Just Keep Showing Up: Psalm 100 and the Long Game of Faithfulness | #100
2026/09/23
Zach's Socials Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/zach.dasher/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DasherZach Jill's Socials Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jilldasher/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jil.dasher What does it look like to serve the Lord with gladness, trust that He is good, and keep showing up even when you don’t understand what He is doing? In episode 100, Zach, Jill, and Brandon reflect on Psalm 100, the freedom of being the sheep of a good Shepherd, and the long game of faithfulness. Sometimes you don’t see the fruit right away. Sometimes you may not see it this side of eternity. But the faithful witness keeps showing up again and again, trusting that the steadfast love of the Father endures forever and His faithfulness is to all generations. After 100 episodes, Not Yet Now is taking a little season—a break, a breather—to reimagine what comes next. We’re not going away. Thank you for sticking with us.
The Things That Have Power Over You: Idolatry, Sin, and Redemption | #99
2026/09/08
Zach's Socials Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/zach.dasher/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DasherZach Jill's Socials Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jilldasher/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jil.dasher What has dominion over you? Zach and Jill look at the story of the golden calf in Deuteronomy and what it reveals about idolatry, sin, and our tendency to let created things take control of our lives. From addiction and image to control, success, and self-preservation, idols rarely stay things we simply enjoy—they eventually begin to rule us. But the answer isn’t simply trying harder. In Christ, we’re invited back into communion with God, where the things that once controlled us can be put to death and redeemed life can begin again. The best time to start may have been years ago. The second best time is right now.
Grace After Church Hurt: Forgiveness, Faithfulness, and a Lifetime of Formation | #98
2026/09/01
Church hurt can leave behind resentment, confusion, and the temptation to walk away entirely. But what does it look like to let grace have the final word? Zach sits down with his dad to look back on a life shaped by legalism, ministry, failure, forgiveness, and decades of being formed by the Word of God. Their story is a reminder that spiritual growth doesn’t happen all at once—and that God can keep reshaping us through every season of life. Even after disappointment. Even after hurt. Even after years have passed.
Jesus Didn’t Save You Into Isolation: The Local Church and Real Participation | #97
2026/08/25
What if Christianity is more than believing the right things and waiting to leave this world? In this episode, Zach and Brandon discuss a recurring tension: God does the work, but He also invites His people to participate. That means the Christian life is not passive, private, or disembodied. It is lived out in real time, in real places, with real people. They talk about the local church, the incarnation, the “one another” commands, and why salvation cannot be reduced to “Jesus died for my sins so one day I can get out of here.” Jesus came in the flesh. He values the physical world. He sends the Spirit. He creates a people. And He invites us into the actual life of God.
Unless the Lord Builds the House: Finding Purpose in the Toil | #96
2026/08/18
From a hilarious debate over ear hair and potential razor sponsorships to a viral vocal debut that caught the attention of Randy Travis himself, this episode of Not Yet Now kicks off with plenty of laughs. But we don't stay on the surface for long—we quickly pivot to the powerful, real-life miracles unfolding in our community. In this episode, we share the incredible story of the "Mattress Sisters" and how a chance encounter at a Kentucky Fried Chicken led to a divine provision that left us speechless. These stories of survival and grace set the stage for a deeper look at what it truly means to build a life that lasts. We dive into Psalm 127 to unpack the difference between "anxious toil" and building a legacy under the guidance of the Lord. Whether you feel like your past has been a mess or you’re simply looking to pass down something meaningful to the next generation, this conversation is for you. We discuss why it’s never too late to start building the right way and how to shift your focus from chasing "shiny toys" to cultivating a life of generational faithfulness. If you’re ready to stop laboring in vain and start building a home that the Lord is proud to dwell in, pull up a chair and join us.
God Uses Weak People: Paul, the Cross, and Life in the Spirit | #95
2026/08/11
What do you do when you feel too weak, insecure, or inadequate to keep going? In this episode, Zach and Jill sit down after a heavy week and talk honestly about what it feels like to serve, teach, lead, parent, and follow Jesus when you don’t feel strong. Instead of pretending, they turn to Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians, where the power of the gospel is located not in eloquence, strategy, charisma, or human wisdom, but in Christ crucified. Paul says the word of the cross looks like foolishness to the world, but to those being saved, it is the power of God. The Jews demanded signs. The Greeks sought wisdom. But Paul preached Christ crucified: the power of God and the wisdom of God.
The Pathway To The Legacy Life: Confession, the Spirit, and a Clean Heart | #94
2026/08/04
What do you do when you realize your heart has drifted? After discussing Solomon’s failure to finish strong, Zach and Jill continue the conversation with the pathway back: confession. Solomon’s legacy shows how devastating it can be when a heart turns away from the Lord. The kings after him repeat the same tragic pattern, doing what is evil in the sight of the Lord, and the temple Solomon built eventually ends in destruction. But the grace of God is that He still brings the true King through the remnant, the Lion of Judah, and Christ becomes the cornerstone of a new temple. So how do we participate in that life now? Through confession.
