44: What Exactly ARE Demons? The Answer Is Stranger Than You Think | Dr. Joel Muddamalle
2026/09/23
In this episode of Everyday Exorcist, Kat and Grant sit down with theologian Dr. Joel Muddamalle to tackle one deceptively simple question: What exactly are demons? Just as Kat and Grant work to make the mysterious topics of healing, deliverance, and the works of the Holy Spirit accessible and practical, Joel has a gift for taking complex biblical and theological ideas and making them clear. By breaking down Scripture, original words, historical context, and Second Temple literature, he helps uncover truths that are often hiding in plain sight. There are plenty of theories about the origin and nature of demons. But in this conversation, Joel walks through the biblical language and ancient context that he believes point toward a surprisingly simple answer.Joel is also the creator of Stranger Theology, a Substack and podcast exploring the strange, supernatural, and often glossed-over parts of the Bible - Balaam’s talking donkey, angels appearing in physical form, the Nephilim, talking serpents, spiritual beings, and more. The conversation even ventures into questions about aliens, Bigfoot, and how Christians should think about things that don't fit neatly into our modern categories. Because sometimes the Bible is stranger than we give it credit for—and our biblical worldview may be big enough to hold more mystery than we realize. If you’ve ever wondered what demons actually are, where they came from, or how the supernatural worldview of the biblical authors changes the way we understand spiritual warfare, this conversation will take you deeper while keeping you rooted in the truth of Scripture.
043 A Father’s Blessing: The Missing Piece in a Broken World
2026/09/17
The whole world is swimming in a soup of broken identity, distorted love, and a desperate search for approval from all the wrong places. But the affirmation we’re longing for can ultimately only be found in God.In today’s episode of Everyday Exorcist, Grant and Kat unpack the powerful role of a father’s blessing in healing and deliverance. Before Jesus ever performed a miracle or launched into public ministry, the Father spoke these words over Him: “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Jesus was blessed, loved, and affirmed by His Father before He did anything to earn it. For many people, those are the very words they never heard growing up. As believers, and especially as people ministering in healing, deliverance, and restoration, we have the opportunity to stand in the gap and speak the truth of God’s heart over others: You are a son. You are a daughter. You are loved. You are wanted. You are seen. Your Father delights in you. The blessing can be a powerful tool in the deliverance ministry toolbelt because it doesn’t simply speak life, it can help unhook the lies people believe about God and themselves because of wounds from their earthly parents. In this episode, Grant and Kat explore how speaking words of blessing and truth can open the door to deep healing, restore identity, and help people break free from lifelong patterns of feeling unworthy, unwanted, rejected, or unloved. Sometimes freedom isn’t only about casting something out. Sometimes it’s about finally receiving what was missing, and hearing the truth of who you are as a beloved son or daughter of God.
042 Bitterness, Revenge & Unforgiveness: The Open Door Keeping You Bound
2026/09/11
Do you find yourself retelling the same story of how you were wronged and wishing you could finally get justice, or even revenge? Do you see someone who hurt you in the grocery store and immediately turn the other way to avoid them? Do you carry around a laundry list of offenses, replaying what happened and imagining what you would say or do differently next time? The connection between forgiveness and walking in complete freedom is staggering. As part of our Top Six Demons series, Grant and Kat tackle one of the most common roots they encounter in prayer and deliverance ministry: unforgiveness. They break down the biblical foundation for forgiveness, why Jesus takes it so seriously, and how unresolved offense can keep us bound long after the original wound occurred. They unpack the signs that unforgiveness may still have a hold in your life - from rehearsing old offenses and avoiding certain people to bitterness, resentment, fantasies of revenge, and the constant need to see someone “pay” for what they did.But forgiveness doesn’t mean pretending it didn’t hurt. It doesn’t mean what happened was okay, and it doesn’t necessarily mean reconciliation or restored trust. Forgiveness is releasing the debt and surrendering your right to revenge into the hands of Jesus. In this episode, we talk about what forgiveness is and what it isn’t, why it is so essential to spiritual freedom, and practical steps you can take to forgive even when your emotions haven’t caught up yet.If you’ve ever thought, “I know I’m supposed to forgive them, but I don’t know how,” this episode is for you.

040 Curses 101: How to Recognize Them, Break Them & Walk in Freedom
2026/08/13
In today’s episode of Everyday Exorcist, Grant and Kat tackle the topic of curses. What exactly is a curse? How do you know if you’re living under one? Can Christians be cursed? And is it possible to be affected by a curse without even realizing it?
Sudden or unexplained sickness, financial calamity, recurring accidents, destructive family patterns, or a history of premature death can sometimes point to spiritual oppression connected to a curse. But the good news is: curses are not something Christians need to fear.
Grant and Kat walk through several types of curses - including word curses, white magic, black magic, witchcraft, and generational curses - and explain how they can gain influence in a person’s life.
