Finally, we dive into absolute chaos with the Red Wings. Between Simon Edvinsson sitting in Sweden over a contract holdout, Dylan Larkin’s absence, and zero GM clarity, is there any reason to believe in this organization heading into opening night?

How concerning should the Lions' inability to close be? They did win both games where they blew double-digit leads late.
And, hats off to Justin Verlander. But the Detroit Tigers aren't off the hook for a terrible season.

Tigers: As the "MASH unit" rotation heads home to face Texas, we break down Tarik Skubal’s dominance, Kenley Jansen’s late-inning struggles, and the mounting pressure on the Tigers' depth.
Lions: Brad Holmes prioritizes the trenches over "splash" picks in the 2026 Draft; we debate the "Blue Wall" philosophy and whether the lack of safety depth is a calculated risk or a major oversight.
Pistons flex their playoff muscles | Lions WILL be aggressive in the draft
2026/04/23
Detroit’s Historic Response: After a sluggish Game 1, the top-seeded Pistons evened the series by snapping an NBA-record 11-game home playoff losing streak behind Cade Cunningham’s elite playmaking (11 assists) and J.B. Bickerstaff’s signature third-quarter adjustments that held Orlando to a season-low 83 points
The "Villain" Moves Up: We break down why Brad Holmes might go aggressive in a "weak" 2026 class, exploring trade-up scenarios to land a blue-chip anchor like Francis Mauigoa or a dominant edge like David Bailey, plus a look at "Grit" gems for Detroit including Arizona's Treydan Stukes and Utah's Dallen Bentley.
Analyzing the Tigers’ "meh" 13-12 start: We break down the stark home-vs-road splits, the impact of rookie Hao-Yu Lee at third base, and whether the bullpen can survive a brutal upcoming road trip through Cincinnati and Atlanta.
Tigers show McGonigle love in 150 million ways | The Red Wings are pathetic
2026/04/16

Tigers: The future is officially now as the team locks up Kevin McGonigle with a massive extension, while Javier Báez moves to Center Field to solve the defensive puzzle left by Parker Meadows' injury.
Lions: We play a high-stakes game of "Brad Holmes Bingo," speculating on whether the "Villain" will execute a massive trade-up for a foundational tackle or follow his "conviction" to snag a game-wrecking interior defender.
Red Wings: We dissect the "disrespectful" 8-1 season finale loss to the Panthers and pay tribute to the legendary Paul Woods, who retires after 46 years of service to the Winged Wheel as both a player and iconic broadcaster

The Detroit Tigers have eyes on November | The Red Wings are toast
2026/03/26
Red Wings: After a damning 3-2 loss to Ottawa and falling out of a playoff spot, the "Yzer-plan" faces a systemic collapse unless they can fix a "mentally shallow" locker room.
Tigers: Opening Day arrives with a revamped roster featuring ace Tarik Skubal and rookie "assassin" Kevin McGonigle, signaling a shift to a legitimate AL Central title hunt.
NCAA Tourney: Michigan’s "Twin Towers" are dominant and efficient, while Tom Izzo’s Michigan State squad prepares to "muck-it-up" against UConn behind Jeremy Fears Jr.’s record-breaking playmaking.
Pistons: Despite clinching the East's #1 seed, the focus shifts to a $50M gamble: whether to play Cade Cunningham for the final four games he needs to hit the All-NBA "65-game" threshold despite a collapsed lung.
Do Red Wings deserve any faith? | Lions must replicate 2023 draft success
2026/03/19
Red Wings: The season is on life support as injuries to Larkin and others have triggered a massive slide, leaving their Wildcard spot in jeopardy.
Pistons: JB Bickerstaff has turned Detroit into a top-10 offense and a top-2 defense, though they’ll need "BBall Paul" and the bench to step up while Stew and Cade deal with nagging injuries.
Tigers: Prospect Kevin McGonigle is tearing up Spring Training and might force his way into the lineup, potentially pushing a versatile Javy Baez to the outfield.
Lions: Brad Holmes is filling depth holes with low-cost veterans like DJ Wonnum and Greg Dortch, but the real pressure is on him to strike gold in the draft again with fewer assets than in the past.
