Description

Planting Seeds with Soul is raw, unedited conversation. Some episodes are with my partner, others with guests who have lived through chaos, loss, addiction, love and transformation. Nothing is off limits. It is like sitting inside a live therapy session where people open their hearts, share their truths, and let it all out. These stories carry pain, joy and everything in between, and by sharing them with the world, they just might help you heal too.

Episode 28: Corey and Kels
2026/04/21
Back into full time construction now so time’s a bit limited. These descriptions can suck up more energy than the podcast itself, so I’m keeping them simple from here. Half the time I’m writing this a week later thinking f**k, I can barely remember what we even talked about anyway. But we always talk about good shit. If you like listening, stick around. If you don’t, then don’t. Love ya.
S2 EP26 | Forged in Darkness with Watene Waenga 🎙️
2026/03/10
Watene sat down with me and opened the door to parts of his life that most people would rather keep locked away. We spoke about a childhood shaped by chaos, a rough upbringing, gangs, anger, violence, addiction, and the kind of environments that can either swallow you whole or forge something powerful inside you. This wasn’t a polished story. It was raw truth. You can feel the weight of the battles he and his family have faced, the moments where life could have easily gone another direction, and the fire it takes to keep walking forward when the road behind you is full of scars. But what hit me most about Watene is where he stands today. A man who has taken that pain, that anger, that addiction and turned it into purpose. Someone who now uses his story, his experiences and his hard earned lessons to help guide others who are walking through similar darkness. This episode isn’t about glorifying the struggle. It’s about understanding it. Because when you sit across from someone who has lived through that kind of storm and come out the other side with a mission, you realise something… the past doesn’t have to define a man, but it can shape the strength he carries forward. We only scratched the surface of Watene’s journey here, but even this small window into his life carries lessons about resilience, accountability, family, addiction, and what it really means to break cycles. Sit back and come along for the conversation. Real stories. Real struggle. Real transformation. 🌱🎙️
S2 EP26 | Corey & Kels share a recent collapse along with these f*****g phones and our kids.
2026/03/01
This episode we covered a few topics around kids and phones, Corey collapsing in the middle of no where and to be honest we don’t really know what else we spoke about 😂 so if you wanna come along for the good times, have a listen🎙️👌
S2 EP25 | The Better Half Starts With You – A Conversation with Josh Hupfeld
2026/02/17
Sat down with Josh Hupfeld, the creator of the Better Half Journal, and just had a real, grounded chat. We spoke about the journal and where it came from. His early days working in Child Services, including the loss of a two year old boy that became his initiation into that world. Confronting. Heartbreaking. The kind of thing that changes how you see people and responsibility. We got into his family, his younger self, the path that shaped him, and what led him to build a journal that helps people look at their own patterns instead of constantly pointing outward. Just two blokes talking about life, ownership, and doing the work most people avoid. 25%off Discount code: SOUL25 https://www.betterhalfjournal.com/discount/soul25?redirect=%2Fcollections%2Fproducts
S2 EP24 | The End of a Season. A conversation with Kels
2026/02/10
The eldest stepping into high school. A threshold. The end of a season. The quiet grief and beauty that comes with watching your kids grow and something familiar slowly fall away. Kels shares something she wrote and reads it out loud. It gets emotional. Because that’s what real life does when you actually stop and feel it. We talk about change. About finding home again beneath the noise. About who we are when the roles soften and the stories pause. The noticing of the witness. That place that doesn’t age, doesn’t leave, doesn’t get pulled apart when seasons change. Nothing to fix. Nothing to solve. Just two humans sitting in truth, love, and the unknown. If you’re moving through change, feeling something end, or quietly becoming someone new, this one might meet you right where you are.
S2 EP23 | When Life Forces You to Pay Attention
2026/02/03
This one didn’t come from theory. It came from family tension, addiction, and a moment that could have gone very differently. Cameron speaks about not seeing eye to eye with family. Distance. Conflict. Trying to navigate relationships when everyone is standing in a different place. Then there was the wake up call. Coke. Chaos. His partner having a seizure right in front of him. A moment that created a real shift, not just for him, but for both of them. We talk about the systems we’re told to trust. The 9 to 5 grind. Being told to wait decades to access our own money. Being sold the idea that someone else has our back when it doesn’t feel true. This isn’t motivation. It’s perspective. If you’ve ever felt caught between the life you’re living and the life you know you’re capable of living jump in bonebags 🌱
S2 EP22 | Healing within
2026/01/28
This episode holds a lot of heart. For the first time, Sharna opens up about loving, losing and marrying her husband in hospital after a 9 month battle that broke her soul. She shares what it's really been like to grieve, to survive and to slowly learn how to heal years later. A raw and deeply human conversation.
S2 EP21 | Happy New Year Bonebags
2026/01/20
Happy New Year Bonebags Our first episode back after the Chrissy break is a deeply honest one. We reflect on the holidays, time away down south, recent goals, and the launch of The Bridge Between Worlds 14 day journey alongside Kel’s e book. At the heart of this conversation is the reality of navigating life as a solo parent. We speak openly about experiencing Christmas for the first time after divorce, waking up alone, and sitting with the quiet that follows. This episode is about grief, courage, and finding your feet again when life takes an unexpected turn.