Most importantly, they give you practical, biblical steps for breaking curses and walking in freedom. Through the authority of Jesus, you can renounce agreements, break the power of destructive words, remove spiritual oppression, and invite the life and blessing of God into places that have been held captive.
This empowering episode will help you recognize what may be operating beneath the surface, confront it without fear, and experience the freedom and healing Jesus has made available.

020 Doctrine of Demons (Part 1): The Lie of Karma
The statement “I’m getting what I deserve” often comes from a place of shame, condemnation, or a distorted view of God’s justice. It assumes that pain, failure, or hardship are forms of divine punishment - or that we can somehow earn blessing and favor through our own effort. At its core, this lie partners with a demonic doctrine often referred to as karma.
In this episode of Everyday Exorcist, Grant and Kat kick off a new series on the core lies believers often agree with - lies that can open doors to demonic attachment and oppression. They unpack the power of agreement, reminding us that whatever we agree with, we empower.
God’s goodness is far greater than we realize, and freedom begins when we change the way we think, repent of false beliefs, and break agreement with the lies that keep us bound.
This heartfelt conversation invites listeners to honestly ask: Am I partnering with the lie that I’m getting what I deserve? and to step into the full freedom and identity we have as sons and daughters of God.

002 Everyday Exorcist: Be Healed in Jesus' Name
What do you do when you are praying for a back to be healed and a demon manifests?
What steps do you take when you realize the person you are praying for experienced a traumatic accident around their neck injury?
As believers and followers of Jesus, one of the commissions Jesus gave us is to heal the sick. If it were as simple as "Be healed in Jesus' Name," then the whole church would walk in this gift confidently, but we know that's not true.
In this episode, Grant and Kat talk about the Biblical model for healing today. Following the steps Jesus took in his ministry, they discuss the 5-step prayer model and unpack the importance and nuances of each step when you are praying for healing for those who are in need.

039 Control: The Demonic Stronghold of False Peace
2026/06/23
In this episode of Everyday Exorcist, Grant and Kat continue their series on common demonic strongholds by tackling one of the most subtle and destructive of them all: control.
In previous episodes, they explored fear and lust. Today, they uncover how control quietly takes root in people's lives and often disguises itself as responsibility, success, perfectionism, people-pleasing, OCD, eating disorders, passive aggression, and even strong leadership. What begins as a desire for safety, stability, or peace in a chaotic environment can eventually become a prison that damages relationships, hinders intimacy with God, and leaves people exhausted trying to manage every outcome.
Drawing from years of ministry experience, Grant and Kat discuss how control frequently originates in childhood wounds, trauma, or environments where individuals learned to rely on themselves rather than trust others. They explore the spiritual and emotional dynamics behind this stronghold, why it can be so difficult to recognize in ourselves, and how the enemy uses it to keep people trapped in cycles of anxiety, striving, and isolation.
The conversation also dives into the relationship between inner healing and deliverance, the role of the Holy Spirit in uncovering root issues, the physical and emotional manifestations of control, and why true freedom often requires patience, surrender, and a willingness to revisit painful places with Jesus. They discuss the challenges of ministering to those caught in deep patterns of control and why healing cannot be forced but must be welcomed.
Ultimately, this episode is an invitation to lay down the burden of managing everything ourselves. As believers, we were never meant to carry the weight of control. True peace is not found in controlling our circumstances but in trusting the One who holds all things together. When we surrender our need to control and yield to Jesus, we discover the refuge, freedom, and shalom our souls have been longing for all along.
038 Doctrine of Demons (Part 3): The Dangerous Lie Christians Believe About Sin
2026/06/12
Most Christians unknowingly wrestle with the belief that they'll always struggle with sin. That victory is impossible and defeat is inevitable. But what if that belief isn't biblical at all?
In this episode of Everyday Exorcist, Grant and Kat expose one of the most common lies believers partner with: "I'll never be free from sin." Together, they unpack how this mindset can become a spiritual stronghold, keeping Christians trapped in shame, condemnation, and cycles of defeat.
Scripture teaches that through the cross, Jesus not only forgave sin. He broke its power. Your old self was crucified with Christ, and your identity is no longer that of a sinner striving for victory, but a redeemed son or daughter living from victory. Grant and Kat explore what it means to be a new creation, how to renew your mind with the truth of the Gospel, and why believers are called to put sin to death through the power of the Holy Spirit.
If you're tired of the shame cycle, struggling with recurring sin, or wondering whether lasting freedom is really possible, this episode will challenge your perspective and encourage you to embrace the freedom Jesus purchased for you.
Victory over sin isn't just a future promise - it's a present reality in Jesus.
037 Shining Light in the Dark | How Bigfoot Led People Back to Faith (With Blurry Creatures)
2026/05/27
In this episode of Everyday Exorcist, Grant and Kat are joined by Nate Henry and Luke Rodgers from the Blurry Creatures podcast - a show that began with conversations about Bigfoot and the unexplained, but quickly evolved into deep theological discussions about the unseen realm, spiritual warfare, and the mysteries most people spend their lives ignoring.
