Road to WA Women's Track Episode 03 | WA Women's Track Night Training Series | Vic Burrows-Bilton & Angela Boys
2026/10/12
Monday 12th October 2026 Welcome to Episode 03 of Road to WA Women’s Track Night. This series will bring you stories from four women who will be running in the inaugural WA Women’s Track Night. In this episode we’re joined by two more participants taking part in just under two weeks’ time and also chat to Michelle from The Digestion Co about all things nutrition and fueling for runners. Victoria Burrows-Bilton is a mum of four, triathlon teacher and head coach of Girls Like Us Performance. Originally from Yorkshire, Vic was a competitive cross-country and track runner back in the UK before moving into triathlon and longer-distance events. It's been around 20 years since Vic’s last track race, so WA Women's Track Night has inspired her to dust off the interval sessions and get back on the track. Angela Boys grew up surrounded by marathon runners and spent plenty of Sundays at WAMC events as a kid. But rather than follow in the family footsteps, she rebelled against running! It wasn't until after the birth of her second son in 2023 that she properly caught the bug, finding running became her much needed 'me time'. This year she's chasing the WAMC Half Marathon Slam Dunk Medal and joining us for her first-ever track race. -------- This training series is brought to you by the WA Women's Track Night, a celebration of women's running and the community around it. An inclusive event designed to empower women to get on the track. It all happens on Saturday the 24th October at the WA Athletics Stadium from 5pm featuring races under lights, a DJ, food trucks plus much more - creating a real festival atmosphere. Everyone is welcome to come down - so head on down to lift up women's running in WA. The WA Women's Track Night is possible thanks to the support of presenting partner RecLab, and our community partners Ogging, Pentanet, Tyack & Co, and supporting partners the Town of Cambridge and Athletics West.  Reach out and connect! Episode 131 | Denmark Half | Strive Program Starts | Perth Running Festival this week
2026/10/05

Chris has a coach for the first time having completed a couple of sessions with the Frontrunner group, Simon prepares for John Gilmour 10,000 stringing together a couple of consistent weeks, and it's only 39 days until Vici attempts a sub 20min 5K at the Pan Pacific Masters Games. In local results we had the Denmark Half with some great social media coverage by the Denmark Running Club, track season officially starts with Strive Program A on Saturday and the Perth Kilt Run down in Armadale. We had a Perth contingent running Berlin Marathon with Riley Hulbert dropping us a voice memo on his race experience.  We talk about the upcoming Perth Running Festival and the lack of hype on what is meant to be our biggest event in the WA running calendar, and Jack Lister-Buttle and Jeremy Ng feature in this week’s weapons of WARP. Trail to Transcend Episode 02 | 2026 Transcend Trails Series | Annika Keall & Ben Leeson
2026/07/06
Monday 6th July 2026 Welcome to Episode 02 of Trail to Transcend, the WARP Training Series following 4 athletes as they train for the 2026 edition of Transcend Trails on Saturday 22 August. Last episode we met Victoria Hunn and Michael Edgar, where Vic spoke about qualifying for the 2027 edition of CCC and Mike shared stories of Feral Pig 2025 where he got to taste his breakfast and his gels - twice. Today we are blessed to be speaking to two of WA’s finest athletes on our trails, both of them representing Tarkine Athletics and boasting a list of results that will make your eyes water and your quads quiver. Annika Keall is returning to Transcend in the 28K this year after having run 8hr24min in the 65K back in 2023. Her running has levelled up since then and following a win at 3 inch trail marathon in December just days after having her wisdom teeth removed, she has since gone on to take 6th place in the 22K Donna Double at Warburton Trail Festival back in March, and most recently 17th at UTA22 in Katoomba NSW in May. Ben Leeson has been on an absolute tear of late. He’s made a habit of breaking course records, winning Feral Pig 100K last year in 10hr35min, 2026 MRU 80K in 6hr16min (he also holds the course record in the 42K from 2025) and just for s***s and giggles ran WAMC King of the Mountain two weeks back in 1hr1min. Last year Ben placed second in the 65K at Transcend behind Mike Dimuantes and you can be sure he is back this year to take gold.   This episode is brought to you by Transcend Trails. Starting at Walyunga National Park, traversing the Paruna Wildlife Reserve and finishing at Cobblers Pool, you will have access to some of the most stunning trails on offer in WA through the beautiful and untamed Avon Valley.  But don't be fooled - your body and mind will be challenged in ways you might least expect. Whether you're taking it on solo or enjoying a day on the trails with friends, race distances from 6K to 65K offer an inclusive and unforgettable race experience for people of all ages and abilities.
