Having expertise doesn’t mean event organizers will book you with Antoniette Roze
2026/10/14
You can be exceptional at what you do, but if event organizers don’t understand your value or see why you’re the right fit for their audience, your expertise can remain invisible to the people who write the checks. Here’s the reality: Being good on stage is only one part of building a successful speaking career. I see too many subject matter experts treating speaking like a side hustle instead of a business. They wait for referrals, hope the right person discovers them, or assume a speaker bureau will fill their calendar. That’s not a booking strategy. That’s leaving your career to chance. 🔥 Here’s what consistently booked speakers do differently: They treat speaking like a business. They define their ideal buyers, sharpen their message, and connect their expertise to real business needs. They prioritize outreach and relationships. One email rarely secures a booking. Consistent follow-ups and meaningful touchpoints help build the trust that turns conversations into opportunities. They market themselves to decision-makers. Corporate buyers aren't just looking for knowledge. They want speakers and trainers who can solve problems, engage audiences, and deliver measurable value. They balance self-marketing with strategic partnerships. Speaker bureaus can open doors, but building direct relationships with event organizers, HR leaders, and corporate training teams creates additional opportunities. They adapt to industry trends. Leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, and other human-centered skills offer opportunities for experts who connect their knowledge to organizational priorities. Virtual and hybrid events also create new ways to reach audiences. 🔥 The smarter approach? Focus on the right opportunities. The 80/20 principle reminds us that not every prospect deserves equal attention. Targeted outreach to qualified buyers can be more effective than sending hundreds of generic pitches. The goal isn't to market yourself everywhere and hope something sticks. It's to become easier to understand, easier to trust, and easier to hire. Your next high-value engagement may not come from being the most famous expert in your industry. It may come from knowing who needs your expertise and building the relationships that turn interest into contracts. Ask yourself: Are you building a speaking business, or simply waiting to get discovered? Your expertise is the foundation. The right strategy turns it into a sustainable career.
Why Monetizing the Microphone Goes Beyond Pay
2026/10/07
If your strategy is to chase paid gigs, wait for bigger stages, and focus only on what you can earn from speaking... you’re missing the bigger opportunity. Speaking isn’t just about getting paid to stand on a stage. It’s about building a signature brand, creating meaningful impact, and turning every room you enter into an opportunity to grow your influence. The most successful speakers understand that every speaking engagement can give you something valuable beyond a check. If you’re not thinking about three things every time you step onto a stage, you could be leaving opportunities on the table: What can I learn from this audience? What proof can I collect from this experience? How can this opportunity lead to the next one? The goal isn’t to speak more. It’s to become more memorable, more impactful, and easier to trust. Here is the better way to monetize the microphone and build a speaking career that creates lasting opportunities: Build a signature brand: Your message should be recognizable whether you're speaking to 10 people or 1,000. Define your niche, choose your lane, and develop a signature topic people can connect with you. Start before the big stage: You don't need a massive audience or prestigious event to begin building momentum. Smaller, intimate engagements can help you practice, connect, gather data, and discover what truly resonates. Turn every engagement into proof: Don't let a speaking opportunity end when you leave the stage. Collect video assets, testimonials, audience feedback, and insights that demonstrate the impact of your message. Lead with impact, not ego: Great speakers aren't only focused on what they want to say. They pay attention to the audience, create connections, and understand that people remember how you made them feel. Use low-cost opportunities strategically: Not every opportunity needs to generate immediate revenue. Some create relationships, referrals, testimonials, and data that can eventually lead to paid speaking and bigger opportunities. Create space for sustainable success: Building a speaking career isn't about constantly saying yes. White space matters. Give yourself room to reflect, improve, and make intentional decisions about where your time and energy go. Stop thinking the only way to monetize the microphone is to get paid every time you speak. The better question isn't “How much can I charge for this speaking engagement?” It's “How can this opportunity help me build my brand, create impact, and open the door to what's next?” In this episode, I’m joining Matt Zinman, Founder of Insights to Live By, to explore how to monetize the microphone, build a signature brand, and create meaningful impact through speaking engagements. We’ll unpack practical strategies for emerging speakers, from starting small and collecting proof to choosing your niche and building relationships that can take your speaking career further. Make your microphone more than a paycheck. Make it a platform for impact, connection, and opportunity. 🎧 Tune in to the episode now: 👉 https://taplink.cc/1antoniette
