49. Making Space for Death, Grief, and Legacy with Karen Joko
2026/09/22
In this deeply beautiful conversation, I’m joined by Karen Joko, a death doula and mortician who has created profoundly thoughtful offerings for people navigating death, caregiving, the loss of a loved one, and everything that comes with loving someone through life’s most tender transitions.
We talk about death. We talk about grief. We talk about caregiving, legacy, healing, and what it means to hold space for experiences that our culture often encourages us to avoid. Karen brings so much warmth, wisdom, compassion, and humanity to this conversation, and truly, we could have talked for hours. There will absolutely be a part two.

48. I Been KNOWIN: The End of Pretending I Don’t Know
2026/09/06
Have you ever received a “revelation” and then realized…ma’am, this is not new information?
You knew. You BEEN knew. Your body knew, your intuition knew, your left eyebrow knew—and yet there you were, gathering more evidence, asking twelve more people, pulling another card, and waiting for the universe to send a notarized letter.
In this episode, I’m talking about that hilarious, mildly offensive moment when the truth finally lands and you realize it has actually been sitting beside you the entire time, tapping its foot and looking at its watch.
We’re getting into self-trust, intuition, overthinking, and all the creative ways we pretend we “need more clarity” when what we really need is to admit what we already know.
Also, it is not Tuesday—my usual podcast day—but apparently this message had somewhere to be.
Y'all, we are done acting like we didn’t know.
We BEEN KNOWIN. BYE.
47. Welcome to The Playground: A New Era of Joy, Play, and Authenticity
2026/08/25
The rebrand isn’t just new colors, new fonts, or a fresh podcast cover. It’s me giving myself permission to show up as more of who I actually am.
Brighter. Bolder. More playful. More honest. More irreverent. More intuitive. More me.
In this episode, I’m talking about what it means to evolve without abandoning yourself, to stop squeezing into versions of your work that no longer fit, and to allow your brand to reflect the actual human being behind it. Because healing isn’t becoming someone new—it’s becoming more you. And apparently, so is rebranding.
I’m also sharing all about The Playground, my 33-day private Telegram experience filled with daily audios, happiness hacks, brain science, self-trust, play, silliness, and reconnection. We’re already at 45 incredible humans, with more joining every day!
And as if this season of expansion and visibility couldn’t get any sweeter, my CanvasRebel interview is officially live! I’m sharing more about my story, my work, the experiences that shaped me, and what it means to build a life and brand rooted in authenticity.

Season 3, Episode 46: From Shame to Love with Jessica Fern and David Cooley
2026/08/18
Welcome to Season THREE of Both Can Be True with Nona!! After an unexpected hiatus, I am BACK—and I truly cannot think of a better conversation to begin this new season.
This week, I’m joined by Jessica Fern and David Cooley, authors of Transforming the Shame Triangle: From Shame to Love Using Parts Work. And let me just say: when they reached out about coming onto the podcast, I absolutely geeked out. Jessica is also the author of Polysecure, a book I have loved, recommended, talked about, and returned to again and again, and together Jessica and David wrote Polywise. So yes, having them sitting across from me for this conversation was A MOMENT.
We talk about shame—not as something we need to get rid of or another part of ourselves we need to “fix,” but as something we can begin to understand differently. Jessica and David unpack the Shame Triangle, the different ways shame can show up in our relationships and within ourselves, and how parts work can help us move from shame toward greater compassion, connection, curiosity, and love.
This conversation is such a beautiful reminder that healing does not require us to reject the parts of ourselves we find inconvenient, messy, reactive, protective, or hard to understand. Sometimes the way through is actually learning to turn toward those parts with curiosity instead.
You can learn more about Jessica, her books, courses, and work at JessicaFern.com and find her on Instagram at @jessicafern411.
You can learn more about David and his work at Restorative Relationship Conversations and connect with him on Instagram at @rrconversations.
And while you’re here… COME PLAY WITH ME!!
🌈 THE PLAYGROUND 🌈
The Playground is my 33-day healing playground where we’re doing personal growth a little differently: with curiosity, play, nervous system care, laughter, self-trust, storytelling, brain science, and a whole lot less pressure to constantly be “working on ourselves.” You’ll get a daily 15–30 minute audio from me inside our private Telegram community as we explore boundaries, people-pleasing, perfectionism, intuition, relationships, confidence, identity, inner-child work, and what it actually looks like to become MORE YOU.
No homework. No gold stars. No perfect healing required. Just come as you are.

And if you’ve been wanting to learn more about yourself through Human Design or receive some intuitive guidance, I now have multiple Human Design readings—including different types of readings for different seasons, relationships, and needs—as well as Tarot + Oracle readings permanently available in the Both Can Be True shop.

