Description

Did God *really* say He’d use all things for His glory + your good? Doesn’t look that good to me... Did He *really* say peace is possible? I wouldn’t hold your breath... Did God *really* say He’d never leave you? Well then... where is He? And did God *really* say He’d give you rest? Because (no offense) you look pretty tired + defeated to me... Bottom line: Our enemy is out to kill our peace, destroy our faith, and steal our hope. How? By planting lies in our minds in hopes we take the bait. Good news for us though: Jesus came to set us free, and ”if we abide in His Word, we’ll know the truth + the truth will set us free” (John 8:32).This is the show for you if you’re ready to pick up the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, and stand firm in the truth, defusing every fiery dart and seizing that abundant life Jesus always gives. Join host Heidi Lee Anderson, popular social media creator and author of P.S. It’s Gonna Be Good, episode by episode as we Trade a Lie for a Truth.

When You Feel at War With Your Own Body (with Lisa Whittle)
2025/12/01
Ever feel like your body is failing you? Something to fight instead of something to steward? What if seeing your body wrongly is keeping you from seeing God clearly? Ultimately, if Jesus chose to have a human body, what does that say about ours? Join Heidi as she sits down with best-selling author, speaker, and Bible teacher Lisa Whittle to confront a lie many of us have believed without even realizing it: “My body is bad.” Together, let’s unpack what culture tells women about their bodies versus what God actually says, how Scripture reframes our identity, and why “whole body theology” matters. Ultimately, if you’ve ever wrestled with sickness, chronic illness, weight ups and downs, or the nagging lie that your body is failing you—this is for you.   🔗 Connect more with Lisa Whittle: https://www.lisawhittle.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lisawhittle/   🔗 Connect with Heidi Lee Anderson: https://heidileeandersonministries.com Instagram: www.instagram.com/heidileeanderson Countdown to Christmas Advent devotional: https://heidileeandersonministries.com/christmas-devotionals Case of the Unknown Messiah Advent devotional: https://heidileeandersonministries.com/advent-2 Heidi’s newest book, All In, All Yours: https://heidileeandersonministries.com/allinallyours

Motherhood Isn't Your Highest Calling (with Vicki Courtney)
2025/11/24
How many times have you asked yourself: Did I do enough today? Why can’t I keep up like she does? I should’ve had more patience. More connection. More prayer. You love your kids fiercely, but sometimes you’re running on fumes—and wondering if you’re doing much of it right or just messing up your kids. And then someone says, “Motherhood is your highest calling,” and it just adds to the doubt. But what if that belief that “motherhood is your highest calling,” although sounds right and good… is actually a lie that’s crushing you? What if that isn’t the whole story? What if your worth—and your identity—isn’t wrapped up in who you are as a parent, but in who God says you are? Ultimately, what if there is a higher calling? Join me in this conversation as I interview Vicki Courtney, a mom, grandmother, and author of Motherhood Isn't Your Highest Calling, who is helping women everywhere release the pressure of Christian motherhood and embrace a greater truth: You are more than your role as a mom.   🔗 Connect more with Vicki Courtney: https://vickicourtney.com/about/ Check out her newest release, Motherhood Is Not Your Highest Calling: https://rstyle.me/+apwMMBICVFpf8Z3wBZ7y7A   🔗 Connect with Heidi Lee Anderson: Instagram: www.instagram.com/heidileeanderson Countdown to Christmas Advent devotional: https://heidileeandersonministries.com/christmas-devotionals Case of the Unknown Messiah Advent devotional: https://heidileeandersonministries.com/advent-2 Heidi’s newest book, All In, All Yours: https://heidileeandersonministries.com/allinallyours Further resources: https://heidileeandersonministries.com