Finishing Strong: Solomon’s Warning for Families, Leaders, and Churches
2026/07/28
How does someone who built the temple of God end up building high places for false gods? In this episode, Zach and Jill sit down for a shorter conversation about finishing strong, family legacy, and the sobering warning of Solomon’s life. Solomon began with wisdom, humility, power, and purpose. He was chosen to build the house of the Lord, a place where God’s presence would dwell among His people. But later in life, his affections shift. He clings to the wrong loves, partners with foreign gods, and the man who built the exalted house of the Lord eventually builds high places for idols.
Stop Preserving What Needs to Die: The Resurrection Power We Keep Postponing | #92
2026/07/21
In Mark 16, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome go to the tomb with spices to anoint Jesus’ body. They love Him. They are faithful. They show up when others have scattered. But they are still expecting a corpse. Their question is simple: “Who will roll away the stone?” And when they arrive, the stone has already been moved. In this episode, Zach, Jill, and Brandon talk about why the resurrection is not only a future hope or an apologetic argument, it is power for life right now. Jesus didn’t just die so we could be forgiven and wait for heaven. He rose so that resurrection life could begin breaking into the present through the Holy Spirit.
Christian Nationalism? The Bible, America, and How They Go Together | #91
2026/07/14
What does Scripture have to do with politics, culture, America, and how we live in public? In this episode, Zach and Brandon pause before finishing the Gospel of Mark to discuss a timely and complicated question: How should Christians think about authority, culture, Christian nationalism, and the public witness of the church? The conversation begins with the authority of Scripture, and what happens when God’s Word confronts our assumptions, preferences, or cultural moment. From there, they unpack why Western civilization cannot be understood apart from the Bible, how Christian ideas shaped movements like abolition and public education, and why phrases like “Christian nationalism” often need careful definition before they can be meaningfully discussed.
Looking At Church Hurt For What It Actually Is and How To Process It | #90
2026/07/07
Ashley joins the podcast for the first time, and the conversation turns toward something many people know too well: church hurt. But instead of using that phrase as a blanket accusation against the whole body of Christ, Zach, Jill, Brandon, and Ashley discuss what it really means to be hurt by broken people inside the church, and how Jesus can still heal what people damaged. They share pieces of their own stories: church planting, betrayal, firing, isolation, NDAs, spiritual confusion, and the temptation to “burn it all down.” But they also discuss the moment that changed everything: choosing silence instead of retaliation, prayer instead of accusation, and building a community for Jesus instead of against the people who hurt them.
Seeking The Lord In The Darkness: How To Manage Difficulty And Faith (Mark 15) | #89
2026/06/30
We talk often about the death and resurrection of Jesus, but what about His burial? In this episode, Zach and Jill discuss why Jesus' burial is not just an “in-between” moment. It is part of the gospel itself: death, burial, and resurrection. Joseph of Arimathea, a respected member of the council who was looking for the Kingdom of God, takes courage and asks Pilate for the body of Jesus. And the women, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Jesus, watch where He is laid, becoming key witnesses to what happens next.
Rushing Through Trials: You May Be Missing What God Is Saying (Mark 15) | #88
2026/06/23
In this episode, Zach, Jill, and Brandon discuss why the cross is bigger than a one-time transaction. In Mark 15:21–39, Jesus is led to Golgotha, mocked by the crowd, crucified between two criminals, and abandoned in darkness. He cries out the opening line of Psalm 22: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” And then, when He breathes His last, the curtain of the temple is torn from top to bottom. Yes, Jesus pours out His blood for the forgiveness of sins, but He is also opening the way back into the presence of God, fulfilling the temple, revealing the true King, and showing us the way of sacrificial love. The cross is where Jesus dies for us, dies ahead of us, and opens the way for us to participate in the life of God.
Finding Faith After Disaster: A Hurricane Helene Story | #87
2026/06/16
Jackie and Cynthia survived one of the most devastating floods in recent memory. When Hurricane Helene tore through Western North Carolina, their home was destroyed, and they were swept away in raging floodwaters with only a mattress and their little dog, Romeo, keeping them alive. For three days they waited in the wreckage, praying for rescue and wondering if they would ever make it home. What happened next changed their lives forever. In this powerful conversation, Jackie and Cynthia share their incredible survival story, the kindness of strangers who stepped in to help, and how losing everything ultimately led them to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. This is a story of faith, perseverance, and hope in the middle of unimaginable loss. Help Jackie & Cynthia Purchase a New Home After Hurricane Helene
The Kingdom Collision That Happened In Mark 15 | #86
2026/06/09
In Mark 15:1–20, Jesus stands before Pilate, accused, mocked, and handed over. Pilate knows what’s happening, but still caves because he wishes to satisfy the crowd. In this episode, Zach, Jill, and Brandon discuss Barabbas going free, Jesus being mocked, and how envy and people-pleasing build rival kingdoms that always end in death. Mark 15 is a chasm where the “kingdom collision” becomes unavoidable, and how it's a picture of how the Kingdom wins: not through force, but through cruciform love.
