I Want You To Know - Dyani Dominguez
2026/10/12
I think muse has become a dirty word, there’s something objectifying about it. I can say inspiration, but that word isn’t quite accurate. My next guest feels and thinks artistically. When I met her she was a model/actor. But, I could feel she was searching for more. She’s a film photographer, my silently savvy friend, I Want You To Know Dyani Dominguez
I Want You To Know - Anthony Florez
2026/10/06
This week on I Want You To Know I talk to writer, specifically, tv writer, Anthony Florez. He’s written for Power Book 4, Dark Winds, and Marshalls. Anthony brought some blues rock, and other rockers. I interview him about his work as a writer, and how he brings his unique life experience into his writing. From his time in the military, to being a native person—we unpack how he informs his work with his personal experience. I Want You To Know Anthony Florez
I Want You To Know - Theophobia
2026/09/29
Truly Fantastic stuff. My next guests recently created an album of ambitious, elaborate, dramatic, and at times earnest and pitch perfect pop—album. You can hear influences from pure musical and cinema influenced pieces, when I first heard these songs I wondered how they did it. I think after you hear these songs—you’ll wonder too. I Want You To Know Theophobia
I Want You To Know - Aliza Penelope Rood
2026/09/22
This is a tricky one. At first, I was going to work in the motif of our connection, and write and perform a poem in this space. No. Then I thought I would honor our relationship motif — delivering something subliminally funny, deeply submerged in inside references and secret handshakes. Maybe not. My next guest made me particularly anxious (and want to rise to the occasion) when she made a point to say "I want to hear this monologue" (referring to the opening introduction, where I honor my guest). What you're hearing now. But I think I found the hook — the theme and motif of our connection is rooted in communication. Our relationship started with a miscommunication, and overcompensating or not, we decided going forward the connection will be firmly rooted in improving our communication. We have attempted and succeeded in every mode of communication. I'm a storyteller, musician, clairvoyant, knucklehead... She's my favorite writer, a craniosacral practitioner, psychic, astrologer... Let's hear about a profound and ethereal connection. I Want You To Know Aliza Penelope Rood.
I Want You To Know - Heather Marie Ellison aka Uni (and her album "My Favorite Letter Is U")
2026/09/14
We all have songs and albums that mean something to us. Records that serve as a soundtrack to a time, songs that propel you back to a moment, and most importantly—a feeling. As an artist; it’s a special feat. A privilege, and a promise that you’ll be engraved in a memory. It’s especially profound when yourself, or a peer, pulls off this performance. My next guest—did this. She created a record that serves and stands-- as a soundtrack to a time. A batch of songs that feel staggeringly personal, contrasted with cutesy and ethereal, and melancholy and magical—often all at the same time. This record is 20 years old now. I wanted to learn more about this mysterious, sad and sweet record. I Want You To Know Heather Marie Ellison aka Uni, and her record "My Favorite Letter Is U"
I Want You To Know - Madelaine Auble
2026/09/07
My next guest made some waves the last time she was on, You also heaped her with praise. Since she was on last—she wrote a provocative and vital article called Pimp and Hoe Culture and the Art of Accessorizing Your Escape Recently, she was corresponding with me while in Vegas, chasing down the ingredients for alchemy, and keeping me up to date at the Keefe D trial. Lets hear all about it, I Want You To Know Madelaine Auble of Window Dressing
I Want You To Know - Katy Atchison
2026/08/31
Replay of my talk with my friend Katy.
I Want You To Know - Sergio Santana
2026/08/24
My next is a comedian. He is constantly refining his voice, while also teaching others to hone their own. He’s less interested in the destination, and more interested in the trip. I thought it would be interesting to take a look at what comedy is like on the clue collar real life circuit, A place outside of vertical videos, and online bits. He’s down on the frontlines…. I Want You To Know Sergio Santana
I Want You To Know - Dieter Dixon
2026/08/17
An authentic and real writer lives an isolated lifestyle, not due to exile or self exile. A writer can even be isolated in a crowd, watching the wave of people crash into one another. Writer’s find themselves in precarious situations, dangerous scenarios. A writer must be fearless, engaging and initiating inciting incidents, or sculpting seemingly meaningiless moments into drama, insight, dreams, or analogy. Writer’s are constantly searching for meaning, endlessly curious, and compassion and empathy are foundational tools. My next guest, quietly lives by these credos, a postcard of a man— I Want You To Know Dieter Dixon
I Want You To Know - Summer Mixtape 2026
2026/08/10
Summer updates, summer talk, a summer mixtape.
I Want You To Know - Knox Bronson
2026/08/04
My next guest is a true artist, operating from his heart. In between his design work, acting in films, his in depth podcast Frisco: The Secret History, and his stunning iPhone photography-- he manages to create heartfelt, witty, naughty, and earnest songs. I Want You to Know Knox Bronson
REMIX RERUN - I Want You To Know - Puckett Electric
2026/08/03
I’m thinking on Monday’s I’m going to play a remix rerun archive episode, and then continue the new episodes on Tuesdays (with a replay on Saturday). Folks really loved when I was gone (hmm) you guys wrote nice notes about archival episodes that weren’t available on the usual streaming platforms. That being said we are going to revisit an episode I did with Puckett Electric last year, it was a great talk about his eclectic taste and his stature as a bit of an outsider artist. Also, he’s the newest edition to the Pirate Cat Radio family. He has a show focused on unsung artists and outsider artists here on the station on Sundays from 7-8pm PST . So tune into that…Sundays 7-8pm KPCR.oRG
I Want You To Know - Josh Pollock
2026/07/27
My next guest is a musician, actor, teacher, and a thoughtful and electric personality. He’s also a faithful, and generous collaborator. Every interaction leaves you a little enlightened, a little entertained, and completely encouraged. He always has some sort of artistic endeavor brewing, and it’s always interesting—it could be an unconventional approach to covers (for a cover record), a play, or just sitting in with some folks—it’s always interesting. I hope you enjoy this conversation. I Want You To Know Josh Pollock.
I Want You To Know - Madelaine Auble (Window Dressing)
2026/07/20
My next guest bridges the gaps between pop culture, and subversive thought, beauty with transgressive art, and recalibrating feminism, and reformatting your perspective—all done with something that is part audio essay, part performance art, and even education. I Want You To Know Madeline Auble and her show Window Dressing
I Want You To Know - Benedict Coulter

One of my favorite things in the world--is the movie trailer. Now, I say "thing" because I’m unsure if it's a stand alone work of art, or if it’s a commercial. In contemporary culture, it’s quite clear when someone is selling something to you. It’s quite clear if this thing is art or motivated by commerce. But, enter the movie trailer—yes, it’s a commercial to the movie. But, its not so much a commercial or call to action (go see this here), often its tempting it’s audience, seducing its audience. You ever see a trailer and you think “nope” the way a you’d say “nope” to a person in a bar, with a bad pick up line? You watch them come and go. A trailer is a bit like that. When you’re being seduced, or enticed—you don’t know, but you know you want to go. Whether It’s stand alone trailer, with no footage from the movie, or the voice over telling you the story--persuading you to see the thing unfold, or the cryptic tonal piece—leaving you wondering and longing to see if the film can fulfill the trailer's sensual promise. The movie trailer comes in many forms. Fortunately, for me, I have a guest who cut some of the most important movie trailers from the last 40 years. And, we are going to talk about the anatomy, the ideology, and execution of the movie trailer. I Want You To Know - Benedict Coulter