S2 EP20 | Presence Over Escape with Mitch Egger
2025/12/16
In this final episode of the year I sit down with Mitch Egger a man I trust deeply. Mitch drove nearly three hours just to sit share a meal with my family and have a real conversation. No performance no masks just presence. We speak openly about addiction escapism discipline self respect and what it actually means to stay grounded in environments that once pulled us under. Mitch shares parts of his story from chaos and loss to the man he is today and we explore the deeper layers beneath it all. Why we think the way we think What steals our awareness What we need to let go of And what we must tend to if we want real growth This is the last episode of the season before a short break. Just two men committed to doing the work on and off the mic.
S2 EP19 | When Life Opens a Gate: Will You Walk Through It?
2025/12/09
Second last episode of the year and Kels’ final one for 2025. We talk about something simple that turned into something deeper. I pulled the side fence down at home to do some yard work and our golden retriever Halo suddenly had the whole front yard open to her. But did she explore Or did she stay in the comfort of what she already knew It made us think about life, opportunity and the fear of stepping into new space. Where is life giving you more room right now Are you using it Or avoiding it If you feel the pull to expand, go. Say yes. Take the damn leap. F**k fear.
S2 EP18 | Stop Searching for What Isn’t Broken
2025/12/02
In this episode I sit down with my good mate Mitch Currie and we talk about the evolution of the healing space and where people are getting stuck. These days everyone is talking about trauma and brokenness and everything that is wrong with them. Awareness is important, but if we keep feeding the story of our wounds we just create more of it. When we set our attention on what is wrong, it grows. We end up looking for problems that may not even be there. We speak about the difference between healing from pain and living in the identity of pain. Healing is not about repeating the story of how broken you are. It is about coming back to the truth of who you are. Strength, responsibility and the willingness to step into something greater. We also talk about social media, phones, iPads and the technology our kids are surrounded by. It is not going away. It is about the information they receive and the space we hold for them. The example we set becomes their real guidance and protection. Another big message we share is loving yourself first. You cannot pour into your kids if you are empty. You cannot put your kids first if you are not taking care of yourself. If you are not being the best version of you then your kids will not receive the best version of you. It starts with you. We finish by speaking about our upcoming retreat on the 13th of December. This space is for anyone ready to step into a deeper version of themselves. Men and women are welcome. Spots are already filling up so reach out if you feel called. Only a few spaces left. Tune in and enjoy the conversation.
S2 EP17 | Back in Our MSN Days
2025/11/25
Kels and I sit down for an easy, honest chat about life. We look back on the old MSN days and the funny email names we used to have, and then drift into where life is now. A real conversation about change, growth, and learning to float with it all instead of fighting the waves.
S2 EP16 | Life Is Always Becoming
2025/11/18
In this solo episode I sit with the raw rhythm of life and everything it keeps teaching me. Life doesn’t pause for any of us. It keeps unfolding, shifting, breaking apart and coming back together, and all we can really do is meet it as it is. When we stop fighting what is and start adapting, accepting and moving with it, life becomes an adventure again instead of a burden. I talk about the trap of blaming others, even the systems and governments that feel corrupt and broken. Pointing the finger outward never brings change. Real change begins when we turn that pointer back to ourselves and decide who we want to be in the middle of all the chaos. I move into the reality of death and rebirth, how a hard season can feel like an ending when it’s actually the start of something forming underneath. The fall and the rise happening at the same time. One world dissolving while another slowly appears, like walking a quiet bridge between what was and what is becoming. I also share a little about my new book coming out around Christmas and into the new year, something created to support anyone who is sitting in a difficult chapter and trying to find their way through. It’s a guide back to your own real power, helping you move from the world you feel stuck in toward the world that’s waiting for you on the other side. And at the end of the episode I leave you with a small piece of music to close the space and settle the heart. Tune in, breathe, and walk with me through this one.
S2 EP15 | Finding Strength in Our Stories
2025/11/11
In this episode, Kels opens up about her journey over the past eight weeks, the shifts she has made, the lessons from running, and the moments she has fallen back into old habits. She shares vulnerably about stress eating, self awareness, and how watching Corey at his recent retreat reignited her own drive for growth. Together, we explore why sharing our stories matters, how real conversations can light the way for others, and how the deepest inspiration often comes from within, not from outside.
S2 EP14 | When Distraction Looks Like Success
2025/11/04
🎙️ Podcast Title: When Distraction Looks Like Success Even the good distractions can keep you from facing yourself. In this conversation with Daniel Evans from Walkabout Warriors, we walk back into his childhood. Into the things no kid should ever have to carry. Into the silent shadows that still lived inside him even while he was playing rugby league. He talks about how footy, fitness and even success can become armour. How they can become a distraction from what lives underneath. When the games end, the crowd fades and the silence arrives, that is when the real work begins. We speak about the man he is now. The way he stands for community, culture and healing through his Aboriginal art, workshops and presence. A man reclaiming his story and walking others home in the process.
