EP 43: Hunting and Agriculture
2026/09/26
This week we have the opportunity to bring in a special guest who you may recognize from frequent listener e-mails, Devine!  As an avid and active outdoorsman, he may be one of, if not THE most educational guest we've had.  Conservation, tag allocation, and habitat as they relate to farming are a central topic.  Lot's of good stories and memories accompany.   Another update on Trevor's Bee hole, Andrew is flush with zucchini bread, and Captain Corporate announces his new ballot measure to help hunters.   Email: [email protected] Patreon: Degenerative Agriculture | Posts | Patreon
Episode 40 + 2
2026/09/12
This week on the Degenerative Agriculture podcast, the boys celebrate episode 40 a bit late with a game of Edward Forty-Hands and some truly disgusting onion-flavored shooters. The chaos continues as Trevor battles a yellowjacket-infested "Bee hole" with a farm-built powder cannon, and Andrew buys a mystery auction item after an unsuspecting bidding war with his own co-host. We also attempt to solve a local crime involving stolen DeWalt tools because, why not? Once the dust and booze settle, we get down to brass tacks on crop storage. We cover the gamble of storing grain, the nightmare of finding bugs in your wheat, and one host's costly lesson in holding beans too long. The crew also dives into the surprisingly complex science of potato storage, the art of avoiding a "squishy bottom”, and why you should never, ever make "dishwasher pickles." From farmyard brawls to auction feuds and drunken science, it's a classic episode: messy, honest, and just barely under control—like farming itself.
Ep 41: The Family Truckster, The Swiss Army Knife of Tax Write-Off Haulers
2026/08/29
Hot off the recorder we got a new episode for you. The Son of Saline Soil is back with a dog bowl dilemma, Larsons Plate has some bee news, The Garlic god has competition, and Captain Corporate doesn't disconnect his Spra Coupe battery.    Most Importantly, you the listeners pitched your ideas for the best family hauler for the farm, the one-vehicle-does-all. In the end, does Lee Iococca's master design take the top prize?
EP 40: Homestead Settling
2026/08/15
Episode 40 starts with a new Spra Coupe (you'll never guess who it doesn't belong to) and a rain delay from wheat harvest… and somehow ends up in 1890. What would 3/4 degenerates do with 160 free acres under the Homestead Act? Let’s just say our plans involve questionable crops, oxen, skunks, a two-seater outhouse, and one fertilizer source nobody saw coming. Oh, and somewhere along the way, french fries become a serious topic of debate.
Ep 39: Burning Tires Is Illegal?
2026/08/01
Has Captain Corporate finally bought a Spra Coupe?  Why does he hate Sour Cream?  Is it true he has a full yard maintenance crew?   The main topic of today is rural garbage disposal,  both for personal and farm use.   And fires, lots and lots of fires Questions: [email protected] Patreon: Degenerative Agriculture | Posts | Patreon
EP 38: FARM IS JUST A FANTASY
2026/07/18
Tonight could be the most exciting night of the year, leading up to harvest, we hold a fantasy draft for equipment if we had 1,500 acres and no budget.  Back stage trades? Fist fights? There's bound to be some early drama.   We also catch up on listener questions, berate neighbors for letting their fox loose on someone's chickens, and, most importantly, live auction results as were recording!!!!!   We apologize for the poor audio quality towards the end, the main recording equipment pooped out, and Lucas excelled at blowing out the back up audio mic.    Join our Patreon to support better equipment: Degenerative Agriculture | Posts | Patreon Email: [email protected]
EP 37: Conspiracy Theories? Or Conspiracy Facts?
2026/07/04
Happy 4th of July!!!   There's been plenty of time sat in a sprayer recently, so we decided to tackle some of the hard hitting, and maybe too wild conspiracy theories of agriculture. Crop mobs, fake birds, deer reading your tractor screens?    Also, say hello to our new sponsor, Hardhide whiskey.  They were more than accommodating to us, and sent us two different flavors to sample, how does that pan out over the episode? Stay tuned to find out.   Email: [email protected] Patreon: Degenerative Agriculture | Posts | Patreon   Sponsors: The Beehive: BEEHIVE of REYNOLDS | Reynolds ND | Facebook Hardhide Whiskey: Home - Hardhide Whiskeys
EP 36: Roosters, Roundup, and Regrets.