Your voice may not be enough. With Antoniette Roze
2026/09/30
Your voice isn’t the problem. Your positioning might be. I say that as someone on the speaker-booking side of the business. I talk to subject matter experts who have lived through incredible experiences, built real expertise, and have something meaningful to say. In this episode, I’m joining host of THE HEROES podcast, Endre Hoffmann as we share how your personal journey, your hard-earned lessons, your perspective, and even the seasons that tested you can become part of a much bigger professional mission. But many are still trying to grow their speaking and corporate training careers by doing what everyone tells them to do: Post more. Build a better reel. Collect more credentials. Chase more visibility. Try to sound more polished. And somewhere along the way, their actual message gets buried. Here’s the myth I want to challenge: You don’t need to become louder to create more impact. You need to become clearer about what only you can say and who needs to hear it. Because nobody can step into my voice. And nobody can step into yours. Your voice is more than content. It’s a mandate. But that doesn’t mean telling your entire story. It means knowing which part of your story matters most to the person sitting across from you. That’s where speaking strategy comes in. The goal isn’t simply to become more visible. It’s to become more memorable, more relevant, and easier to understand when an opportunity comes across the table. And that changes how you think about: → Your signature message. → Your speaker brand. → Your corporate training offer. → Your audience. → Your milestones. → Your next level of growth. → And ultimately, the legacy you’re building. Because a sustainable speaking career isn’t built by trying to say everything. It’s built by knowing what you’re here to say and staying focused enough to make it matter. If you’re a subject matter expert building the speaking or corporate training side of your career, I want you to ask yourself: If the right person heard me today, would they immediately understand why my message matters? That question can change everything. Your voice is already yours. The next step is learning how to amplify it with intention. Ready to rethink how you’re building your speaking career? Tune in now! Why Aren’t You Getting Booked? With Antoniette Roze
2026/09/23
Your speaker reel isn’t the reason you’re not getting booked. And neither is your lack of credentials. I say that as someone on the speaker-booking side of the business. But there’s a problem: You can build a great speaker brand and still be difficult to book. Because buyers aren’t simply asking: “Is this person a good speaker?” They’re asking: “Is this the right person for MY audience, MY problem, and MY moment?” That changes how you should build your speaking career. You don’t need to become louder. You need to become clearer, more relevant, and easier to understand and buy. CEO of WPC Speakers Global, Antoniette Roze, joins Host, Leverage Your Podcast Show, Lyndsay Phillips as they share why subject matter experts spend months polishing their reel, refining their keynote, posting more content, chasing podcasts, and trying to “build their personal brand.” Here’s the better way: 1. Stop building a résumé. Build a speaker ecosystem. Your keynote, podcast appearances, content, speaker reel, testimonials, website, relationships, and audience should reinforce the same positioning. Your talk is not the destination. It’s the first step in a journey. 2. Stop trying to speak to everyone. Define the audience you want to own. The right audience can create opportunities far beyond a single speaking fee. Because your bigger checks may come from the audience, not the host fee. That can mean corporate training, consulting, workshops, advisory work, programs, partnerships, and other opportunities that start with your expertise being seen by the right people. 3. Stop constantly reinventing your message. Your signature talk should become recognizable. Then evolve it. Small changes in examples, stories, delivery, language, and emphasis can keep your message relevant without forcing you to rebuild your entire platform every season. 4. Stop confusing passion with positioning. Passion matters. Authenticity matters. But passion alone doesn’t tell a buyer why they should bring you into the room. Your expertise has to connect to something your audience actually needs to solve. People don't buy the nuts and bolts. They buy what those nuts and bolts will do for their life, career, team, or business. 5. Stop treating your speaker reel like the product. Your reel is evidence. Your message is the product. Your positioning is what makes the buyer stop and pay attention. Your assets should make it easier for someone to quickly understand: Who you help. What problem you solve. Why your perspective is different. What audiences you’re built for. What transformation you create. That’s how you move from: “I’m available to speak.” to: “This is exactly who we need.” The speakers who build sustainable careers aren’t necessarily the ones doing the most. They’re the ones creating consistency between their expertise, message, audience, assets, and opportunities. That’s the shift I want more emerging speakers and corporate trainers to make. Don’t just become a better speaker. Build a career that gives the right people a reason to book you. Ready to rethink how you're building your speaking business for 2027? Tune in now. Why Being A Great Speaker Isn’t Enough To Get You Booked
