming someone better, but by becoming free enough to stop insisting you are any one thing. Together they uncover the hidden second half of the Hero's Journey, where identity softens, participation replaces self-protection, and life becomes an unfolding expression of consciousness rather than a role to defend.
