Is This a Threat… or just a Text Message?
2026/01/19
Have you ever turned your read receipts off so people can’t tell if you’ve read their message? It’s a small choice - but it can set off the nervous system like a fire alarm. The problem is, not every alarm means the house is on fire. Sometimes it’s just burnt toast.   This episode explores the difference between real threats and emotional triggers, and why the nervous system often responds to both in exactly the same way. It examines how past experiences - rejection, unpredictability, loss of control, being unseen - can activate protective responses that feel urgent and physical, even when no present danger exists. Emotional intelligence is reframed as the ability to recognise what the body is responding to, regulate before reacting, and repair when needed.   We look at how emotional memory shapes perception, how modern communication amplifies reactivity, and whylearning to distinguish between threat and trigger is essential for emotional health.   At its core, this episode is about learning when the alarm is signalling danger - and when it’s signalling memory.   Emotional intelligence does not mean tolerating harm - it means responding with clarity rather than reactivity.   To access the tools, click FREE RESOURCES in the link below: https://linktr.ee/TheAnatomyofLifePodcast OR visit the link on my Instagram page: @lexi3gram2.0 Disclaimer:The tools shared in this episode are for emotional awareness, nervous system regulation, and self-reflection only. Unearthing the Ground Beneath Our Work with Celia Orsini
2026/01/12
Archaeology is rarely associated with wellbeing, leadership, or modern work culture - yet this conversation reveals why it should be. This episode explores archaeology as a living, embodied practice that shapes identity, regulates the nervous system, and fosters belonging in both individuals and teams.   Joined by Celia Orsini, archaeologist and founder of Archaeology for Well-Being, the discussion moves through heritage as medicine, landscape as a living archive, ancestralloneliness, and the quiet rituals lost in modern workplaces. From displacement and workplace isolation to curiosity, connection, and choice, the episode uncovers how the past lives on - not as history, but as a guide.   This is where heritage meets lived experience, and where belonging is not found, but gently unearthed.   www.archaeology-for-wellbeing.com IG: arch_for_wellbeing   #TheAnatomyOfLife#ArchaeologyForWellbeing #Belonging #NervousSystemHealth #HolisticHealth#HeritageHealing #LandAsMedicine #HealthIsNotATrend

This episode is a raw collection of stories-mine and others-about what it means to live inside a body that the mind refuses to love, and how we begin the journey back to seeing ourselves with compassion.

Dear Diary – The Chokehold and The Gut Punch
2025/09/01
What if your sovereignty… your safety… was threatened—while on holiday? Not in the usual ways we brace for...Not by illness, a breakup. Not by accident. Where the world you knew stood eerily still…And the silence - louder than the news. When the sky lit up. When the sirens started. When people in Doha held their breath. My body knew before the headlines reached me. Atightness in the chest. A familiar bracing in my breath. And I’ve asked myself — why does this feel so deep, when I wasn’t even there? Trauma doesn’t care where you are on the map. It listensfor the rhythm of threat. And it remembers everything. This isn’t a political episode. It’s a human one. In this deeply personal return to The Anatomy of Life, I unpack a week that shook my sense of home, triggered old traumas, and reminded me that fear—real, body-shaking fear—doesn’t care about proximity. I open up the topic of Cumulative trauma reactivation, what it is and how to handle it. What it looks like & what it means to heal in public when you’ve been taught to do it silently.   This was The gut punch & The chokehold I didn’t see coming.   #expatlife #invisibleweight #doha #travelstories #ibiza #lifeabroad #unexpectedmoments