44. You're Not Broken - and You're Never "done:" Demystifying Therapy and Healing
2026/05/19
Stop waiting to be healed. In this episode, Nona demystifies therapy and healing, and challenges the idea that there's some magical endpoint where everything clicks into place and you're finally fixed. Spoiler: that place doesn't exist and no one is broken, so fixing isn't necessary — and honestly, that's good news. Healing is ongoing, evolving, and deeply human.

43. Unraveling Well: Identity, Burnout & the Body's Way Home
2026/05/12
Both Can Be True with Nona | feat. Natasha Ramlall
What if burnout isn't the problem — it's the signal?
In this episode, Nona sits down with embodiment coach Natasha Ramlall for a conversation that goes beneath the surface of what high-achieving women are actually experiencing. We talk a lot about burnout, but rarely do we talk about what's underneath it: identity rupture, disembodiment, and the cost of building a life entirely in your head while your body quietly checks out.
Natasha brings over 25 years of experience in adult education and a deeply personal 19-year career pivot that became the foundation of her work as an Embodied Integration Coach. Her framework, Grounded Expansion, offers women a somatic — not just mental — path through major life transitions.
In this episode, we explore:
Why "positive thinking" fails when your nervous system doesn't feel safeWhat identity rupture actually looks like in high-achieving women's bodiesThe difference between a burnout you push through and one that's asking you to become someone newWhy the "disorientation phase" of a major life pivot isn't a breakdown — it's a doorwayHow to build your next chapter on somatic safety rather than sheer willpowerThis one is for the woman who has achieved so much and still feels like something is missing. The one who keeps doing the mindset work and wondering why she still feels so far from herself. Both things can be true: you can be brilliant and burned out. Capable and coming undone. And unraveling well — with support, with your body, with intention — might be exactly what's next.
Free Resource from Natasha: If this episode lands for you, Natasha is offering her Identity Rupture Safety Pulse — a free 20-minute guided resourcing practice designed to help you find a pocket of internal safety when your old identity is gone and the new one hasn't arrived yet. No positive thinking required. Just your body and your breath. Get the Safety Pulse here

42. Not Everyone's Cup of Tea
2026/04/14
In this episode, we're talking about the obsession with being liked — the anxiety that creeps in when someone might be mad at you, disappointed in you, or simply not your biggest fan. That fear has a sneaky way of flattening us: we go along to get along, we don't ruffle feathers, we shrink ourselves to fit spaces that were never really made for us.
Here's the truth: not everyone is for you. And you are not for everyone. And that? Is actually the point.
Let's talk about what it looks like to stop performing "nice" and start coming home to who you actually are.

41. The Dreaded Imposter Syndrome & Not Enoughness
2026/04/07
The voice that says "you don't belong here"? It's lying. This week we're talking imposter syndrome — and not in a surface-level, just-believe-in-yourself way. We're going underneath it.

40. Falling Back In Love with Yourself
2026/03/31
You weren't always this far from yourself. Somewhere between managing relationships, achieving your way through life, absorbing loss, and learning to make yourself smaller — you drifted.
In this episode, Nona gets personal and psychological about the real reasons we abandon ourselves, and what it actually looks like to find your way back. This isn't about bubble baths. This is about grief, curiosity, and the quiet, revolutionary choice to stay in relationship with yourself.

39. The Shame of Abundance: Breaking the Patriarchal Script Around Women and Wealth
2026/03/17
Both Can Be True returns with the radiant Stefanie Caponi — author of Guided Tarot; Guided Astrology & Tarot for Manifestation: Attract Your Dream Life Through Shadow Work, Visualization and Writing Love Letters to the Universe and the magic behind @moonvoidtarot — for one of the most honest, fiery, and soul-stirring conversations this podcast has ever held.
This one goes deep. Nona and Stefanie pull back the curtain on what it actually means to run a spiritual business when the world is on fire — and they don't stop there.
They wade straight into the patriarchal conditioning that has taught women to feel guilty for wanting wealth, to shrink instead of expand, and to compete with each other instead of rise together. They name the shame. They name the guilt. And then they light it on fire.
From the page-turning permission slips found in Money Loves Me by Farah Orths and We Should All Be Millionaires by Rachel Rodgers, to the very real fear that lives in the body when a woman dares to step fully into her power — this conversation is about what becomes possible when women with strong hearts and unshakeable integrity accumulate wealth and use it to change the world.
Because the narrative about what people do with money and power? Women like us are here to rewrite it.
This isn't about bypassing the hard stuff. It's about holding all of it — the grief, the guilt, the calling, and the coins — and choosing to become the truest, most aligned version of yourself anyway.
Both can be true. The world needs saving. And it needs you paid, powerful, and showing up fully.

