Fire Dan Quinn? Blundersauras Rex!
2026/10/13
The Commanders have found yet another way to make us miserable. 🏈
Josh and James are back for an impromptu therapy session after Washington’s spectacular clock-management disaster against the Giants. A game that should have been won ends in a 27-27 tie, and the lads have plenty to say about Dan Quinn, David Blough, Jayden Daniels and one of the most inexplicable sequences of game management you’re ever likely to see.
We break down the final-minute meltdown, dish out the blame, question whether Quinn should already be on the hot seat, and wonder whether there’s any realistic hope for the rest of the season. There’s also the defensive collapse, concerns about player development, a questionable running back room, and a daunting trip to face the 5-0 San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football.
Plus, a brief technical meltdown of our own, because apparently even the recording software has had enough.
One win, three losses and one debacle of a tie. Fire Dan Quinn.
As always, find us on Twitter/X and get involved in the misery.
Hail on Three.
London baby! Colts game preview show
2026/10/02
THE COMMANDERS ARE IN LONDON. AND SO ARE WE.
Hail on Three goes international(ish) as Josh and Lee record the pod together in person for the first time in a while - from a pub garden bench in deepest Suffolk, with a pint of Guinness, an Aspalls and a surprisingly lovely October afternoon.
And there’s a game to talk about.
Marcus Mariota is confirmed as the starter for Sunday’s London showdown with the Colts, so we get into whether Magic Marcus can make it two in a row, how much Washington needs to lean on the run game, and whether this defense can stop Jonathan Taylor and the Indianapolis ground attack.
We’re also talking London takeover, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the joys of having the Commanders as the home team, international-game weirdness, injury news, players we’re expecting to make some noise, and whether this team can actually make it 2–2.
And James couldn't join us because he's moving house, but he has recorded his prediction - and naturally, we've saved it for the very end.
🏈 Hail.
Skins shock Seattle!
2026/09/28
0–2. Jayden injured. Season over. Fire everyone. See you next year...
Then Washington goes and beats the 12-game winning, Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks 33–31 in one of the maddest games we've watched in a long time.
Josh and Lee are back to bask in the most unexpected Victory Monday imaginable, breaking down how the hell it happened — Sonny Styles forcing turnovers, Kaine Medrano going full hero mode, Terry McLaurin being scary again, David Blough calling an absolute blinder and Marcus Mariota pulling out the read option from his Oregon days to seal the thing.
The hope is back. We are back.
God help us.
Disaster in Dallas
2026/09/22
There’s no point saying good morning.
Jayden Daniels is injured again, the season already feels like it’s slipping away, and the fallout from another brutal loss to Dallas leaves Lee and James wondering where Washington goes from here.
The guys go completely off-script to discuss Daniels’ injury, the state of the defence, Adam Peters’ draft record, Dan Quinn’s future, the decisions that have led the team here, and whether there’s any realistic path back into the season.
With Seattle looming, the mood is about as bleak as it gets — but there’s still plenty to argue about, including what happens next if the losses keep piling up.
Plus: Marcus Mariota, Anthony Lynn, the Jayden Daniels contract question, the NFL Draft, and an early prediction for Seattle.
Hail.
Week 2 Preview Show - We Want Dallas
2026/09/18
The Commanders are heading to Dallas for Week 2 - and after a narrow loss to Philadelphia, the boys are feeling surprisingly confident about this one.
Josh, James and Lee preview Washington’s first divisional road game of the season, including the state of the secondary, the challenge of containing CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, whether the Cowboys rivalry is still alive, and what we need to see from Jayden Daniels and the offense.
Plus: Crosskey Merritt’s fumble, Dan Quinn calling out Mike Sainristil, the return of Dorance Armstrong, red-zone football, three increasingly optimistic score predictions… and Lee’s $150 Whole Foods shopping spree after two beers.
Can the Commanders avoid an 0–2 start and pull off a big win in Arlington?
Hail 🏈
Close but no cigar in Philly
2026/09/14
The Commanders fall 24-22 to the Eagles in a gut-wrenching Week 1 defeat - but there’s plenty to like despite the loss.
Josh, James and Lee break down the two-point conversion attempt, Jayden Daniels’ encouraging return, David Blough’s first game as offensive coordinator and the frustrating lack of involvement for Terry McLaurin.
But the biggest positive? We have a defense. An aggressive new-look unit, a huge debut from Sonny Styles, and an impressive first game from defensive coordinator Daronte Jones have the guys feeling considerably better about Washington’s chances this season.
Plus: Antonio Williams’ breakout debut, coaching grades, Man of the Match and a look ahead to a suddenly massive Week 2 clash with Dallas.
Hail.
Panic stations?
2026/09/02
The vibes were high. Then they weren't.
