Description

The Truth Exchange is weekly podcast that engages modern issues with a Christ-centered mindset. Join our hosts Dr. Kenneth Bruce and Harper Whitman each Monday as we release a brand-new episode. Our mission is to ensure that we as Christians cut through cultural confusion with God’s Word. We live in a World that has replaced the truth of God for the lies of this age. We see it every day at work, at the ball field, the grocery store or on any type of social media platform. To the point that many people don’t even recognize God’s truth. So, join us every week as we exchange the lies of this age for God’s truth.

Can the Man on the Island be Saved
2026/09/28
In today's podcast we’re taking on a question that has challenged believers for generations: What happens to the person who never hears the gospel? At first, it sounds like a question about a man on a distant island—but beneath it lies something much deeper: Is God fair? Is He good? Does He truly desire people to be saved? Through Romans 1:18–21, Acts 17:26–27, and John 14:6, we’ll explore what Scripture says about God’s revelation, human responsibility, and why salvation is found in Christ alone. We’ll also discover that the “island question” is not merely a theological puzzle—it is a call to trust the character of God and to carry the gospel wherever He sends us. In this episode: Romans 1:18–21, Acts 17:26–27, John 14:6, 1 Timothy 2:4.
EP 69 Roman Catholicism Part 2
2026/09/21
Today we finish our conversation on Roman Catholicism.  What do Roman Catholics believe and how does that differ from what Protestant Christians believe. And are those differences mainly about history, practice, or the heart of the gospel itself? We explore the questions at the center of this centuries-old conversation: What is the final authority for Christian faith—Scripture alone, or Scripture together with sacred tradition and the teaching authority of the Church? How should we understand baptism, the sacraments, justification, confession, and the role of works? And what do Christians mean when they say that Christ is the one mediator and that His work on the cross is sufficient? In this episode: John 14:6, Romans 3:23, 1 Peter 3:21, Matthew 16:18, Colossians 2:8

EP 67 The Unforgivable Sin
2026/09/07
Today we’re stepping into one of the most sobering—and often misunderstood—warnings Jesus ever gave: the warning about the unforgivable sin. If you’ve ever wondered whether you’ve gone too far, sinned too deeply, or somehow crossed a line God will not forgive, this episode is for you.  We’ll look closely at Jesus’ words in Matthew 12:31–32, the moment that prompted them, and the difference between a fearful heart that longs for mercy and a hardened heart that rejects the Holy Spirit’s witness about Christ. In this episode: Jude 3, 1 Peter 3, Ephesians 6:10-17, Matthew 4:18-20, 1 Timothy 3:7, Philippians 2, 1 Corinthians 11:1.
EP 66 Discipleship
2026/08/31
Today, we’re talking about one of the most simple—and most life-changing—invitations Jesus ever gave: “Follow Me.” In Matthew 4, Jesus walks along the Sea of Galilee and calls ordinary fishermen into an extraordinary journey. He doesn’t begin with a complicated explanation or a long list of requirements. He simply says, “Follow Me.” That invitation is still at the heart of the Christian life. Discipleship is more than admiring Jesus, agreeing with His teachings, or believing from a distance. It is the joyful, costly, lifelong journey of walking with Him, learning from Him, and becoming more like Him. So in this episode, we’ll explore what it really means to follow Jesus—how His call changes our priorities, reshapes our identity, and leads us into a life of surrender, obedience, community, and mission. In this episode: Jude 3, 1 Peter 3, Ephesians 6:10-17, Matthew 4:18-20, 1 Timothy 3:7, 1 Corinthians 11:1.
EP 65 Human Trafficking Part 2 Alexa James
2026/08/24
Join us today as we begin part 2 of our series on Human Trafficking with Alexa James. This conversation is difficult, necessary, and deeply personal: the fight to protect children from exploitation and restore hope after trauma. Our guest is Alexa James, whose story and calling led her to the work of Blanket Fort Hope, a ministry focused on care, healing, and restoration for children who have been impacted by trafficking and exploitation. We continue our talk about why trust is so often weaponized against vulnerable children, why silence can be a survival response, and what it takes to create a safe place where restoration can begin. We’ll also hear about Blanket Fort Hope’s Restoration Home, the needs they are working to meet, and the practical ways each of us can help bring safety, dignity, and hope to children who deserve to be seen, protected, and loved.
EP 64 Human Trafficking Part 1

In today's podcast we begin a two-part series on Human Trafficking. EP 63 Progressive Sanctification
2026/08/10
Welcome back to the podcast. In today’s episode, we’re talking about one of the most important—and often most misunderstood—parts of the Christian life: progressive sanctification. What does it mean to grow in holiness without pretending we can change ourselves? How do we hold together our responsibility to obey and God’s promise to work in us? Philippians 2:12–13 gives us the tension and the hope: “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you.” So today, we’re going to explore how the Spirit patiently shapes believers into the likeness of Christ, not overnight, but through a lifelong journey of grace. In this episode: Philippians 2:12-13, James 2:17, Matthew 12:34, Philippians 1:6, Philippians 3:12-14.
EP 62 Ministry on Mission
2026/08/03
Welcome to today’s episode where we are exploring what it means to live the call of Christ beyond the walls of the church and into the everyday places God has already sent us. Our conversation is rooted in Jesus’ Great Commission from Matthew 28:18–20, where He tells His followers, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” It also echoes His words in Luke 10:2–3: “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few… Now go.” Today, we’re asking a simple but powerful question: What does it look like for ordinary believers to answer God’s call with the same readiness Isaiah showed when he said, “Here am I. Send me!” In this episode: Matthew 28:18-20, Isaiah 6:8, Acts 1:8, Luke 8L1-3, Luke 10:2-3.

EP 61 How to Praise God
2026/06/29
Today, we’re talking about praise—not the kind of praise that only shows up when life is easy, but the kind that rises because God is good. Praise is not something we do because everything around us is perfect. Praise is something we choose because the character of God never changes. Psalm 34 gives us a powerful picture of this. David wrote, “I will bless the Lord at all times,” while he was living through one of the most difficult seasons of his journey. His praise did not come from comfort—it came from conviction. In this episode, we’re going to look at why we praise God, how we praise Him, and what happens when praise becomes more than a song—it becomes a decision, a weapon, and a way of life. Whether you’re on the mountaintop today or walking through a valley, this conversation is a reminder that praise can transform your heart, your home, and your walk with Christ. In this episode: Psalm 34:1, Psalm 145:7, Colossians 3, Romans 12:1, Job 1 - 2.
EP 60 Blueprints of a Healthy Church
2026/06/22
Today, we’re opening the Bible to Acts 2:42–47 and asking a question every church—and every believer—needs to wrestle with: what does a truly healthy church look like? In a world where church health is often measured by attendance, programs, buildings, budgets, or online reach, the early church gives us a different picture. Their strength was not built on performance or popularity. It was built on devotion—to the Word of God, genuine fellowship, prayer, sacrificial love, joyful worship, and a mission to see lives changed by the gospel. So in this episode, we’re going to walk through the marks of a healthy church and consider what they reveal about the kind of church God blesses, strengthens, and uses for His glory.