2026/09/16
You Don’t Need More Speaking Opportunities. You Need a Better Way to Get Booked. If your strategy is simply to post more, polish your reel, collect a few testimonials, or wait for someone to discover you.. You may be spending a lot of time creating visibility without creating Bookability. I say that from the speaker booking side of the business. Not because they aren’t qualified. Not because they don’t have something valuable to say. But because a potential buyer often can’t quickly answer three basic questions: Who are you? What do you speak about? Why should we trust you with our audience? And if those answers aren’t clear, the buyer has to work too hard to figure you out. That’s where the game changes. The goal isn’t simply to become louder online. It’s to become more findable, more credible, and easier to hire. CEO of WPC Speakers Global, Antoniette Roze, joins Cate Stillman, Founder & CEO of Club Thrive Global as a guest on the Wellness Pro Academy Podcast to share deep expertise, strong stories, and valuable ideas to turn that expertise into speaking and corporate training opportunities. Here’s the better way: Build a clear, marketable message. Your expertise may cover ten different subjects, but your buyer needs to understand your core value quickly. If your talk could describe 20 different speakers, it becomes much harder for someone to remember what makes you the right fit. Make your expertise searchable. Your LinkedIn profile, website, social content, interviews, podcasts, speaker page, and marketing materials should tell a connected story. When someone searches your name or your area of expertise, they should find evidence that reinforces the same positioning. Create proof around your expertise. Being an expert and being perceived as a safe choice are two different things. Testimonials, recognizable logos, previous speaking engagements, interviews, client results, media appearances, and strong content give buyers more reasons to believe you can deliver. Stop treating free opportunities as the finish line. A podcast, webinar, free talk, guest interview, or community presentation doesn’t have to be valuable because it pays you immediately. It can create relationships, visibility, credibility, content, referrals, and future conversations—if you know how to leverage the opportunity. Think like a business, not just a speaker. Speaking is more than getting on a stage and delivering a great presentation. There is positioning, marketing, prospecting, relationship-building, follow-up, sales, content, and client experience happening behind the scenes. That entire ecosystem matters. And here’s the myth I want more experts to let go of: You don’t need one magical opportunity to change your speaking career. The TEDx stage. The big conference. The famous podcast. The agent. The viral post. None of these should be your entire strategy. You need to build an ecosystem that continuously makes you easier to discover, easier to understand, easier to trust, and easier to book. Because the better question isn’t: “How do I get lucky enough to get booked?” It’s: “How do I position myself so that when the right buyer is looking for someone like me, they can quickly see the fit?” That requires more than talent. It takes clarity, consistency, credibility, relationships, persistence, and tenacity. And most importantly, it takes building a speaking business that doesn’t depend on someone randomly discovering you. Get yourself very findable and not a gamble. Don’t wait to be discovered. Get findable. Get credible. Get booked. Tune in now and learn how to turn your expertise, visibility, and credibility into a speaking strategy that gets you in front of the right buyers. How do you build real authority as a speaker long before you ever step on stage and are you already doing it without realizing it? In this insightful SPEAKPact episode, learn that authority is both claimed and earned, and speakers must begin building it long before they ever step on stage. Celebrated speaker agent, Antoniette Roze, and International Author & Speaker, Lisa Apolinski discuss the significance of authority in branding and public speaking. They emphasize the importance of identifying one's area of genius, engaging with the audience for feedback, and the necessity of post-speaking engagement to build lasting relationships. Lisa warns against the pitfalls of being a generalist in a world increasingly dominated by AI, advocating instead for a niche focused approach to establish authority and attract opportunities. The discussion highlights practical strategies for speakers to enhance their brand and connect with their audience effectively. Antoniette and Lisa discuss the importance of building trust and relationships in speaking engagements, emphasizing the need for a gradual approach to audience engagement. They explore the power of storytelling in digital content, highlighting how personal narratives can create emotional connections with the audience. The discussion