Episode 487(not really) of the Groupchat Wrestling Podcast. We sat out last week after the passing of Benjamin Satterley aka PAC - it didn't feel right to chat wrestling. This week we talk about why the show felt like perfection from start to finish, from Moxley holding everyone together to Hangman's emotional moment and Kenny Omega flying back from Japan, plus why the AI-image clickbait around it was so classless. Then we switch to what's next: predictions, the Clockwork Carnage build to Wrestle Dream, The Acclaimed's future, Sheamus as a free agent, Swerve vs Hangman long-term, Ricochet as top heel, and a massive indie round-up with TNT, EVE, GPW, Atomic, Future Shock, Rev Pro, North, Discovery and more. Episode 98 of the Group Chat Wrestling Podcast is here, and somehow AEW has created its own version of the FA Cup. The Group Chat Wrestling Podcast is finally back—and within minutes, we’re discussing CM Punk’s entirely natural straight-edge transformation, arguing over whether the Beatles or the Ramones are overrated, and responding calmly and maturely to our latest reviews. We then get into the current state of AEW. Has consistently brilliant wrestling made brilliant matches feel less special? Are the stories missing the emotional stakes they had this time last year? Have the Death Riders completely lost their way, and is Jon Moxley helping Will Ospreay—or dragging him down? We also preview and predict AEW Redemption, discuss the treatment of the women’s division, fantasy-book the road to All In, answer your questions and somehow find time to insult anime, Danhausen and Giant González. Most importantly, we send all our love and support to Tanea “Rebel” Brooks. You can learn more about Rebel’s fight, support I AM ALS and make a donation here: ❤️ SUPPORT REBEL AND I AM ALS https://www.iamals.org/rebel/ We’ll also be at TNT Extreme Wrestling: Summer Explosion 2026 on Saturday, 25 July at Hangar 34 in Liverpool.
