2026/10/10
On this episode of the show we are keeping it pure. Pure in the way that it's just your passionate and idiotic hosts of the show, Daniel and David - together again. United by microphones and their undying passion for the worlds greatest sport, in the greatest town on earth! Time for a running catch up and what's been going on over the past months. Quick stories from Chamonix, North Downs Way and Dave's Spine training. Plus, everything else in between. Sending lots of positive vibes to you the listeners as we head into the colder months. We'll be back real soon!
Episode 113 - Ravers 2 Runners
2026/07/12
Raving our way into episode 113 of the show, Dave and Daniel are joined by our very special guest and founder of Ravers2Runners, Jo Bryan-Smith. After many discussions about getting Jo onto the show, we finally managed to make it happen and it was well worth the wait. Raver 2 Runners are a group of passionate ravers who absolutely love music, running, community, and merging these things together in harmony. They enjoy trying to find the balance between everything in life - much like many of us trying to do the same. A lovely chat with another beautiful human being, and puzzle piece of the wide and amazing running global running community. Thank you to Jo and Ravers2Runners for making all the magic happen. Happy running everyone x
Episode 112 - Phoenix Running Hampshire
2026/06/14
On this episode of the show we welcome two incredible guests who head up Phoenix Running Hampshire. Kasia and Ellen join Dave and I in this discussion to tell us all about the local runs happening all throughout the year, that provide a welcoming, friendly and very flexible format that allows runners to pick their distance they want to achieve. Whether a 5km or ultra marathon, it doesn't matter. One of their famous medals will be waiting for you at the end, along with 'PB Potatoes' during each loop. A beautiful chat with two incredibly passionate about running people x
Episode 111 - Dan & Dave Run Catch-Up
2026/05/22
On this episode of the show, with some more races under their belts, Dan & Dave catch-up with each other after the Netley10k , North Downs Way 50 and the Hackney Half. With a completely pointless episode of just us, we always ensure it comes with a lot of love and passion for the running. We promise next time, we'll have some proper guests on with actual things to tell us and stories to share about running :-) As always, from Dan & Dave - keep up the great running and keep moving! Lots of love xx
Episode 110 - Kim Holloway: Marathon Majors
2026/04/24
Celebrating on this episode of the show with local runner, and now Abbott World Marathon Major 6 Star medal holder and finisher - Kim Holloway. We absolutely love celebrating all running achievements and this one is very fresh and recent with Kim having just completed Boston. The final of the original big 6 majors. We chat about how Kim got into runner later in life, and how she has managed to achieve this brilliant milestone. I learned a lot of the marathon majors and found myself really inspired by this chat. Like others before her, I am sure Kim will be inspiring others who will follow in her footsteps I am sure. And as always, Dave and Dan catch up on all things running related in their lives and also come up with some new running ideas for the near future....x
Episode 109 - Hot Girl Run Club
2026/04/07
On this episode of the show, I welcome two guests who are both joint founders of the local running group called Hot Girl Run Club. Welcome Chloe and Oakley! Formed just under a year ago, Hot Girl Run Club has grown in numbers very quickly, and provides a friendly, welcoming group for ladies. Based purely on female running data - like pacing for example, this group is a great option for women who want to join a group and feel absolutely no pressure to run in any particular way. It really is great to have more option and doors that can open up running for different groups of people. An absolute pleasure to have Oakley and Chloe on the show to chat with us.
Episode 108 - Running & AI with Barney Reed
2026/03/13
On this episode of the show I am joined by local runner and AI App creator Barney Reed. AI is at the forefront of many of our personal and working lives right now. Many runners are turning to AI apps to help with their running, training, race preparation and more. Tools available are helping runners make the most of the data being collected by various devices, and Barney has created an app called LT.ai (Lactate Training). Available on the app stores, it will connect with an account, like Strava, and start to create many different insights you can use in your own training. This discussion jumps into a few different areas, but it was great to discuss together and to get some good insights into the app that Barney has had developed, which incorporates not just running, but other aspects of busy lives we all have too. Check out the app at: https://lactatetraining.ai/
Episode 107 - Sarah Page
2026/02/06
Rolling out the red carpet on this episode of the show and welcoming to the episode ranks, the ever chatty and smiley and winner of this years Spine Challenger South - Sarah Page. That's right, Sarah has kicked off the year with a massive win and true show of grit, skill and determination in her running. We don't only focus in on the race however, and we chat about many different aspects of her running and training, from being coached to her weekly routine. Fab chat! And as always, Dan and Dave have a chit chat to warm everyone up for the episode. We love running - we love the communities and the races, and we hope you all enjoy these episodes and discussions. Happy running everyone x
Episode 106 - Happy New Year from Dan & Dave!
