Episode 34 – How to make fun Blood Angels lists that are lore accurate and don’t suck.
2026/10/14
On today’s cast we talk about the Blood Angels in their current state on the table top. With a look at some of their most iconic units and how good (or bad) they are on the table top. Basically Death Company: good. The Baal predator: less so. Episode 33 – The Blood Angels 8th to 11th edition, the “good” old days of spending 8+ command points a turn.
2026/09/30
On today’s episode we continue to explore the history of the Blood Angels on the tabletop. Starting in 8th edition with the advent of Stratagems and Command Points. Things that became quite critical for the Blood Angels’ Captains with thunder-hammers and jump packs. After the wildness that was 8th we move into 9th edition where they settle back into a mono faction again seeing a lot of success thanks to their new primaris models. After that came the great times of 10th edition where the dense terrain let them play like the melee smash army they want to play as. We then close out with our ideas for 11th edition and the army. What it needs and what we hope it gets. Episode 32 – The Blood Angels 2nd edition to 7th edition, turns out invincible murder dreadnaughts are good.
2026/09/16
On today’s episode we explore the history of the Blood Angels on the tabletop. Starting with their original inception in 2nd edition (which is really the 1st edition). We then enjoy their 3rd edition double codex (where the second one had to be released to fix the errors of the first). But then move on to their greatest moments, the 4th edition white dwarf and the massively OP 5th edition codex. We then conclude on them falling to irrelevance in the 6th and 7th editions, due to just not being good enough allies (selfish Blood Angles). Episode 31 - Can lore accurate Chaos lists be competitive? Yes of course they can!
2026/09/02
On today's episode we talk about a few lore accurate lists for chaos that have both flavor, and wont get you just stomped if you take them to a GT. With Night Lords, Daemon Engines, Red Corsairs, and Black Legion. We also talk about who we think are the most lore necessary elements of each chaos army (why would you ever play T-sons without Ahriman after all). Episode 30 - Chaos Space Marines in 8th, 9th and 10th editions.
2026/08/19
On today’s episode we talk more about chaos through the ages with a continuation into 8th, 9th, and 10th editions of the game. With the additions of the Death Guard, Thousand Sons, World Eaters, and now Emperor’s children to the game. Talking about the crazy Chaos soup of 8th edition, and the still crazy but less so combos of 9th. Then how they stacked up as solo factions as GW removed soup from the game. Episode 29 - Chaos Space Marines and why we all love them pt 1. Codex 3.5 and more.
2026/08/05
On today’s episode we start talking about the bad guys of 40K that everyone actually loves Chaos Space Marines. Their initial journey as the original antagonists of 40K but then their real glow up with Chaos 3.5 and how that exploded them into the scene. Was it the greatest codex every written? Probably yes. From there we dive more deeply into some fun stories around chaos armies and lists from 3rd  through 7th editions and laugh at some lets call them rules “oversights.” Patreon Merchandise Discord Link: Our Website Retro Recall Brad Channel Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Episode 28 - Wait people also hate eldar? How come? pt2
2026/07/22
On today’s episode we go into the nightmare Eldar editions. Starting of course with Ynnari and the hilarious amount of attempts by GW to fix that mess, only to just throw the whole thing in the dumpster in the end. Then the great Harlequin fiasco of 9th edition, the only time anyone ever saw void weavers. And of course the greatest of them all the launch of 10th edition, and likely the most over powered army in the history of 40k. Episode 27 - Wait people also hate eldar? How come? pt1
2026/07/08
On today’s episode we jump into the Eldar over the editions. Opening with their addition to the game in 2nd and then the growth of their dominance from there. With their standard combination of busted and unfair core rules. As well as their always fun ways to play the game just differently from everyone else. Yay space elves! Episode 26 - Orks pt 2, shooty orks can get a little OP at times
2026/06/24
On today’s episode we continue talking about the greatest of all the factions in the game of 40K the Orks! With a trip down memory lane into the glory that was 8th edition orks. Dakka Dakka Dakka, shock attack guns, and buggies. We then move onto 9th edition where buggies might have gotten a little OP during (it was still fun though) and of course close out on 10th edition with another lesson learned on Dakka, but more importantly the super fun of the army then. Episode 25 - Are the Orks the most fun army in 40k?
2026/06/10
On today’s episode we decide to talk about our greatest love in the game the orks. Starting from their beginnings from the 80’s, before Alan was alive, and when Brad was in high school (he is very old). And then run through the eras and how even from the on-set they were more fun that other armies. With wild and stupid rules that were fun (and sometimes oppressive) but always memorable. Episode 24 - Why does everyone hate Tau pt2, 8th edition did not help Tau's cause.
2026/05/27
On today’s episode we finish up on the Tau, with a focus on their reign of terror in 8th edition. Shield drones were just dumb. How they worked and why the player base still hates them to this day. From there we jump into a big shift to 9th edition where they find a much more traditional way to be a huge pain in everyone’s a**. We then close out with 10th edition, where Tau have been quite average (in a good way) with a much better variety of play styles (while enjoying great success without being oppressive). Episode 23 - Why does everyone hate Tau pt1, its a long story
2026/05/13
On today’s episode we start our coverage of the most controversial faction: the TAU! Their initial launch into the game. And the immediate controversies that launched against them. How the line evolves from 3rd to 4th and more (with some white dwarfs and forgeworld). From there we go into the way they played on the table top and how that created even more enemies for the Tau Players. We then close out with the 7th edition allies that really pushed the limits on Tau. Episode 22 - Is corporate 40k bad for the game?
2026/04/29
On today’s episode we start by talking about Adepticon and then go way off the rails into something much more interesting. We jump into a real discussion about how the uniformity of 40k is making the game more dull. We discuss how much better the game is with unbalanced boards, weird weapons, and silly mechanics. And how it actually makes the game more tactical and more interesting, as opposed to a scripted thing it is turning into now. Episode 21 - The History Adepticon pt 1 - The beginnings of Adepticon
2026/04/15
On today’s episode we decided to switch and talk about Adepticon. After all we had just been there and it was epic and fun. On this episode we go back to the original Adepticons starting in 2003 and going through the mid teens. Focusing on the tournament’s growth and expansion. And how they added to and expanded upon their format in that time. Episode 20 - The History of the Grey Knights on the tabletop
2026/04/01
On today’s episode we pivot over to a new style and decide to talk about the Grey Knights over the ages. From their original appearance in rogue trader (as terminator models only) through 2nd edition expansion (of more terminator models). Then we cover one of the move influential codexes Daemonhunters in 3rd edition where they got their first expansion (along with GW trying out some new rules). Then we cover their first codex in 5th edition, which was busted AF. From there we dive into how the Grey Knights have evolved over the years. With some very good, and less good play styles (8th and 9th were very up and down). Along with how we think they should be adjusted to play more in line with their lore.
