Description

Jeremy Lane is a regular contributor to The Philly Soccer Page, and is described there in this way: "In high school, Jeremy was a half decent fullback. In college, he became a mediocre winger/striker. Since then, he's actually gotten pretty good. Too bad he's on the wrong side of 30." Chris Gibbons is a former editor and long-time contributor to the Philly Soccer Page, but known more for his Valderrama-an playing style, in that he has the ability to grow more hair than all but the most dedicated of his opponents, and prides himself on a truly minimalist playing style (ie: where running is largely frowned upon).

2016, S14 E8: The best stretch in league history
2026/10/21
The Union juggernaut rolled on in October, extending their winning streak into double digits and posting the best 13-match stretch in league history. Cavan Sullivan set records for MLS teenagers, Milan Iloski put himself into the Golden Boot conversation, and Bruno Damiani became the player he was always said to be. Jeremy and Chris break it all down on this edition of the All Three Points Podcast.
2026, S14, E7: We didn't jinx it!
2026/09/18
Another three games for the Boys in Blue unbeaten, putting them firmly in the MLS Cup Playoff picture. Slipping by Montreal was dodging a classic trap game bullet against a mediocre team, but 5-0 thrashings of midtable sides FC Cincinnati and away to San Diego FC were different things altogether. Join Jeremy and Chris to hear all about it.
2026, S14 E6: Unbeaten in seven
2026/08/31
Your Philadelphia Union, the worst team in the leauge just a few shorts weeks ago - the worst version of this franchise at one point this season - are unbeaten in seven straight league games. How did they do it?  Jeremy and Chris are here to tell you.
2026, S14 E5: The Union are back... and totally different?
2026/07/17
After a World Cup filled with glorious highs and stunning lows, the Philadelphia Union and Major League Soccer are back. For the Union, they're also returning with a new Head Coach, a new Sporting Director, and perhaps a new and old left back.  Chris and Jeremy are back too, as they always are, to get caught up.
2026, S14 E4: The worst Union team of all time?
2026/05/15
The last-place Philadelphia Union showed some life over the course of the last 5 games. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to produce any meaningful soccer. Jeremy and Chris are back, throwing out any pretense of game reporting, to talk about the problems in Chester and the potential ways forward.
2026, S14 E3: A glimmer of hope?
2026/04/15
A stretch of dour results put the Union at the bottom of the MLS table and out of the continental cup. Only a second half comeback in their final match of the interval gave fans any glimmer of hope. How much though? Jeremy and Chris and the All Three Points Podcast are here to discuss.
2026, S14 E2: Ain't no sunshine
2026/03/10
Early season optimism in Chester has suddenly turned sour, as the Boys in Blue opened their 2026 campaign with three listless losses. The underlying data still looks fine, but the eye test says something is wrong in U-Ville. Chris and Jeremy break things down. What's the problem? Are the Union playing favorites? Who is coming to save them - or are they already here?
2026, S14 E1: Your 2026 Philadelphia Union!
2026/02/17
The All 3 Points Podcast returns for another season!   The Union have turned over a large portion of their core for the second year in a row. Will it work? Will it matter? They have a coach who, in his short managerial career, has had one regression to the mean in his second season while coaching elsewhere - will it happen again? And unlike last year, the Union have a packed calendar this season straight from the off. Can they survive the mid-week match gauntlet?
2025, Episode 14: The end of season podcast
2025/12/10
An unequivocally and unexpectedly successful Union season ended with a loss to New York City FC in the MLS Cup Playoffs. Jeremy and Chris are back to talk about the game, the season, the roster, the front office, and what's next.
2025, Episode 13: The Union move on!
2025/11/05
The Philadelphia Union put the Chicago Fire away over the weekend, demolishing the midwestern side 3-0 after eeking out a penalty shootout victory the week before. The first round match up in The MLS Cup Playoffs was one of contrasting styles and contrasting fortunes, and Chris and Jeremy are here to talk about all of it. There was also a regular season match against Charlotte that no one watched. That makes 3 games!
2025, Episode 12: Silverware for your Philadelphia Union
2025/10/07
The Philadelphia Union, fresh off their worst week of the 2025 season, turned in one of their best weeks of the campaign. They first went to the District and thumped DC United 6-0 and, following some fortuitous results elsewhere, took down New York City FC at home to win the Supporter's Shield. Chris and Jeremy brought former Philly Soccer Page Managing Editor Peter Andrews on to discuss the momentous occasion.
2025, Episode 11: A no-good, very bad week
2025/09/23
The Union had hugely important matches in Vancouver and Nashville last week, but of which ended in losses - one of which was an historic drubbing. They finished the seven-day stretch with a win at home against New England, but a listless one at best. And yet, as this impressive Union campgain comes closer to an end, much is still in the team's control.  Jeremy and Chris stop by your podcast queue to talk about it.
2025, Episode 10: Through thick and thin
2025/09/10
The Union continue their unexpected run through the Major League Soccer summer atop the Supporter's Shield standings. With 5 league matches to go and an Open Cup Semifinal, the season is already a success - but with a tantalizing set of trophies well within reach. Jeremy and Chris are back to talk Red Bulls times two, Chicago, and Cincinnati.
2025, Episode 9: The Midsummer Blahs
2025/08/13
A draw in Houston, a win against Colorado, and another draw against a reborn Toronto FC - the Union weren't great in late July and early August, but they did enough to stay atop the Shield Standings and continue to gather points.
2025, Episode 8: 5 games, 3 wins, and lots of random lineups
2025/07/18
An international break and the typical summer smash of games gave Union fans 5 matches in just a three weeks. The Boys in Blue took points and took some knocks along the way, and Chris and Jeremy are here to tell it all.
