Description

Sue Hitzmann is an internationally recognized educator in neurofascial science and research, a manual therapist, and an exercise physiologist. She is also a founding member of the Fascia Research Society. But she’s best known as the creator of the MELT Method—an innovative self-care practice that has revolutionized the approach to pain management and wellness. Her groundbreaking work became the topic of her New York Times best-selling book, The MELT Method (2013), and its follow-up bestseller, MELT Performance (2019). The Relational Body —Peter Stuart on Somatic Intelligence and Human Potential
2026/01/22
What if movement isn’t something we do — but something we’re in relationship with? In this episode of Anatomical Gangster, Sue sits down with Peter Stuart, a movement educator and somatic practitioner whose work bridges fascia, emotion, and the deeper intelligence of the human body. Peter has spent decades exploring how we move, why we move the way we do, and how the stories we carry shape our physical expression. His approach blends anatomy, awareness, and the subtle art of listening to the body’s internal landscape. Together, Sue and Peter dive into: Why movement is fundamentally relational — with gravity, with environment, with emotion How fascia shapes not just structure, but perception and behavior The ways the body stores memory and how movement can unlock it What practitioners often miss when they focus on technique instead of connection How to cultivate somatic intelligence in a world that pulls us out of our bodies Why healing requires curiosity, not perfection The future of movement education and the role of embodiment in human evolution Peter’s insights remind us that the body is not a machine — it’s a living, adaptive, expressive system in constant conversation with everything around it. If this episode sparks something in you, share it with someone who loves exploring the body as deeply as we do. And make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss the rest of the 2026 season.
AG 2026 Ep 2 Everything Is Connected Tom Myers on Fascia, Movement, and Human Relationship
2026/01/15
What if nothing in the body works alone? To open the 2026 season of Anatomical Gangster, Sue sits down with Tom Myers — author of Anatomy Trains and one of the most influential voices in fascia and movement education. In this conversation, Tom explores the body as a web of relationships: fascia, movement, emotion, culture, and the stories we carry. Together, Sue and Tom dive into: What first sparked Tom’s fascination with fascia and continuity The moment he realized the musculoskeletal model wasn’t telling the whole story How Anatomy Trains emerged and how the concept has evolved Why movement and relationship are inseparable in understanding the body How to feel the lines instead of memorizing them Universal movement patterns Tom sees across cultures Fascia’s role in emotion, memory, and human narrative What every practitioner often overlooks about continuity Where movement education is heading as technology and AI advance What still inspires Tom after a lifetime of exploring the human form Tom reminds us that the body isn’t a machine — it’s a living conversation. If this episode opens something new for you, share it with someone who loves exploring the body as deeply as we do.
Anatomical Gangster 2026 Kick-Off Episode with Sue Hitzmann
2026/01/08
Before we dive into this season’s lineup of educators, thought leaders, movers, and shakers, I wanted to take 20 minutes to thank you — the listener — for being part of this journey to learn, grow, and stay curious. Subscribing, sharing, and commenting has been the fuel that’s kept this podcast alive since I launched Anatomical Gangster in 2022. What started as my “Tuesday Talks” during Covid — the thing that kept me sane and connected — has evolved into a global conversation I’m deeply proud of. So this year, I’m kicking things off with an unfiltered, unedited riff on what’s coming next and what’s lighting up my curiosity right now: stem cells, peptides, psychedelics, sound healing, frequency therapies, environmental solutions, philosophy, tarot, cosmology, nutrition… If it helps us break down walls and explore new ideas, we’re going there. So buckle in, get your gangster energy flowing, and let’s roll into 2026 with power and intention.
