Let's Clear Up the Confusion About Masculinity and Femininity
2026/10/06
What exactly does it mean to be "masculine" or "feminine" in your marriage? There are so many conflicting and confusing ideas, even in the church, about what it means to “be a man” or “be a woman.” Some of them create unhealthy competition and unhelpful expectations.  Often, they leave men and women striving, performing, trying to prove themselves, or fit into a particular mold.  What if it's NOT about doing more of the “right” things? What if it starts with simply getting more in tune with who God created you to be in the first place? In this episode, we’re clearing up some of the confusion around masculinity and femininity and exploring what it looks like to live from God’s design. There's incredible freedom and power in being present, secure, and fully alive in the way God uniquely created us. It also creates so much health in our marriages. Here’s Why He Doesn’t Do What He Says He’s Going To Do
2026/09/29
Why does a husband say he’ll do something, but then not follow through?  Over time, that pattern leaves a wife feeling like she has to carry everything, manage everything, and constantly remind her husband to step up. Eventually, disappointment can turn into frustration, criticism, and control. And on the other side, when a husband feels constantly criticized, corrected, or controlled, he may retreat even further, becoming more passive and taking less initiative. The more he steps back, the more she feels like she has to take over. So how do you actually break the cycle? In this episode, we talk about the deeper healing that needs to happen underneath the behaviors for both husband and wife, and how each can begin taking responsibility for their part in creating a healthier marriage. Are You Taking Care of Your Husband or Are You Raising Him?
2026/09/22
No wife wants to believe she's raising her husband. No man wants to be "raised" managed or controlled.  Yet, sometimes a husband goes passive and checks out of responsibility at home, and a wife takes over. Maybe he's afraid to get it "wrong" or maybe, for her, control feels safer than trusting someone else to carry the load. In this unhealthy dynamic neither are experiencing the kind of marriage they actually want. We're not here to shame husbands or blame wives. There are often deeper wounds underneath the pattern: childhood experiences, disappointment, resentment, unmet needs, and years of doing marriage in a dysfunctional way. What looks like control on the surface may be rooted in fear. What looks like passivity may be rooted in shame, avoidance, or a deep belief that he can never get it "right". What does it take for a husband to step back into responsibility, presence, and leadership at home? What does it take for a wife to release control and trust her husband to carry what is his to carry? Marriage was never meant to be one spouse managing the other. It was meant to be a partnership where both people show up in healthy ways that create attraction and connection in the relationship. How to Become Allies Instead of Enemies
2026/09/15
Is your spouse your enemy?  When there’s been years of hurt, disappointment, rejection, criticism, or unmet needs, it’s easy to start seeing your spouse through the lens of your pain. Their words feel threatening. Their reactions confirm the story you’ve been carrying. Soon you’re not just responding to your spouse. You’re responding to everything you believe they’ve done to you. In this episode, we’re talking about what it takes to move from enemies to allies. That means getting underneath the behaviors, understanding the stories and wounds shaping the way you see each other, and taking responsibility for your own healing. When you do that work, something changes. You stop fighting against each other and instead fighting for each other, creating a marriage where you’re on the same team again. He's Not the Spiritual Leader, but Should He Be?
2026/09/08
What does it actually look like for a man to be the spiritual leader of his family? Is it about leading family devotions, making sure everyone is in church, praying out loud, or checking all the “right” boxes? And what happens when a wife feels like her husband isn’t leading spiritually or when a husband feels ashamed because he doesn’t measure up to expectations of what spiritual leadership should look like? In this episode, we’ll take a broader look at the concept of spiritual leadership in marriage. Is Your Spouse Manipulating You?
2026/09/01
Manipulation in marriage isn’t always obvious. Sometimes it looks like guilt, pressure, withdrawal, emotional intensity, playing the victim, or making your spouse feel responsible for your emotions. So often underneath manipulative behavior, there is fear, insecurity, unmet needs, a desire for control, or simply unhealthy patterns learned long before the relationship began. In this episode, we explore how to recognize manipulation, understand what may be driving it beneath the surface, and how to address it with honesty, boundaries, compassion, and maturity. Whether you’re wondering if your spouse is manipulating you or whether you may be doing it without realizing it, this conversation will help you navigate the issue in a healthier way. Need some help? 4 Things Your Wife Is Probably Afraid to Say to You
2026/08/18
What if your wife's greatest need right now is just the freedom to finally tell you what’s been weighing on her heart?  Could it be that your wife has wanted to say something for years but kept quiet, because she’s not sure how you’ll respond? In this episode, we’re uncovering four important things she may be afraid to say to you.  Wives, this episode may help you put words to things you’ve struggled to express. Husbands, it may give you insight you didn't even know you needed.  A wife shouldn’t have to rehearse her words, brace herself for defensiveness, or wonder whether telling the truth will lead to an argument or a shutdown. Creating that kind of safety doesn’t mean agreeing with everything she says, but it means being the kind of man who can hear her heart and be curious instead of reactive.  Need some help? How to Reignite the Spark in a Marriage That's Hurting
2026/08/11
What if you love each other, but you don’t feel it anymore?  Does it seem like the attraction has faded, affection feels forced, or the spark that used to be there naturally now seems impossible to find?  Yes, you’re still committed to your marriage, but over time, hurt, resentment, disconnection, disappointment, or simply years of life together have changed the way you see each other. In this episode, we’re taking a deeper look at what may be happening underneath the lack of attraction and connection. Often, the missing spark isn’t the problem, it’s the symptom of something that has been building beneath the surface. Even if your marriage feels disconnected today doesn’t mean it's doomed to stay that way. There is a way forward and you can have hope for reconnection, healing, desire, and intimacy again.  Need some help? 2026/08/04

Don't Change For Your Spouse
2026/07/28
So many spouses try to change out of fear. They fear conflict, rejection, disappointment, or losing the relationship. Fear might change your behavior for a little while, but it won't truly transform your heart or your marriage. In the end behavior modification will leave you resentful, frustrated and lost. There's a huge difference between changing for your spouse and growing naturally as the man or woman God made you to be.   True transformation has a different motivation and will invite more freedom, peace, and intimacy into your marriage. 2026/07/14
You're up. You're down. You're good. You're not. Marriage can seem like a never-ending roller coaster of dysfunction that keeps you dizzy and sick.  One minute you're connected, the next you're not. 2026/07/07

In this episode, we talk through what trauma is, what happens inside your brain and nervous system when you’ve been wounded, and why so many well-meaning Christians can stay stuck despite praying faithfully for years. How Hormones Impacted Our Marriage Disconnection
2026/06/30
What if some of the conflict in your marriage isn’t just about communication? What if the emotional distance, irritability, defensiveness, or lack of connection isn’t simply a relationship problem? In this episode, we’re talking about how hormones can influence the way husbands and wives think, feel, respond, and relate to one another and how easily we can mistake physical struggles for personal ones. This isn’t about making excuses or blaming hormones, but replacing assumptions with understanding, responding with greater compassion, and prioritizing care for both your physical health and your marriage. This conversation might just help you make sense of dynamics that have never quite added up. Need some help?
