How to Sip Smarter this Dry January with David Burtka
2026/01/08
Katie sits down with actor, chef, and cookbook author David Burtka for an inspiring conversation about family cooking, gardening, and why mocktails deserve just as much love as cocktails - especially during Dry January. David shares how he and his husband, Neil Patrick Harris, teamed up on their new book, Both Sides of the Glass, filled with seasonal drink recipes—both alcoholic and nonalcoholic—so everyone at the table can enjoy no matter how they're starting the year. David explains he first got into cooking after taking a step back from acting. He decided to enroll in cooking school which later led him to train with legends like Cat Cora and Thomas Keller and ultimately owning his own catering company. These days, David is juggling life with teenage twins and spending lots of time on their family farm in the Hamptons, cooking simple, nourishing meals with veggies from his own garden—many of which he cans and pickles himself. It’s an episode filled with fresh ideas for a New Year reset, whether you're embracing Dry January, rethinking your routine, or just looking for new inspiration in the kitchen.  Follow @dbelicious. It’s New Year’s Goals Rather Than Resolutions
2026/01/01
Katie is solo today and diving into one of her favorite topics: New Year’s. It’s one of those moments in the year that feels like a true reset for her, a chance to set fresh intentions and map out the goals she’s excited to chase. She’s sharing the thoughtful advice and simple tips that help her stay grounded—and of course, she’s kicking things off the way she always does, with a classic Southern bowl of Hoppin’ John: black-eyed peas for luck and collard greens for good fortune. The Great Debate: Ham or Prime Rib for Christmas Dinner with Ryan Biegel
2025/12/18
Katie is back with her husband Ryan, and the two are diving into all their holiday favorites as the season kicks into full swing. Katie admits Christmas used to be one of her least favorite holidays, but thanks to Ryan, it’s become one she looks forward to all year long. And of course, the biggest question remains… will Christmas dinner be prime rib or ham? Tune in to find out! Produced by Dear Media. Do You Know What’s in Your Wine? With Katie’s Kind of Wild Wines’ Co-Founders Jordan and Adam Sager
2025/11/06
Katie is joined by Jordan and Adam Sager, her co-founders of Kind of Wild Wines and co-presidents of Winesellers Ltd., a family-owned wine import company their father started in Chicago back in 1978. Together, they had the same realization—if they cared about eating organic, why shouldn’t they be drinking organic too? That idea inspired the creation of Kind of Wild Wines, their label that’s proudly organic, zero-sugar, additive-free, and sustainably farmed. In this episode, they pull back the curtain on what’s really in your wine (including the shocking fact that up to 70 additives can be legally used), clear up the confusion around sulfites, and share their favorite holiday wine pairings (like sparkling cava with ham), so you can sip smarter this season. It’s an eye-opening and lively conversation that just might change the way you think about what’s in your glass. Use the code: Table25 for a 25% listener discount on Kind of Wild Wines. Food Network’s The Kitchen Ends: Final Thoughts and Reflections with Katie
2025/10/30

She shares the behind-the-scenes story of how she landed the position after nearly seven years of trying to break into Food Network, including the audition where she had to make her ultimate PB&J (she went all-in on the classic white-bread, sugary-jelly version she always wished for as a kid). Katie reflects on favorite memories with her co-hosts, how the show led her to meeting her husband Ryan, and what she hopes to cook up next in the food media world. Most importantly, she sends a huge thank-you to the listeners and fans who made this ride such a joy every single day. Produced by Dear Media.
