Kitchen Witchery: Cooking with Intention & Everyday Spells
2026/10/12
This week, we're heading into the kitchen to explore kitchen witchery, the art of weaving intention, energy, and everyday magic into the food we prepare.
We'll explore the history of hearth magic, the folklore of kitchen witch dolls, and how ordinary ingredients can become tools for protection, healing, love, and prosperity. From magical herb correspondences and stirring intentions into your morning coffee to enchanting your kitchen tools, creating your own kitchen witch's grimoire, and preparing a healing stew, this episode is full of practical ways to bring witchcraft into your daily routine.
Whether you're an experienced witch or just beginning your practice, kitchen witchery is a reminder that magic doesn't have to be elaborate or time-consuming. Sometimes it's as simple as making dinner with a little extra intention.
Come sit beneath the willow, and let's make a little magic in the kitchen.

Fae and Folkore: House fae; brownies, boggarts, and household spirits
2026/09/28
What if the strange noises in your house aren’t just the pipes?
In this first episode of Fae and Folklore, we’re exploring the centuries-old folklore of house fae and household spirits: the supernatural beings believed to live alongside humans, protect our homes, finish forgotten chores, care for animals and children, and occasionally cause absolute chaos when offended.
We’ll meet Scottish brownies and boggarts, the Irish Bean-Tighe and Clurichaun, Welsh Bwbachs, German Kobolds, Scandinavian Nisse, and the Slavic Domovoi. Along the way, we’ll look at where beliefs in domestic spirits may have come from, how a house supposedly acquires one, traditional offerings and taboos, and the strange similarities between household faerie folklore across different cultures.
And beneath all of it is one question: were house spirits simply stories created to personify the heart of the home—or was something actually finishing those chores in the middle of the night?

Grimoire of the Gods: Hecate; Goddess of Witchcraft, Crossroads & the Dark
2026/09/21
Hecate has always made me a little nervous.
As the goddess of witchcraft, crossroads, ghosts, magic, and the spaces between worlds, she’s one of the most powerful and complex figures in Greek mythology — and easily the most requested deity we’ve ever covered in Grimoire of the Gods.
This week, we’re exploring Hecate’s ancient origins, her role in the myths of Persephone and Medea, her sacred symbols and correspondences, and how she became so deeply connected with witchcraft, protection, boundaries, divination, death magic, and shadow work.
We’ll also talk about what working with Hecate can look like today, from devotional service and lunar magic to protection and banishing, before bringing it all into practice with Hecate-inspired shadow work and a spell for protecting the threshold of your home.
And somewhere along the way, I may have gone from being slightly intimidated by Hecate to wondering if maybe I should be working with her after all.
Come sit beneath the willow as we meet Hecate — goddess of witchcraft, crossroads, and the dark.

Vine Magic: Resilience, Folklore, & the Celtic Tree Calendar
2026/09/14
We’re continuing our journey through the Celtic Tree Calendar with Vine: a tangled, thorny, fruit-bearing symbol of resilience, transformation, abundance, and finding your way forward even when the path isn’t exactly straight.
In this episode, we’re untangling what “Vine” actually means within the Ogham alphabet, why both grapevine and blackberry bramble have become associated with Muin, and the folklore surrounding these plants.
Then, in Living the Spell, we’ll bring Vine season into our own practice through harvest-focused shadow work, a simple binding spell for protection and boundaries, and affirmations for resilience, abundance, balance, and growth.
Because your path doesn’t have to be straight to mean you’re still growing.

Signs and Stars: Virgo's Personality, Magic, and Seasonal Energy
2026/09/07
In this episode of Signs & Stars, we’re exploring Virgo personality, traits, mythology, astrology, and magic to understand the sixth sign of the zodiac and the energy of Virgo season.
We’ll explore Virgo’s strengths and weaknesses, compatibility, Mercury rulership, mutable earth energy, and the analytical, nurturing, detail-oriented personality this zodiac sign is known for. Then we’ll look to the stars themselves, trace Virgo through mythology and folklore, and bring Virgo astrology into our own magical practices through season rituals and correspondences, holistic wellness, mindfulness, service, daily routines, and the small intentional choices that create meaningful change over time.
Plus, we’ll explore crystals, herbs, colors and other magical correspondences, three shadow work prompts, a spell for grounded focus, and a simple tarot or oracle practice for uncovering the details you may be overlooking.
Whether you’re a Virgo Sun, Moon, or Rising, have Virgo elsewhere in your birth chart, or simply want to understand the astrology and magic of Virgo season, come sit beneath the willow as we explore what the maiden can teach us about paying attention, refining our lives, and finding transformation in the things we do every day.
Journal Prompts:

Grimoire of the Gods: Adephagia, Goddess of Gluttony
2026/08/31
This week beneath the willow, we’re opening the Grimoire of the Gods to one of the most obscure goddesses in the Greek pantheon: Adephagia, goddess of gluttony, insatiable hunger, and perhaps something much more complicated.
With only fragments of her worship surviving, Adephagia leaves us with more questions than answers. Was she truly a goddess of excess, or did she once represent agricultural abundance, plentiful food, and the ability to eat your fill? We’ll dig into her mysterious connection to Demeter and Sicily, the destructive hunger of Erysichthon, and what the ancient Greeks may have understood about the very human desire for more.
Then we’ll bring Adephagia into modern practice through correspondences, offerings, abundance and manifestation magic, shadow work around desire and consumption, a ritual of sacred indulgence, and a delicious Sicilian orange cake.
So grab your tea, settle in, and come meet a nearly forgotten goddess