With the 2026 season just over a week away, Josh and James return to assess the state of the Commanders after a worrying end to preseason. The offensive line - particularly center - is causing serious concern, the cornerback room is looking increasingly threadbare, and the 41–3 loss to Baltimore hasn't exactly helped calm the nerves.
Lee joins from afar with a suitably pessimistic voice note, while Josh and James debate the panic meter, Dan Quinn's future, whether the Commanders can avoid another disastrous start, and whether preseason actually means anything at all.
Plus: running backs, kickers, Stefon Diggs, NFL Game Pass, fantasy advice, plans for the London game, and a surprisingly heated discussion about queueing at the top of Snowdon.
The football is nearly back. The vibes are... complicated.
Another preseason darling at running back?
2026/08/17
The Edwards brothers are back for a two-man edition of Hail on Three, with the NFL season creeping closer and actual Washington football finally back on our screens.
We react to the brutal Laremy Tunsil injury and what losing one of the NFL’s best left tackles means for Jayden Daniels and the Commanders offense, before digging into Washington’s 20-7 preseason win over Miami. There’s running back intrigue as undrafted rookie Robert Henry Jr. makes his case, Kaytron Allen finds the end zone, Marcus Mariota picks up an injury and the kicker battle somehow manages to get even less reassuring.
Plus: Sonny Styles’ first NFL snaps, some deep-roster names to watch, Van Jefferson propaganda, Jayden Daniels’ slightly bizarre LSU number dispute, and a detour through Ipswich Cardinals football and the ever-expanding Hail on Three contingent heading to London.
Preseason is here. Four weeks to Philly. Hail.
The boys are back in town
2026/08/08
The boys are finally back after the summer break, and there’s plenty of Commanders football to catch up on.
We react to Washington’s late addition of Stefon Diggs and what he could mean for Jayden Daniels, Terry McLaurin and the offense, before picking out some of the less-heralded free-agent signings we think could make a big impact this season. There’s also plenty from training camp, including the early buzz around Sonny Styles, the battle at kicker, the increasingly interesting WR room and what we want to see when preseason gets underway.
Plus: a surprise Hail on Three debut from Lee and Josh's dad, some early fantasy chat, and James returns with a long-awaited Hot Take on one of the great threats to British society: people forming an orderly queue at the pub.
Football is nearly back. Hail.
Schedule reactions & OTA ramblings
2026/06/01
The boys are back together to reflect on the schedule, chat about a reunion in London, and early thoughts on OTAs. And James has a hot take!

Draft Day! Final Commanders thoughts & hot takes
2026/04/23
Draft day is here.
Josh opens this solo pod with a tribute to Sean Taylor, setting the tone for what a true defensive game-changer looks like, and why that’s exactly what Washington should be chasing at pick #7 in the 2026 NFL Draft.
From there, it’s three clear themes:
What we want to happen – a blue-chip defensive star to anchor the future? Love? What we think will happen – realistic scenarios, including a likely pick in Caleb DownsHot takes – bold predictions for both Washington and the wider leagueJosh breaks down potential fits, draft strategy, trade-back scenarios, and why fixing the defense is critical to supporting the team’s long-term direction. He also calls out a possible move back into the top 100 and questions whether the league is overthinking this year’s receiver class.
Later, James and Lee join with their takes from London and Chicago to round out a full Hail on Three draft preview.
Enjoy the draft. Hail.
NFL Draft Preview & Commanders Mocks 2.0
2026/04/20
The draft is almost here… and things just got interesting.
Josh is joined by Lee (live from Chicago) for a full-on NFL Draft preview as we head into Thursday night. With James away celebrating in Cyprus (and still managing to send in a full 7-round mock), the guys dive into their own mocks, throw some curveball scenarios at each other, and react to a huge, unexpected trade that could shake up the entire top 10.
They also talk Commanders’ new uniforms - a return to a more classic look that finally feels like the team again - and what a perfect draft night could mean… including the possibility of breaking a decade-long jersey drought.
Draft chaos, bold predictions, and a big week ahead - let’s get into it.

Love is in the air?
2026/04/06
Josh is joined by James and Lee for the first full trio pod in a while, recording from Suffolk and Chicago to put a bow on the Commanders’ free agency period and look ahead to the 2026 NFL Draft. The guys assess Washington’s overall approach in free agency, including the edge additions, linebacker upgrades, depth at running back, and the lingering questions at wide receiver and center.
From there the conversation turns fully to the draft, with each host laying out their ideal scenario at pick No. 7. There’s plenty of debate around Jeremiah Love, positional value, roster-building philosophy, and which prospects best fit Washington’s long-term future around Jayden Daniels.
The episode wraps with some lighter Commanders talk, including uniform updates, owners meetings observations, and a hot take from James on keeping the rivalry with the Eagles very much alive.