2026/06/20
We've got another weather break in, just in time to grab a few beverages, get up to date on events, and complain about the weather.   Rooster chaos, bees change hands in a truck stop lot, and Trevor drinks Roundup by accident—then accidentally buys a Spra Coupe. Wind's howling, trees are snapping, and we're arguing shelterbelts versus cover crops while eating durian wafers.  Email: [email protected] Patreon: Degenerative Agriculture | Your home for inebriated agriculture! | Patreon
EP 35:
2026/06/06
Welcome back You Son Of A Mitch Rock Supply, who is stepping in for both The Son of Saline Soil and the Garlic Guardian.    The main discussion of the day revolves around growing up in town vs the country.    Patreon:https://www.patreon.com/c/DegenerativeAgriculture/posts Email: [email protected]
EP 34: Dust Storm Delays In The Valley
2026/05/23
We got a "nice" pause in our planting schedules, due to ridiculous winds blowing soil all over the dang place.  So, as we do, got a break and went over to the watering hole and put together an episode.   We go through a few listener questions, and have a fun game of Would You Rather?   email: [email protected] Patreon: Degenerative Agriculture | Your home for inebriated agriculture! | Patreon
EP 33: We Need To Get In The Field
2026/05/09
You give us your opinion, but this "short" episode proves the weather needs to turn so we can get in the fields.  We're spending too much on auction purchases, losing money selling at auction, going on vacations, and getting bored at our desks.   We get a few listener questions in as well, and you can feel the steam rolling from our ears through your speakers while we figure out how to math.   Please leave reviews if you like our show, and email any questions you have for us.  Pay attention to our social media for giveaways, they happen pretty frequently.   And, buy a shirt, it might go to the Spra-Coupe fund. EP 32: Auction Sales - Option, or Obsession
2026/04/25
As you all know, we're suckers for a good, or bad, auction sale.  Are there different ways to approach live auctions vs online?  Is one better than the other? Is it acceptable to stare down the fella bidding against you and sensually lick your lips in an attempt to get them to back down?   We'll talk all sorts of theories and a bit of etiquette.  In fact, Captain Corporate gives a live demo during the show on online auction practices.  The Garlic Guardian tells a harrowing tale about being harassed by the Smokies on his most recent trip to pick up auction winnings.   The Son of Saline Soil is gone this week, so don't worry about having to count the curse words.   Email questions and comments: [email protected] Patreon, for bonus content and outtakes: Degenerative Agriculture | Your home for inebriated agriculture! | Patreon
EP 31: SPRING FEVER!!!!!
2026/04/11
April is here, and it's time to say goodbye to winter, and hello to planting season, or so we thought, as we've gotten over an inch of moisture in the last week.  We decided we should share what we are all doing for spring preparation, trying to control the urge to hit the field far too early.     Christopher is back from his trip to Greenwich, England, and fills us in on his selfless journey to save Daylight Savings.  And of course, auction updates.   E-mail: [email protected] Patreon: Degenerative Agriculture | Your home for inebriated agriculture! | Patreon
EP 30: Misappropriation Of Funds
2026/03/28
It's everyone's favorite time of year, pay the tax man.  Can you avoid it? Do farmers really not pay any taxes (a common accusation)?  Where should our tax dollars be allocated?   We've got a list of things that could potentially written off, if you word it the right way.  Is it possible in the present day to rewrite the tax system to work for the people?  Who knows, but we try and solve that issue by supporting the local barley farmers. *****New episode exclusive, The Son of Saline Soil has been censored by 34%!!!!!*****   E-mail: [email protected] Patreon: Degenerative Agriculture | Your home for inebriated agriculture! | Patreon
Ep 29: Subsidies 2
2026/03/14
Given current events, we decided it was time to revisit the topic of subsidies, from a different angle, this time more-so from "the systems" side. Have subsides stifled innovation and farmer's choice?  Can "the system" be changed in it's current form to help new and smaller farmers more, if they want help? **********Prepare for a pretty epic Son of Saline Soil rant!!!!!!!************   The Garlic god of Grand Forks County is back from Italy and the olympics, it's quite an update, considering he went for a garlic growers conference, and missed the dates by over a month.   Email, questions, concerns: [email protected] Patreon: Degenerative Agriculture | Your home for inebriated agriculture! | Patreon
