Truth Bombs with Andy Crouch
2026/09/28
This one is a conversation you're probably going to want to listen to a few times. Andy Crouch joins STG to drop truth bombs about AI, the church, and the late Wendell Berry, just to name a few. You can see Andy as one of the featured speakers at this year's New Room Conference at Frazier Church, September 30-October 2.
Andy Crouch is the partner for theology and culture at Praxis, a venture-building ecosystem awakening redemptive imagination, and a teaching fellow for Practicing the Way. His writing explores faith, culture, and the image of God in the domains of technology, power, leadership, and the arts. He is the author of five books (plus another with his daughter, Amy Crouch): The Life We're Looking For: Reclaiming Relationship in a Technological World, The Tech-Wise Family: Everyday Steps for Putting Technology in Its Proper Place, Strong and Weak: Embracing a Life of Love, Risk and True Flourishing, Playing God: Redeeming the Gift of Power, and Culture Making: Recovering Our Creative Calling.
Andy serves on the governing board of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. For more than ten years he was an editor and producer at Christianity Today, including serving as executive editor from 2012 to 2016. He served the John Templeton Foundation in 2017 as senior strategist for communication. His work and writing have been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Time, and several editions of Best Christian Writing and Best Spiritual Writing—and, most importantly, received a shout-out in Lecrae's 2014 single "Non-Fiction."
From 1998 to 2003, Andy was the editor-in-chief of re:generation quarterly, a magazine for an emerging generation of culturally creative Christians. For ten years he was a campus minister with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Harvard University. He studied classics at Cornell University and received an M.Div. summa cum laude from Boston University School of Theology. A classically trained musician who draws on pop, folk, rock, jazz, and gospel, he has led musical worship for congregations of 5 to 20,000. He and his wife, Catherine, raised two children and live in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania.

I Got Mexico with John Scott
2026/09/21
STG is pumped to have brother John back on the podcast! Whoa! God is moving. OneChild is growing. If you're inspired to partner with OneChild, please reach out to John below. We'd love to see more GMC conferences partner with John and OneChild as our missions are aligned.
OneChild Mission: As a global community of Child Champions, we advocate for children in hard places and provide holistic care so they have hope and thrive.
OneChild Vision: We see a world where every child in poverty has a champion — someone who loves them and supports them as they overcome adversity. Someone who believes in them, listens to them and challenges them to persevere. Uplifted by Child Champions, we see children thriving, filled with hope, strong in faith and equipped to make the world better — from the renewal of local communities to the eradication of global poverty.

The Radical Middle with Joshua Lewis of Remnant Radio
2026/09/07
Breaking theological echo chambers is what Remnant Radio is all about. Joshua Lewis is the founder of Remnant Radio which started as a podcast in 2017 with broken iphones and duct tape and has grown to over 21 million views on youtube and 198,000 subscribers, in addition to growing into a Ministry School and directing bi-annual conferences. They've welcomed believers representing Baptists, Methodists, Anglicans, Pentecostals, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Charismatics and more to join them live on air, where they engage in theological wrestling matches. It's important to note that they don't always agree with their guests, but are eager to learn how different traditions interpret scripture. In every episode, Remnant Radio strives to offer constructive dialogue and healthy pushback without veering into argumentative or combative territory.
Expect each Remnant Radio episode to be not only informative but also encouraging, entertaining, and, inspiring. GC Talk Joburg with Will Gregory, Maggie Vowell, and Rev. Dr. Adam Thornton
2026/08/24
Is it global?Does it strengthen the local church?Does it advance the mission?Does it build a movement? Can it actually work?
General Conference 2026 is almost here. These are the key questions that are the filter by which the MidTexas delegation is using to determine whether or not existing BDD verbiage and/or new petitions are needed. Please be in prayer for their good work and for all delegates from across the globe as they travel this week to gather in Johannesburg, South Africa. Come Holy Spirit!
We're grateful to spend time with three of the delegates from MidTexas for this STG conversation. Will and Maggie represent the lay delegation side while Adam represents the clergy delegation side. Will Gregory serves as the Youth and Young Adult Director for Irving First. Maggie Vowell serves as the Assistant Youth Director for First Frisco. And Rev. Dr. Adam Thornton is in transition from serving as the Senior Pastor of Dripping Springs Methodist Church to the same position at Anchor Fellowship in Granbury, TX.

Walking Life With First Responders with Dr. Kimberly Kiefer
2026/08/17
Who doesn't love and appreciate first responders? They uniquely put themselves in harms way and expose themselves to danger and death on a daily basis in order to rescue the perishing, defend the vulnerable, and pursue justice. How does God want His church to minister to these servant heroes? Dr. Kimberly Kiefer is here to help the Body of Christ grow in awareness of the unique life experience of first responders and how God wants His bride to minister to these special people.
Dr. Kimberly Kiefer, DMin, is a chaplain, former law enforcement officer (LEO), and first responder advocate. As both an expert in crisis intervention and an elder candidate in the Global Methodist Church, Kimberly creates compassionate, practical training for law enforcement personnel and blends years of hands-on LEO experience with deep spiritual insight and care.
