39: Conflict & Creativity with Shivani Mehta Bhatia
2026/10/22
Conflict facilitator and writer Shivani Mehta Bhatia joins as a colleague and friend on this episode of Feed the Art, to chat with Catherine about the ways that conflict and creativity intersect -- and in fact can be one and the same.
In this conversation, Shivani shares many of her learnings from her experience in community-based care work and justice-rooted organizations. Listen in to learn about the ways that power dynamics and relational dynamics affect our approaches to conflict...and our relationship with our creative practices.
This season is all about exploring different (and sometimes unexpected) tools that can support your creativity. Try them on and see what works for you!

About our guest:
Shivani Mehta Bhatia is a conflict facilitator and writer based in New York City. She works with senior leaders at justice-rooted organizations -- especially queer folks and women of color -- helping them use conflict as a diagnosis for change. She came to this work after a decade inside public health, crisis response, and community-based care, where she kept noticing the same pattern: the most persistent strategy problems were almost always relational ones, rooted in power and story. Shivani is also the author of Intimate Practice, an ongoing research project on birth, sex, and death work.

37: Welcome to Season Four!: finding new ways to support your creativity
2026/09/24

Tune in to start gathering new tools for experimentation in your own creative practice!
In this introductory episode for season four, host Catherine LaSota talks about the importance of finding the methods that work for you, as you draft your book, write your songs, make your paintings, or work on any other creative pursuit that is meaningful to you...even if (maybe especially if!) those methods are unusual and not the "expected" way to do things.