also covers the significance of establishing a clear authority brand and understanding the audience's core problems to effectively communicate solutions. Finally, they stress the importance of clarity over cleverness in messaging and the need to make it easy for decision-makers to promote speakers. Discover how identifying your area of genius and committing to a clear niche strengthens your impact, since being a generalist dilutes your message. Uncover why your core message must consistently reflect your audience’s needs, especially their “3 a.m. problem,” with clarity over cleverness. Gain insight from engaging with your audience before and after speaking, as it reveals your strengths and unlocks future opportunities. Master the understanding that trust is the foundation of authority, built gradually through consistency, clarity, and meaningful engagement. Understand how storytelling and personal experiences create emotional connection, making your message more memorable and persuasive. Learn that true speaker authority comes from aligning your message, niche, and relationships into one consistent and resonant brand. Also packed into this episode: Authority is built long before a speaker ever steps on stage. It is shaped through consistency, clarity, and how you position yourself over time. Clarity of focus strengthens how a speaker is perceived. A well-defined direction naturally creates stronger recognition and presence. Effective messaging speaks directly to what the audience already cares about. The strongest communication connects to real needs in a simple and relatable way. Engagement does not end when the talk is over. What happens before and after a speaking moment often shapes future opportunities. Trust develops gradually through repeated and intentional interactions. It is reinforced by consistency in how a speaker shows up and communicates. Stories remain one of the most effective ways to connect with people. They help ideas land in a way that feels more human and memorable. Strong authority comes from alignment across everything a speaker represents. When message and presence are consistent, opportunities tend to follow more naturally. Because in today’s landscape, clarity, niche focus, and audience connection aren’t optional, they’re what separate overlooked voices from booked speakers. Ready to step into the kind of authority that doesn’t just get noticed, but gets remembered? Tune in now and rethink how your voice creates opportunity! How do speakers become unforgettable? With Henry Wong
2026/06/03
Are you building a speaker brand that truly stands out or just one that looks good on the surface? In this insightful SPEAKPact episode, learn how branding is essential for speakers to stand out, and while advertising methods continue to evolve, storytelling remains the most powerful way to build a memorable presence. Celebrated speaker agent, Antoniette Roze, and brand strategist & speaker, Henry Wong, discuss the significance of branding for speakers, emphasizing the importance of narrative intelligence and emotional connection with audiences. They share insights on how to craft a compelling brand story, the evolution of branding in the digital age, and practical tips for speakers to enhance their connection with audiences through storytelling and adaptability. Henry discusses the importance of storytelling in branding and public speaking, emphasizing the emotional connection that stories create, the need for authenticity, and strategies for crafting compelling narratives. Wong shares insights on how to find one’s unique positioning in a crowded market and the significance of self-awareness in building a personal brand. He introduces the 333 storytelling framework and highlights the difference between branding and positioning. The conversation concludes with practical exercises designed to enhance storytelling skills and help speakers stand out in the industry. Uncover why strong speakers understand that core brand positioning stays consistent, but the way it is expressed must adapt to different audiences and contexts. Understand that effective storytelling comes from narrative intelligence knowing how to shape unique, authentic stories that emotionally connect and reinforce your positioning. Discover why great speakers don’t just talk to audiences, they listen, adapt in real time, and make every talk feel like a conversation rather than a performance. Master how each story should intentionally support your main brand message, with emotional resonance and authenticity making it more relatable and impactful. Gain an understanding of the importance of structuring your storytelling with clear frameworks, and having a variety of stories ready allows you to engage different audiences more effectively and consistently. Ultimately, powerful speaking comes from living your brand daily, strengthening emotional connection, and continuously practicing storytelling to deepen engagement and impact. Also packed into this episode: Strong speaker branding is not about being seen everywhere - It’s about being remembered for something specific that naturally stays with your audience long after you’ve spoken. A speaker’s core direction should feel steady - The way it comes across should shift subtly depending on who’s listening and where it’s delivered. The most impactful narratives are not simply told, they are shaped with intention. Carrying