"Ghana Has No Plan For Young People" – TK Azaglo, Future Of Africa
2026/10/03
What does it really mean for a child to grow up on the streets of Ghana? In this deeply confronting episode of The Peswa Podcast, we sit down with Torwomenye Kwasi Mawuli Azaglo (TK), Founder and President of Future of Africa (FOA), for one of the most difficult conversations we've had about children living in street situations. TK doesn't speak about streetism from a distance. For years, he has gone into the streets of Accra, built relationships with children living there, listened to their stories and experienced their realities firsthand. And in this conversation, he holds nothing back. He shares some of the horrifying realities he has witnessed—from the story of a young boy who was shot by police and later died, to young girls facing sexual violence, pregnancy and devastating experiences while trying to survive on the streets. TK challenges the way Ghanaian society looks at street children. What happens when a child has nowhere safe to sleep? What happens when they are hungry? What happens when they are abused? What happens when the institutions that are supposed to protect them cannot provide a sustainable way out? From leaving his career at Ashesi University to dedicate himself fully to Future of Africa, to building programmes that provide rehabilitation, education, healthcare, skills training and pathways to employment, TK shares the journey that transformed his understanding of what it means to serve. This is not simply a conversation about street children. It is a conversation about poverty, abuse, childhood, responsibility, government, social systems, compassion and the kind of future we are creating for Ghana's children. Watch until the end. This is The Peswa Podcast. #ThePeswaPodcast #FutureOfAfrica #TKAzaglo #Ghana #StreetChildren #Streetism #YouthDevelopment #SocialImpact #GhanaPodcast #Africa
"I will tell you everything” - Prince Kofi Amoabeng
2026/09/26
What really happened to UT Bank? In this deeply revealing episode of The Peswa Podcast, Captain (Rtd.) Prince Kofi Amoabeng, founder and former CEO of UT, opens up about one of the most consequential chapters of his life — the rise, transformation and eventual collapse of UT Bank. Captain Amoabeng takes us back to the beginning — from his early struggles with conventional banking and the creation of Unique Trust Financial Services, to the journey of trying to become a bank, the challenges of obtaining a banking licence, and eventually acquiring an existing bank and transforming it into UT Bank. He speaks candidly about the decisions that shaped UT, the mistakes that were made, the people he trusted, and the internal problems that emerged as the company transitioned from a small entrepreneurial operation into a major financial institution. Amoabeng revisits the events surrounding the 2017 revocation of UT Bank's licence, his understanding of what went wrong, the non-performing loans and financial difficulties facing the institution, and why he believes UT could have been saved. He also opens up about his relationship with former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, and why he later felt betrayed when UT Bank came under pressure. He reflects on what he believes he got wrong, the people who disappointed him, the political environment surrounding UT's collapse, and the lessons he believes African entrepreneurs need to understand before attempting to build institutions that outlive them. This is a conversation about UT Bank — but it is also a conversation about power, influence, trust and the cost of building in Africa. Watch until the end. Eldad Nutakor: The Value of the Inner Life
2026/07/26
In this episode of The Peswa Podcast, we sit down with Eldad Nutakor, founder of Oxygene, for a powerful and deeply reflective conversation on ideas, purpose, and what it truly means to build. Eldad shares a unique perspective on ideas—challenging the notion that they are simply created, and instead exploring the belief that ideas often come from the divine. He explains why ideas matter, not just as tools for business, but as responsibilities tied to purpose. The conversation goes deeper into his belief that entrepreneurial greatness cannot be fully taught. While skills can be learned, he argues that true builders are often called, not made. This is why there can only be one Elon Musk and one Mark Zuckerberg—not because others lack ambition, but because greatness is rooted in individuality. Eldad introduces a powerful idea: “You cannot be anything you want to be, but you can be everything you were created for.” He challenges the culture of limitless possibility and instead calls for alignment with purpose. We also explore the importance of the inner life—the unseen foundation that shapes everything outward. From discipline to identity, Eldad explains why who you are internally determines what you can sustain externally. This episode will shift how you think about ideas, success, and your place in the world. Watch now. #ThePeswaPodcast #Entrepreneurship #Purpose #Ideas #Execution #InnerLife
