'That' Final Over: Zimbabwe vs Australia ODI Review
2026/09/27
Australia leave Harare with a 3-0 series win, but with plenty of takeaways to discuss.
Josho and Jimmy sit with a week that asked the 50-over questions after Windhoek. Two results that looked ugly on paper. One finish that was anything but: Zimbabwe 271, Australia nine down, 27 still needed, a packed Harare Sports Club on its feet, and a one-wicket win with one ball to spare.
We work through the series game by game — Newman Nyamhuri’s maiden ODI five-for, Brad Evans as the lead seamer, Craig Ervine’s 156, and Sikandar Raza’s 183 at 91, including an unbeaten 81 when the side needed it. Then the last over: Wesley Madhevere, Graeme Cremer unused, Saki’s press conference, and whether “he put his hand up” is good enough.

2026/09/13

We review the key takeaways from Windhoek, consider Zimbabwe’s likely XI in the absence of an official squad announcement, and set predictions for a contest that carries significant World Cup preparation value. We discuss team depth, selection questions, and whether Zimbabwe’s ODI side can produce competitive performances against one of the world’s strongest white-ball teams.

Windhoek Calling: Tri-Series Preview & Selection Riddles
2026/08/27
Zimbabwe head to Windhoek for the FNB T20 Tri-Series against Namibia and a second-string South Africa. Seven games, one ground, three 2027 World Cup co-hosts — and a format we didn’t ask for.
Josh and Jimmy break down what this series is actually worth, why Namibia’s hosting moment matters, and why South Africa are here with Bjorn Fortuin as captain. Then the 15: Graeme Cremer’s return, Richard Ngarava’s absence, Kundai Matigimu’s jump into the squad, Ben Curran’s last look in T20s, and whether Dion Myers has earned another run.
Plus the players who piled up domestic runs and still didn’t make the plane, our starting XI, and predictions for the week.

2026/08/08
In his first-ever sit-down interview, Matthew Campbell joins the ZimCricketPod to tell the story behind one of the most exciting rises in Zimbabwean cricket.

He takes us through his rapid progression from club cricket to the Southern Rocks, the consistency behind four first-class centuries in only 17 matches, and his brilliant 119 for Zimbabwe A in Bangladesh. We also discuss the growing calls for a national debut, dealing with expectations on social media, where he could fit into the Zimbabwe side and his ambitions for the 2027 World Cup.

SPECIAL EPISODE: Grassroots Cricket with Tawanda Karasa
2026/06/14
This week on ZimCricketPod, we sat down with Tawanda Karasa of GrassRoots Cricket.
It's one of those conversations that reminds you why cricket matters beyond the boundary rope. GrassRoots Cricket are doing extraordinary work: sending kit to homeless children in Zimbabwe's townships, flying Australian coaches over for grassroots clinics, and getting players into schools and disadvantaged communities where cricket might otherwise never reach. Tawanda walked us through all of it, and honestly, it was humbling to hear. These are people putting in real work, quietly, for kids who deserve every opportunity.
We're proud to shine a light on what they're doing, and we're genuinely excited about what's ahead as we look to work more closely with them going forward. Give this one a listen.

EXCLUSIVE: Interview with Steve Kirby
2026/04/03
In one of our most special episodes to date, we sit down with former-Zimbabwe bowling coach Steven Kirby, a county cricket stalwart, passionate coach, and one of the most genuine men the game has to offer.
Steve takes us through a remarkable career in county cricket, the transition into coaching, and what drew him to Zimbabwe. We dive deep into his 18 months as bowling coach for Zimbabwe, the unforgettable highs of the 2022 T20 World Cup campaign, and the gut-wrenching heartbreak of the ODI qualifier defeat to Scotland in Bulawayo.
But more than the results, this episode is about a man who bleeds cricket. Steve was honest, emotional, and refreshingly real, sharing his thoughts on where Zimbabwe cricket goes from here and why his belief in this team has never wavered.