38. The Inner Compass: When Coming Home to Yourself Means Finding Your Authenticity
2026/03/10
Before the conditioning. Before the shame. Before you learned to be someone else just to survive. There was a version of you — authentic, unguarded, whole — that knew exactly who they were.In this episode, I explore what it means to come home to that original self. I talk about the personas we've had to create, the attunement we missed, and why reconnecting to your authenticity isn't selfish — it's essential.Because here's the thing: you can't receive the love, attention, and affection you deserve until you're willing to give it to yourself first. We dive into the practice of radical self-devotion — what it means to say: "I love myself first. I love myself most. I love myself always" — and how that shifts everything. If you've ever felt like a stranger to yourself, this one's for you.Inner Compass Virtual Workshop is on April 12, 2026 from 11:30AM-2:00PM PST. It will be recorded, so even if you can't attend live, you can watch the replay.

37. Both Can Be True in a World That Demands a Side
2026/02/24
In this episode, I’m pulling back another layer.
Not the curated layer.
Not the professional layer.
Not the “I’ve already integrated this” layer.
The real one.
We are living in a time that feels increasingly dichotomous — black or white, right or wrong, with us or against us. Social media amplifies it. News cycles feed it. Cancel culture reinforces it. And slowly, almost imperceptibly, our nervous systems adapt to it.
Our survival brains go into overdrive.
When survival brain is driving, nuance disappears. Curiosity disappears. Authenticity starts to shrink. And before we know it, we’re self-censoring, picking sides we’re not fully aligned with, or staying quiet out of fear of criticism, judgment, or exile.
But as human beings, we were never meant to live in a rigid binary.
In this episode, I explore what it means to:
Stay rooted in your authenticity when the world demands allegiance.
Notice when your survival brain is hijacking your voice.
Hold complexity without collapsing into extremes.
Reclaim nuance, curiosity, and sovereignty in how much information you consume.
Practice “both can be true” as a nervous system regulation strategy — not just a philosophy.
This is a conversation about courage.About discernment.About protecting your energy and your voice.About learning to stay human in a world that profits off polarization.
You don’t have to pick a side to be powerful. You don’t have to abandon nuance to belong. You don’t have to silence yourself to stay safe.
Both can be true.
And maybe your authenticity lives in the gray.
SEASON 2: Both Can Be True: A New Era Begins
2026/02/17
Eyes Wide Open: Entering the Fire Horse Year
Season 2 of Both Can Be True opens on February 17th — the first day of the Year of the Fire Horse, a New Moon, and a Solar Eclipse.
A cosmic threshold. A beginning that feels anything but accidental.
In this intimate and expansive kickoff episode, Nona shares what’s been unfolding behind the scenes — personally, professionally, energetically — and how the quiet integration of the past season has shaped what’s emerging now.
The Year of the Fire Horse carries bold, catalytic, heart-forward energy. It asks us to move. To trust. To choose ourselves. To stop dimming and start living with intention. Fire Horse years don’t whisper — they ignite.
In this episode, Nona explores:
The collective energy of the Fire Horse year and what it invites us into
The tension between fear and expansion — and why both can be true
What it means to walk into this year with your eyes wide open and your heart ready to be filled
She also shares the deeper focus of her work this season — the sacred intersection of healing and intuition. Tarot. Oracle. Human Design.
Embodiment. Emotional regulation. Self-trust. Coming home to yourself.
This is an invitation to begin the year consciously. To move forward not from urgency — but from alignment. Not from proving — but from knowing. Not from burnout — but from becoming.
If you’ve been feeling the rumble beneath the surface…If you know something new is calling you forward…If you’re ready to live more honestly, intuitively, and expansively…
This episode is your threshold.
The Fire Horse is here. The eclipse is here. The portal is open.
Let’s step through it — together.
35. Dear Becoming Therapists...
2025/12/30
This final episode of 2025 is a love letter.
In Dear Becoming Therapists, I speak directly to the ones who are choosing this path—not because it is easy or tidy, but because something in them knows it matters. This episode is an opening… a threshold… and a soft beginning to the work that is becoming my book: Dear Becoming Therapists: A Love Letter to the Ones Who Will Carry the Legacy.
I share why this book has been living in my body and heart for so long, and why it feels essential in this moment—when the field of therapy is being asked to remember its humanity, its reverence, and its soul. I offer gentle teasers of what’s to come: conversations about self-of-the-therapist work, intuition in the therapy room, the sacredness of presence, nervous system care, grief and complexity, boundaries that honor the human behind the role, and the quiet truth that you are the most important tool in the room.
This episode is not about technique or perfection. It’s about becoming. About staying soft in a world that asks therapists to harden. About learning how to hold others without abandoning yourself. About honoring the lineage of this work while daring to do it differently.
As this season comes to a close, I also share that I’ll be taking a six-week pause—a spacious exhale—to tend to the writing, the listening, and the deeper work behind the scenes. Season Two of the podcast will return on February 10th, 2026, carrying forward these themes of presence, embodiment, intuition, and relational healing.
If you are a therapist-in-training, a seasoned clinician, or someone who feels the quiet call to hold sacred space for others—this episode is for you. You belong here. And the work you are becoming matters.
