Welcome to "On A Tangent", where we tell the stories behind the mathematics. In each episode, we meet a different early career mathematician from Mathematics Münster, and learn about their research, their path towards mathematics, and their hopes for the future. We explore the many different shapes that mathematical research can take, the early memories that led people towards the subject, and try to understand a little bit better the voices that make the mathematical community of today. In this season’s seventh and final episode of "On a Tangent", Carlo talks with Adam Thompson. In this season's fifth episode of On a Tangent, Carlo speaks with Raquel Murat García about her academic starts in Spain, the shift from more applied science to pure math and her motivation for that, as well as about her reasons to go to Münster. As a PhD candidate of Linus Kramer, in her research Raquel is focusing on condensed group cohomology.

In the second season's fourth episode of On a Tangent, Carlo speaks with Benjamin Brück about his journey to Münster, away from it, and ultimately back again, the stations and challenges along the way and his connection to music. In his research Benjamin is focusing on high dimensional cohomology of arithmetic groups.
