"That homicidal bitch might be our only way out of here." Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, we are headed back to the Arcade but this time, it's spooky. I am joined by Pixel of Page & Pixel fame to review 2002s Resident Evil starring Milla Jovovich. We dive into the brainchild of Paul WS Anderson who launched a very financially successful film franchise that committed every sin that video game films typically would make. We talk about what could have been with George A. Romero as director, and how the Skydance Corporation is the true Umbrella Corporation of the day. Pixel also throws down a pretty hefty challenge to me for going over the 30 minute mark. "To live is to fight, and to fight is to live." Welcome to my dojo, this is kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, we are headed back to the Arcade for one of the reasons why this whole series even exists. This is my review of Street Fighter starring Andrew Koji and a whole bunch of other people. After all this time, they finally did it. They embraced what Street Fighter is supposed to be and have made an excellent Street Fighter film. From stellar performances from Collina Liang and Andrew Schultz, to David Dastmalchin protraying the cult leader side of M. Bison, to great fight choreography and humor throughout. Street Fighter nailed it, but it is not perfect. I get into all the nitty gritty in this review. Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, we are headed back to the Arcade once more as I dive into the history of the Marvel vs Capcom series with a look at Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Series: Arcade Classics for the Nintendo Switch. In this episode, I look at the recent history of why this port of these classic seven arcade games is important to video gamers, I go back to the beginning of the relationship between Marvel and Capcom with 1993's The Punisher moving all the way to the year 2000 for Marvel vs Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes; I give my thoughts on which characters I gravitated to and which characters need to be added in any future games. "That's it, c'mon maggothead!" Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, as part of spooky season, we are squaring up with Jason Voorhees himself with my review of Friday the 13th part 6: Jason Lives from 1986 starring Thom Matthews. In this review, I chronicle the series from part 1-6, I analyze how trauma plays such a significant role in the main characters including Tommy Jarvis, and I discuss how I think you take down a undead machete weilding killer with superhuman strength who may be a Deadite who can teleport. Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, we keep the spooky season vibes going with a discussion about the real vampires in society, our corporate overlords with their streaming services. Paramount Skydance Warner Bros Discovery is now a thing. The Fox Corporation is set to acquire Roku by June of next year. The Hulu app is going away...maybe. And when the dust settles, I still have to rent movies because they are not available anywhere to stream already? Just by physical media y'all. "Whatever that thing may be, we are Ninja Warriors." Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, we are kicking off spooky season with my review of 2010s Alien vs Ninja; a Japanese, martial art, sci-fi, horror, comedy. AVN brings together two things that every eight year old would love to see, ninjas fighting aliens. Though the ninjas may have katanas, and the aliens are clearly supposed to be like Xenomorphs, AVN offers original takes and creative ideas to two powerhouse staples. "...There's not one power system that really cares about its civilians." Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, I sit down to fulfill one of my challenges. I had to play Tubi Roulette and it landed on 1975s The Killer Elite starring James Caan. The house didn't really win or lose this time, more like broke even. The Killer Elite has a stacked cast that also includes the likes of Robert Duvall, Mako, and Burt Young, and features a great character arc for James Caan's character, but man do I have a hard time with slowburn 70s action. "Everywhere I looked there was crime without punishment." Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, we are headed back to the Arcade this time with my review of 2009s Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li starring Kristin Kruek. For the first time here I on the show I get to say, I watched this so you don't have to. It's not the worst movie in the world, rather it is a film that exists. Will it make an impact on the upcoming reboot? Probably not. Is it as fun to watch as the 1994 film? No., but it does have a fun cast. "You can't always change your position can you?" Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, I am sitting down to review the Millennial Karate Kid, 2008s Never Back Down starring Sean Farris. Take the Karate Kid and make everyone very angry and very horny and you've got Never Back Down. This movie features amazing music, Millennial vibes through and through, and one hell of a toxic message. "People are going to be talking about that last kick for years." Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, to celebrate the two year anniversary of the show, I sit down with Christian Ashley of Systematic Geekology to re-review The Undisputed 2025 Downloads Champion, The Karate Kid pt 2. In this review, Christian offers his reasons why he thinks this film is better than the original, I pitch how I think the original trilogy should have ended, and we celebrate the acting performance of Pat Morita. "i also do circumcisions" Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, we are headed back to 1989 with a review of Blind Fury starring Rutger Hauer. In this episdoe, I dive into the world of Zatoichi, Vietmanese swords, and how I think this film could have worked better as a family friendly action television series. It's a limb lopping good time! "You were adopted last night? Why didn't your dad adopt you when you were born?" Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, I am once more joined by Pastor Will Rose of Systematic Geekology to discuss 1993's Surf Ninjas starring Ernie Reyes Jr. Pastor Will brings his surf knowledge to help us better understand what surf culture was like in the early 90s and how that influenced Surf Ninjas and other films like Point Break. We laugh our way through this goofy but heartwarming film full of video games, surfing, and ninja action. Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, we're headed back to the Arcade, this time to discuss not a film, game, or genre, but rather an experience. I am joined by my wife Claire to talk about our trip to The Pokemon Fossil Museum exhibit at The Field Museum in Chicago, IL. This partnership between The Pokemon Company and the National Museum of Nature and Science brings the worlds of Pokemon and Paleontology together with lifesize "fossils" of Pokemon alongside the actual science of how paleontology works. "Money is paid, but that is not the motive. It has to do with standing outside of it all, on your own." Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, I'm headed back to 1972 to review a classic action film starring Uncle Charlie himself, The Mechanic starring Charles Bronson. This film is a well told story about embracing your alternative lifestyle while still seeing the wisdom in the traditions within that lifestyle. It also features big guns, motorcycle chases, and lots of explosions. What's not to like about this film? "If good men do nothing, that is evil enough." Welcome to my dojo, this is Kung Fu Pizza Party. Today, we are back at the Arcade again this time with a look at the 1994 cult classic Street Fighter starring Jean Claude Van Damme. Street Fighter is a rare example of a financially successful cult classic; a film so rejected by fans and critics that over 30 years later it has manged to gather a cult following. In this episode, I look at the many changes that the movie makes despite being clearly inspired by Street Fighter II, but also highlight how this film manged to make all the right decisions to become beloved later in life.