meaning that quietly reinforces a speaker’s positioning. What often sets speakers apart is not just delivery, but the ability to create a sense of recognition and connection within the audience. Clarity of identity plays a bigger role than most realize. It influences how a speaker is perceived even before they begin speaking. Great speakers don’t stay locked into a single rhythm, they adjust, respond, and evolve in the moment while still staying grounded in their message. Preparation goes beyond having content. It’s about having depth, so a speaker can move fluidly without losing coherence or impact. True influence is less about performance and more about alignment between message, presence, and how consistently it’s carried in practice. Ready to move beyond surface-level branding and start shaping a speaker identity that actually connects? Tune in now to uncover what truly makes speakers stand out in a crowded space through storytelling, positioning, and presence that lasts beyond the talk. What Are Speakers Missing In Podguesting? With Anastasia Lipske
2026/05/20

The conversation highlights the value of building genuine relationships with podcast hosts and the necessity of professionalism in the podcasting space. Ultimately, they stress that podcasting can be a powerful tool for speakers to grow their business without being overly salesy, focusing instead on providing value to listeners. Antoniette and Anastasia explore the nuances of speaking engagements and podcast guesting. They discuss the importance of trust in recommendations, the differences between speaking and podcasting, and the need for evergreen content. Anastasia emphasizes the significance of early engagement and the challenges of booking podcasts, while also providing actionable tips for listeners on how to effectively promote themselves and their messages. She highlights the value of gratitude and relationship-building in the podcasting community, making it a rich resource for speakers and podcasters alike. Discover what’s changing behind the scenes that is reshaping how speakers are actually being discovered and chosen. Understand why it’s no longer just about being visible—it’s about something far more subtle that determines whether your voice gets surfaced or overlooked. Uncover how many speakers are still approaching podcast guesting the same way, unaware that the landscape has shifted in important ways. Find out what’s really driving results today, which has less to do with volume and more to do with how everything aligns before you even appear on a show. Master the deeper layer of how relationships, timing, and positioning influence long-term speaking opportunities. And once you understand what’s really happening behind the scenes, it changes the way you approach every conversation, invitation, and appearance entirely. Also packed into this episode: PodGuesting is becoming a powerful visibility channel—not just exposure. Speakers can no longer treat podcast guesting as a casual add-on. It’s increasingly becoming a space where opportunities, positioning, and long-term momentum quietly take shape beyond traditional stages. What seems visible on the surface is only part of the picture. There’s more happening beneath what audiences actually see—subtle layers that influence how a speaker is received long before the conversation begins. The shift is less about doing more and more about doing it differently. It’s no longer just about increasing appearances, but about understanding how certain environments naturally change the way your message lands. Many speakers are still approaching it the old way. While the space continues to evolve, a lot of strategies haven’t caught up—creating a gap between effort and outcome that isn’t always obvious at first. Impact is shaped by more than just being present. Two speakers can show up in similar places, yet the way they are perceived and remembered can vary in ways that aren’t immediately visible. Positioning plays a quiet but powerful role. How a speaker is framed or introduced can subtly influence how their message is received, even before they begin speaking. Relationships are becoming a silent driver in the background. Beyond the spotlight, familiarity, trust, and ongoing connection often shape how opportunities naturally unfold over time. Every appearance contributes to a larger narrative. Nothing really stands alone—each conversation adds to a broader impression that builds gradually and often quietly. The landscape is evolving in ways most don’t fully notice at first. What worked before still exists, but the conditions around it are slowly shifting in ways that change the overall experience. There are layers to visibility most speakers don’t immediately see. What looks straightforward on the outside often has deeper dynamics that influence outcomes in subtle but important ways. There’s a deeper layer happening beneath every interview, introduction, and interaction that most people overlook. And once you see it, you won’t look at podcast appearances—or your speaking strategy—the same way again. If you’re serious about growing your influence beyond the stage, building real authority in your space, and understanding how opportunities are actually formed in today’s landscape… Ready to see what most speakers are missing in how podcasting actually shapes visibility, positioning, and long-term speaking opportunities?