As Nate and Luke have leaned into conversations surrounding the supernatural, they’ve found themselves face-to-face with the very real clash between good and evil. Together, the crew shares incredible stories of divine encounters, unexpected miracles, spiritual awakening, and the ways the Holy Spirit breaks into ordinary life with extraordinary power.
This conversation dives deep into how intertwined the spiritual realm truly is with our everyday existence—and why understanding it changes the way we see faith, fear, authority, and the Kingdom of God.
Ignoring the supernatural leaves believers unequipped to confront darkness—and blind to the power and presence of God available to them right now. Whether you’re new to faith, curious about spiritual warfare, wrestling with unexplained experiences, or have followed Jesus for decades, this episode will challenge your assumptions, stretch your imagination, and ignite your faith.
If you love Blurry Creatures, are fascinated by the unseen realm, or are hungry for authentic encounters with God, this episode is for you.
The supernatural is not dead. The Spirit is still moving. And the stories in this episode may completely redefine the way you see the world around you.
036 Everyday People. Extraordinary God: Stories of Healing and Deliverance with John Paul Cahill
2026/05/21
Join us as we explore the extraordinary journey of John Paul Cahill, a pastor whose life was radically transformed through encounters with the Holy Spirit. From a rebellious young man working on an organic farm to an international minister seeing blind eyes opened, people healed, and lives set free through deliverance, John Paul’s story is a powerful testimony of what God can do through ordinary people fully surrendered to Him.
In this episode, Grant and Kat dive into wild stories of healing, freedom, and supernatural encounters while also unpacking deep truths about authentic faith, obedience, repentance, and the fear of the Lord. John Paul shares honestly about failure, humility, and the beauty of being real before God instead of pretending to have it all together.
This conversation demystifies the supernatural and reminds us that ministry isn’t just for the “super spiritual” it’s for everyday believers willing to say yes to Jesus. Full of practical wisdom, dramatic testimonies, and a ton of laughs, this is one of our favorite episodes yet.
We believe this episode will build your faith, encourage your heart, and inspire you to step into your divine calling.
We can all be Everyday Exorcists.
035 Grief: An Open Door for the Enemy
2026/05/12
This week, Katherine and Grant unpack powerful stories and key takeaways from recent ministry trips - sharing prophetic moments, healing testimonies, deliverance insights, and practical wisdom for everyday believers learning to minister in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Grant shares a compelling testimony involving prayer for someone battling MS, and how spiritual strongholds connected to a past involvement with Islam can sometimes continue to affect the body even after someone comes to Christ. They discuss how certain “open doors” and unresolved spiritual ties can create ongoing oppression - and the authority believers have in Jesus to bring freedom.
Kat reflects on what she learned while observing other healing and deliverance sessions, including a fascinating conversation around prolonged, unrighteous grief and how deep heartbreak can sometimes become a foothold for the enemy - especially within family systems and generational patterns.
Together they explore why generational roots, inherited brokenness, and spiritual attachments are often connected to the deeper issues people face - and why discernment, compassion, and listening to the Holy Spirit are essential in helping people walk into lasting freedom.
This episode is full of practical ministry insight, real stories, and honest conversation about healing, deliverance, grief, generational strongholds, and the transforming power of Jesus.
034 When Demons Manifest + Real Answers to Your Questions (Call-In Show)
2026/05/01
In this episode of Everyday Exorcist, Grant and Kat share a powerful ministry debrief from Grant’s recent trip to Argentina - highlighting what happens when you speak simple, truth-filled language about the demonic and how it can lead to real manifestation and freedom.
They unpack how demons often respond when truth is spoken clearly - just like in Scripture when Jesus spoke in the temple and unclean spirits cried out—and why keeping things practical (not sensational) actually leads to greater breakthrough in deliverance ministry.
Then they dive into listener call-in questions, covering topics like:
What do deliverance dreams mean spiritually? How do generational sin patterns or “curses” actually work and how do you break them? How can you hear the voice of God more clearly? What’s the difference between body, soul, and spirit? How do you create an environment where kids can encounter God?This episode is full of practical teaching on deliverance, spiritual authority, and everyday ways the Kingdom of God shows up in real life.
It closes with a powerful testimony of deliverance, forgiveness, and the restoration of a marriage - a real picture of what freedom in Jesus can look like.
033 Fear & Lust: The Strongholds We See Everywhere
2026/04/08
Fear. Lust. Control. Death. Unforgiveness. Shame. These are the usual suspects - and in this episode, Grant and Kat start pulling them apart.
They focus in on fear and lust - two of the most common (and most normalized) strongholds, and expose how they actually work. Spoiler: it’s not the struggle that traps you… it’s the agreement.
They talk real-life patterns, how to spot it, and how to actually help people get free.Part 2 is coming - but this one will already mess with you (in a good way).
Freedom isn’t theory. Jesus still sets people free.