2025/11/17
Every generation has wondered about the end times—but with constant headlines, global instability, wars, and the rise of AI, it feels more real than ever. Underneath the question “Is this it?” lies a deeper fear many believers quietly carry: The end times are something to fear. Did God really "just make you this way?" (with Amy Davison from Mama Bear Apologetics)
2025/11/10
Our culture these days is obsessed with identity — how we define ourselves, express ourselves, and justify our choices. But sometimes what sounds like freedom, “God made me this way," is actually a lie that keeps us from living the way He designed us... to glorify Him. Join Heidi Lee Anderson as she sits down with Amy Davison, co-host of the  @MamaBearApologetics  Podcast, to talk about how this subtle cultural lie is a dangerous one! Not only does Amy share her own story, but she also breaks down why identity is one of the biggest battlegrounds in today’s culture and how to lovingly engage others who might see things differently. Together, let’s unpack how Christians can root their identity (and their kid’s identity) in Christ—not in their preferences, feelings, or desires. Whether you’re a parent, pastor, or someone wrestling with purpose, let's look beyond “who I am” and rediscover Whose you are.   🧠 Topics We Cover • Why “God made me this way” sounds biblical—but isn’t • How identity influences behavior and spiritual growth • Teaching kids to know who they are in Christ • Responding with both truth and grace in today’s cultural conversations • How to balance desires with God’s design   🧸 Connect with Mama Bear Apologetics • Website: mamabearapologetics.com • Instagram: @mamabearapologetics • Book: Mama Bear Apologeticsf and Mama Bear Apologetics Guide to Sexuality   🔗 Connect with Heidi: Instagram: www.instagram.com/heidileeanderson Family Christmas Advent devotionals: https://heidileeandersonministries.com/christmas-devotionals Heidi’s newest book, All In, All Yours: https://heidileeandersonministries.com/allinallyours Further resources: https://heidileeandersonministries.com

Feeling out of place in today's world? When culture shifts + you don’t (with Marian Jordan Ellis)
2025/11/03
Ever feel like you're living in a world you just can’t relate to anymore? Where prayer has been traded for good vibes, what’s wrong is celebrated as if it’s right, “live your truth” has replaced the truth, and “follow your heart” gets louder applause than following Jesus?   Join me as I sit down with Marian Jordan Ellis, author of the new Lifeway Women’s study Anchored, to expose the tricky lie of “I just can’t relate to this world anymore,” and instead of a bad thing, we’ll find how it’s not only a very good thing, but it’s the very place God positioned us on purpose to shine bright for Him.   All in all, if you’ve ever felt like a spiritual fish out of water — this one’s for you. Together, let’s step forward into the truth that we’re not alone, our God’s not irrelevant, and we’re definitely not without purpose in this post-Christian world.   Don’t forget to share or leave a review about this episode to be entered to win her new study studying the letters of Peter, Anchored!   🔗 Connect more with Marian: https://thisredeemedlife.org Instagram: www.instagram.com/marianjordanellis Her new study, Anchored: https://rstyle.me/+6vtRmcaQ9A6_eJLsGgf2yw   🔗 Connect with Heidi: Her new devotional, All In, All Yours: https://rstyle.me/+11Ii1owgccFkGPU0t1uz3w Instagram: www.instagram.com/heidileeanderson https://heidileeandersonministries.com

Does God Value Women Less? (with Amy Seiffert + Jami Nato)
2025/10/27
Have you ever caught yourself shrinking back—unsure if your voice, gifts, or calling mattered as much as the guys around you? Maybe you’ve played small in ministry because you didn’t want to come off as too much. Or wondered if being “quiet” and “safe” was your lane because you’re a woman? Whew. You’re not alone. In this episode, we’re trading one of the oldest lies in the book—the idea that women are somehow less in value, voice, or calling—for the truth that God never said that. From Genesis to Jesus, we’ll trace God’s heart toward His daughters and see that His design has always been equal in worth and distinct in role—image-bearers, co-laborers, and essential to the body of Christ. To help unpack this, Heidi’s joined by two powerhouse Bible teachers and authors, Jami Nato (This Must Be the Place) and Amy Seiffert (Your Name Is Daughter). Together, the three dive into: ✨ What the Bible actually says about women starting in the beginning of Genesis ✨ How Jesus treated women—and what that reveals about God’s heart ✨ How to confidently live as a daughter of God while linking arms with His sons This isn’t a feminist rant or a man-bashing session. It’s a freeing conversation about God’s good design for both women and men—and how the enemy’s been twisting it for far too long. Grab your coffee, your Bible, and maybe your best girlfriend—because today, we’re trading the lie of “less than” for the truth of who God says you are. 🔗 Connect with Our Guests: Amy Seiffert Instagram: www.instagram.com/amyseiffert Podcast: Seminary Sisters Book: Your Name Is Daughter, https://rstyle.me/+zmHfbfzK32wrLrbbhiz7uw Jami Nato Instagram: www.instagram.com/jami_nato Podcast: Seminary Sisters Book: This Must Be the Place, https://rstyle.me/+hVzQJIAcaF40eoYmvREv7A 💛 Connect with Heidi: Instagram: www.instagram.com/heidileeanderson Grab the All In Devotional: https://rstyle.me/+11Ii1owgccFkGPU0t1uz3w www.heidileeandersonministries.com Subscribe + leave a review to help more people trade lies for God’s truth!