2026/01/16
A very happy new year from your hosts of the show, Daniel and Dave! Just the two of us on this running episode catch up where Dan and Dave have a post Pompey marathon catch up, including a load of running chat from the Spine races that took place this week, to the plans for this years Smogathon - and more. Also, one co-host has some very exciting and romantic news to share, but who is it? We look forward to bringing you more episodes this year in what we hope will provide you with all the content that you didn't ask for, or need. But, it might help make the miles go by on your runs. Lots of love - Daniel and Dave x
Episode 105 - Pompey Coastal Marathon
2025/12/14
Keeping in tradition with years past, we end this year with a special episode with our long time friend and regular guest, Rob Piggott. Rob and his team bring the coastal marathon to our doorstep each year, including the half, the 50k and the Saturday santa runs too. Of course, there are a whole lot of different events during the year too which we chat about too, but this one is all about what's happening at this years race, coming up in just a week. So ready your sleights, festive costumes, and favourite Hokas for this years event happening this coming weekend. Time to lace up once again for the best Christmas running weekend in the UK. Thank you for supporting the show as always. Sending lots of Christmas love from both of us - Dave & Daniel x
Episode 104 - Running 250+ Miles with David Harvey
2025/11/21
On this episode of the show, it is just your co-hosts Daniel and Dave, as we dive into a race report from David Harvey after his epic 3rd place finish at this years Lon Las. This is a race that takes long distance running to the extreme. Starting in Holyhead, north Wales and finishing in Cardiff, south Wales, this course navigates through central Wales along one of the cycle networks. It's a real test of endurance with absolutely minimal support every 50 miles. Dave has now finished a few 200+ mile runs and so we dive into a discussion about how he planned for this, what he ate and how he managed to keep going and defeat the demons that got the best of him last time. Enjoy the show x
Episode 103 - Verity Ockenden
2025/11/04
On this episode of the show I am joined by this years Great South Run winner, Verity Ockenden. Verity has previously finished in 2nd and 3rd at this race and so to come back, after injury, and be crowned champion of 2025 was a big deal and huge motivator moving forward. This episode really follows on well from our previous show with Chris Thompson as Verity is coached by Chris. Alongside that fact, Verity also brought some family history and ties to Portsmouth, making the whole weekend a dream come true. As always, to kick the episode off, Daniel and Dave hook up for a warm up chat, discussing Dave's recent 3rd place finish at the epic Lon Las (253 miles!), the upcoming Smogathon (world's greatest race!) and of course a bit about the Great South Run! As always, thank you for listening and happy running everyone x
Episode 102 - GSR with Chris Thompson
2025/10/10
On this episode I welcome two time Olympian, and three time winner of the Great South Run onto the show - Chris Thompson. We were extremely honoured to have Chris agree to come onto the show with just over a week to go before the Great South Run, to talk about his own running and racing, with a focus on the Great South. He brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and stories to share on this episode. And on top of all of that he will also be heading down for this years race weekend too. Our city continues to see running growing in popularity and the Great South Run is a big part of the running calendar. We discuss the importance of events like this and the joy running brings to everyone. And to take us into this weekend show, Daniel & Dave have time for a quick catch-up for the first 15 minutes, where we discuss chocolate, the passage of time, and Dave's new cat - Charlie, amongst some other things too. Happy running everyone x
Episode 101 - Andy Briggs
2025/09/26
On this episode of the show I am joined by local runner and friend Andy Briggs, who joins us all the way from the Chichester University Sports & Science laboratory. Andy and I discuss the different types of gains that can be made for athletes when they make use of laboratories like they have at Chichester. Environmental chambers, sweat testing, Vo2 Max and more. Our show host Dan DP and others in the area have made use of these previously for events and it was a great discussion with Andy finding out all about how this works. On top of it all, Andy has been kind enough to offer a discount (valid for a period of time from this episode launching) to all listeners who may want to use the laboratory. That code is PRP20 for a 20% discount. Amazing. Thank you to Andy and the team for taking the time to make this all happen. And as always, Dan and Dave get together for a mega long overdue catch up. Happy running and smart training everyone! X
Episode 100 - Running in Dhaka with Nayeem Huq
2025/09/12
On this 100th episode of the show we are joined by local runner Nayeem Huq who a year ago moved back to Dhaka in Bangladesh. Nayeem has taken all of his running and training experiences from Portsmouth, and continued it all on in his home city. I wanted to chat with Nayeem to discuss the similarities and differences between running over there and over here. One thing for sure is that it was great to hear that running is growing in popularity everywhere, and not just here in the UK. Thank you to my guest Nayeem for taking the time out of his evening to come on and speak with us, and thank you to all of you listeners who have joined us over the past 6 years on the show to hear so many stories and tales from the running community. Here's to another 100 episodes right!? Lots of love, Daniel & Dave x
