About Episode: The 1979 Attack and Conviction Nature of the Crime: On September 30, 1979, D'Aiello—who was nine months pregnant at the time—was savagely beaten with a blunt object in her home while her husband, Marine Corporal Kevin Green, was out. Injuries and Loss: The attack left D'Aiello in a coma with severe brain damage, causing her to lose her unborn daughter.