Spiritual Growth is all mental vs. Habits shape both body + soul (with Justin Whitmel Earley)
2025/10/20
How can we preach a gospel of peace, yet still find our bodies wracked by anxiety? On the flip side, how do we call our bodies temples of the Holy Spirit, yet regard eating, exercise, or sleep as inherently "unspiritual" activities? LIE: Bible study is for Experts only vs. TRUTH: God’s Word Is for Everyone (with Kristin Nave @shelovesbible)
2025/10/06
Ever felt like deep Bible study is only for pastors, church leaders, Christian influencers, or scholars full of commentaries and Hebrew concordances? I mean, they have degrees in that stuff. They’re trained in theology. They just GET the Bible in a way ordinary Christians don’t. But... me? I’m just normal. I love Jesus and I believe the Bible is God’s very Word that I respect and honor, but I didn’t go to seminary, I’m not bilingual, and I wouldn’t even know where to start.   Join Kristin Nave and podcast host Heidi Lee Anderson to dismantle the lie that deep Bible study is just for experts. They share honest stories, relatable struggles, and practical ways to approach Scripture--with or without a seminary degree.   You’ll hear: Why Bible study is for every believer—not just the “professionals” Deep study doesn't always mean complex methods Highlighting and journaling can enhance Bible study The role community plays in understanding Scripture Simple, doable tips for studying the Bible with confidence How God’s mercy meets us right where we are—not where we think we “should” be Kristin reminds us that God’s Word was never meant to be locked behind titles, training, or theology degrees. Ever been told to “look within” to discover who you really are? Maybe it came in the form of self-help advice, motivational quotes, or even well-meaning encouragement. On this episode of Trade a Lie for a Truth, join Heidi Lee Anderson and Alena Pitts Franklin (actress, vocalist, and author of the devotional God Is) to uncover together the cultural lie that identity starts within... and exchange it for the life-giving truth: before we can know who we are, we must first know who God is.   ✨ What you’ll discover in this episode: ➖Why the “search within” advice always leaves us empty ➖How Alena personally wrestled with identity and found freedom in Christ ➖The role honesty plays in reshaping our view of God and ourselves ➖How God’s unchanging character transforms our perspective on purpose, talents, and even past mistakes 📖 Scripture Highlight: Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”   📚 Connect with Alena Franklin: Instagram → www.instagram.com/thealenafranklin Book → God Is (a devotional perfect for teens & young adults!) https://rstyle.me/+nUi1i4exeUOc6NGONNjCqw   💡 Listener Bonus: Share this episode or leave a review and you’ll be entered to win a copy of Alena’s devotional God Is!   📚 Connect with Heidi: Heidi''s Book, All In, All Yours: https://heidileeandersonministries.com/allinallyours Instagram: www.instagram.com/heidileeanderson Further resources: https://heidileeandersonministries.com

LIE: Fear Gives Good Counsel vs. TRUTH: God is the Wise Counselor (with Susie Larson)
2025/09/15
You know those warnings that go off in our mind? “You better prepare for the worst.” “You can’t trust people — you’ve been hurt before.” “God might not come through this time.” “Play it safe. Don’t risk it.” It sounds like wisdom. It feels like caution. But underneath, it’s fear. And fear is not the fruit of a good counselor — it’s the evidence of a liar. Scripture tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7 that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and a sound mind. That means anytime fear is steering the ship, God isn’t the one driving. The enemy loves to masquerade as someone looking out for you. He’ll disguise fear as foresight. He’ll present anxiety as “being realistic.” But he’s not protecting you — he’s paralyzing you. Why? Because fear shrinks your faith. It keeps you stuck. It puts you in self-preservation mode instead of God-trust mode. So today, how about you join Susie Larson and me in trading that lie — the enemy’s warnings are worth listening to — for this truth: God alone gives wise counsel, and His perfect love casts out fear?  Susie Larson is a bestselling author, national speaker, and host of the popular radio show Susie Larson Live, and her book, Closer Than Your Next Breath was a finalist for the ECPA book of the year in 2024.
