In this episode as we examine the stories and urban legends and haunting tales of the road, we ask ourselves naturally who would spend the most time driving from one point to another, who has the most knowledge of the open road and we'd most likely agree that it's someone who drives as an occupation, someone who knows the ins and outs, someone who has seen every dark and twisted highway and ever spooky corner and block. Taxi drivers, truckers, mailmen some of the most bizarre urban legends come from these men of the road, where they have seen and encountered all that there is to know and see but certain things just seem to stick with them . Tales that have been repeated and shared over years and years, some older than others and some more bizarre than others. In the late 19th century throughout West & Central Africa, accounts and reports of a mysterious group of individuals more a kin to that of a secret society , were being recorded and published reporting tales of truly odd and heinous events that not only would shock the locals and civilians in the area but would send foreigners and western media of the time into a frenzy . These widespread accounts over decades and across the continent would detail a peculiar phenomenon of which It was believed that members of this supposed society could transform themselves or shapeshift into leopards through the use of witchcraft or magic in which they could mentally and spiritually alter into their leopard state , a metamorphosis and just as leopards do , they would hunt, kill, and eat their prey, a tale that seems more the creation of a dark work of fiction than it does of reality.
