Let’s get into it. ⸻ SEGMENT 4 — “THE COST OF THE JOURNEY” Every journey God calls a man into requires sacrifice. Abraham had to leave his homeland. Moses had to face Pharaoh. Joshua had to lead when others were afraid. David had to confront giants. Nehemiah had to rebuild what others walked past. You will never step into God’s promise without stepping out of your comfort zone. Luke 9:23 “If anyone wants to follow Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” The journey is costly — but so is staying the same. ⸻ SEGMENT 5 — “THE BROTHERHOOD YOU NEED” No man walks into a new season alone. Even Jesus had 12 men around Him. If the Son of God wouldn’t walk alone — why should we? This year, you need: • Brothers who sharpen you • Brothers who pray with you • Brothers who call you out • Brothers who pick you up • Brothers who walk beside you Proverbs 27:17 “Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Find men who don’t just hang out with you — but lift you higher. The right brotherhood will transform your journey faster than any resolution. ⸻ SEGMENT 6 — “YOUR NEXT STEP” A new year becomes a new journey when a man takes a new step. Here are 3 steps for every man listening: 1. Rededicate the year to God. Not in theory. In prayer, in devotion, in obedience. 2. Choose one area to master, not ten to juggle. Men grow through focus, not chaos. 3. Commit to community. And He sure isn’t letting you walk into this new year without a purpose. Today, we’re talking transformation, realignment, and anchoring your walk in God’s Word so you can step boldly into the man God created you to be. Let’s get into it. ⸻ SEGMENT 1 — “THE RESET MEN NEED” Every man listening right now carries two things: 1. A past he cannot change. 2. A future God is inviting him to build. The world calls it “New Year, New Me.” But God calls it something deeper: “Behold, I am doing a new thing…” — Isaiah 43:19 Notice something — God didn’t say you do a new thing. He said HE is doing it. A new journey doesn’t start with effort. It starts with surrender. A man can do 100 things to try to “fix” himself, but only one thing truly transforms him: Coming back to the feet of Jesus and saying, ‘Lord, lead my year.’ This is the reset men need — not a gym membership, not a motivational quote, not a self-help plan… But a spiritual recalibration. ⸻ SEGMENT 2 — “LEAVE WHAT GOD NEVER TOLD YOU TO CARRY” Some of you are stepping into a new year trying to drag old chains behind you. Chains of shame. Chains of fear. Chains of failure. Chains of hidden sin. Chains of disappointment. But a new journey requires new weight, and not everything deserves to go with you. Hebrews 12:1 “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles…” Brothers — you do not run a race carrying bricks. Some of you need to hear this: Stop dragging last year’s burdens into this year’s calling. God is saying: “Drop the weight. Walk free. Step forward.” Leaving behind what God didn’t give you isn’t weakness. It’s obedience. ⸻ SEGMENT 3 — “THE JOURNEY A MAN WAS BUILT FOR” Men are wired for mission. We’re built for purpose, challenge, and assignment. The problem? Too many men spend their whole lives wandering, not walking. And wandering happens when a man loses his why. Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Your new year needs more than goals. It needs vision. A man with God-given vision becomes: • Harder to tempt • Harder to distract • Harder to break • Harder to derail Because vision gives you a spiritual compass. When a man knows his direction in God, he stops living by emotion and starts living by mission. So ask yourself: “Lord, what are You calling me to build, develop, and pursue this year?” Not “what do I want to do?” But “What do YOU want to do through me?” That’s where the journey begins. ⸻ THE MANLY CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK Before we close, here’s your challenge: Write down three things you’re leaving behind and three things you’re stepping into. Isaiah 40:31 “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” ———— Opening Thoughts Men, life can be brutal. The world puts weight on our shoulders—responsibility for our families, pressure at work, the fight against temptation, and the battle against discouragement. And if we’re honest, sometimes we feel like our strength is running out. But Isaiah 40:31 is God’s reminder to men like us: your strength doesn’t come from your own power—it comes from waiting on Him. ———— Talking points: Section 1: Waiting on the Lord Waiting doesn’t mean sitting around doing nothing. It’s an active posture of trust. It means standing firm when the world says give up. It means looking up when your flesh wants to look down. It’s saying, “God, I can’t carry this load on my own, but I believe You can.” For men, that’s hard. We’re wired to fix things, to push through. But God says real strength comes when we humble ourselves and let Him be the source. Section 2: Renewed Strength God promises renewal. Think about that—new strength, not recycled, not patched-up. Fresh strength. Strength for your marriage, strength for fatherhood, strength to fight temptation, strength to lead when others fall behind. When you lean into Him, He equips you for the battle. You don’t just get by—you get renewed. Section 3: Eagles’ Wings Why does God say “wings like eagles”? Because eagles soar where storms rage. They don’t hide from the wind—they use the wind to rise higher. Men of faith don’t avoid trials—we rise above them through the power of God. When you face storms—temptation, betrayal, exhaustion, loss—you don’t flap harder in your own strength. You spread your wings of faith and let God lift you above it. That’s what sets godly men apart. Section 4: Running Without Weariness Men, this life is not a sprint—it’s a marathon. You’re going to run into seasons where you feel like you can’t keep going. But the Word promises: if you wait on the Lord, you will run and not grow weary. You will walk and not faint. That’s not your grit—that’s God’s grace. ———- Challenge to the Men So here’s the challenge: Where are you running on empty today? What battle has left you worn down? Bring it before the Lord. Stop trying to be strong in your own flesh. Wait on Him. Trust Him. Spread your wings and let Him carry you. ———— Pray us out. But by a Shepherd who knows the terrain—your inner life, your outer battles, and your blind spots. You don’t need to be everything. Let all that you do be done in love.” — 1 Corinthians 16:13–14 If there was ever a verse that defines what it means to be a man of God—it’s this one. ⸻ “Stand Firm in the Faith” – Hold the Line “Stand firm.” This isn’t a passive stance—it’s a defensive posture in a spiritual war. The world is shifting. Culture is loud. Temptation is aggressive. But Paul says: Don’t fold. Don’t flinch. Don’t compromise. This means you don’t bend to what’s popular—you stand on what’s eternal. You don’t water down the Word to fit in—you live it out boldly. When everyone else is silent, you speak truth. When it gets costly to follow Jesus, you still follow. You stand.