Hazel Tree Magic: Wisdom, Folklore & the Celtic Tree Calendar
2026/08/25
We’re returning to tree magic beneath the willow.
In the first installment of a new series exploring the Celtic tree calendar, we’re beginning with Hazel—a tree deeply rooted in wisdom, poetic inspiration, divination, and the mysteries of the Otherworld.
We’ll explore Hazel’s place in the modern Celtic tree calendar and Ogham, the personality of those born beneath the Hazel, the Irish legend of the Salmon of Knowledge, fairy folklore, divining rods, wishing traditions, protective magic, and the many ways Hazel has been used throughout history.
Then, in Living the Spell, we’ll bring that wisdom into our own practice with a simple spell for learning and understanding, hazelnut bread, and a magical hazelnut tea blend.
Come sit beneath the willow as we follow Hazel from root to nut, folklore to spellwork, and knowledge into wisdom.

Welcome to Signs & Stars, a brand new series beneath the willow.
We’re beginning with Leo: the bold, fiery fifth sign of the zodiac, ruled by the Sun and symbolized by the lion.
In this episode, we’re exploring what it means to be a Leo, from their confidence, creativity, loyalty, and natural magnetism to the more vulnerable side hiding beneath all that fire. We’ll trace the lion through ancient mythology, from Heracles and the Nemean Lion to Inanna, Ishtar, and Sekhmet, and explore why this animal has represented courage, protection, royalty, and solar power for thousands of years.
Then we’ll turn our attention to Leo season itself and the magic available to all of us during this warm, radiant time of year. We’ll explore solar and fire magic, Leo correspondences, creativity, confidence, shadow work, simple seasonal practices, an enchanted necklace for courage, and a candle ritual for honoring your inner light.
Whether Leo fills your birth chart or you simply want to work with the energy of the season, come sit beneath the willow as we learn what the lion can teach us about courage, creativity, pleasure, and allowing ourselves to be seen.

Full Moon Magic: The Buck Moon (Growth, Courage, and Stepping into your Power)
2026/07/28
One year ago, I nervously hit "publish" on the very first episode of Witch Beneath the Willow. Today, we're celebrating one full year, our 50th episode, and the final installment in our Full Moon Magick series.
What a beautiful moon to end on.
Known as the Buck Moon, this July full moon is named for the season when deer grow their magnificent antlers—a symbol of strength, resilience, and the quiet, steady growth that happens one day at a time. Together we'll explore the history behind this moon, its many traditional names, the folklore of the Wort Moon and Thunder Moon, old weather lore, magical correspondences, and why this year's Buck Moon in Aquarius encourages us to find strength not only within ourselves, but within our communities as well.
As we close this chapter, I also want to take a moment to celebrate what we've built together over the past year. Whether you've been here since the very first episode or you've only recently found your way beneath the willow, thank you for making this little community what it is. I truly couldn't have imagined this journey, and I'm so grateful you've chosen to walk it with me.
Journal Prompts:• What does the most confident version of yourself look and feel like?• What is one short-term goal and one long-term goal you want to focus your energy on? What practical steps can you begin taking this week to move toward them?
Thank you for joining me beneath the willow tree. I'll see you in Season Two.

Grimoire of the Gods: Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, Strategy & Sacred Craft
2026/07/21
The audio in this episode sounds a little different than usual, and I wanted to acknowledge that right away. I’m recording from my new place after my recent move, and while I was hoping this setup would work, it’s safe to say… this isn’t it. Thank you for bearing with me while I get settled—I’ll be experimenting with a different recording space for next week to get us back to the cozy sound we’re used to.
Athena is one of the most recognizable goddesses in Greek mythology, but she is so much more than simply the goddess of wisdom. She is the goddess of strategy, craftsmanship, justice, and thoughtful leadership—the calm voice that reminds us to pause before we act and to seek understanding before certainty.
In this week's Grimoire of the Gods, we're exploring Athena's remarkable birth from the mind of Zeus, her rivalry with Poseidon for the city of Athens, the tragic story of Arachne, her role in the Trojan War, and why she became the trusted guide of so many legendary heroes. We'll also talk about her symbols and correspondences, signs she may be reaching out, and practical ways to honor her in a modern witchcraft practice.
As always, we'll close with Living the Spell, where you'll find:
A ritual to invite wisdom and clarity into your lifeAn Athena-inspired herbal tea blendA crafting invocation to weave protection and intention into every stitchSo pour yourself something warm, settle in beneath the willow, and let's turn another page in our Grimoire of the Gods together.

In this episode, we're exploring the folklore and symbolism behind June's full moon, from its Indigenous roots and traditional names to its connections with love, abundance, and the fleeting joys of the season. We'll talk about the grounding influence of Capricorn, the magic of ripening, and why prosperity isn't always measured in money.
Together, we'll explore correspondences, deity associations, and simple ways to work with this moon's energy through pleasure, play, and appreciation. We'll also discuss shadow work, a honey jar for joy, and a sweet little strawberry spell inspired by love, passion, and desire.
So brew yourself a cup of tea, step outside into the summer evening, and join me beneath the willow tree as we celebrate the first full moon of summer.

Litha Magic: Honoring the Summer Solstice Through Ritual & Folklore
2026/06/16
* So sorry for my sick voice, I put off recording for as long as I could hoping my summer cold would clear up*
Step into the golden light of the Summer Solstice in this week's episode as we explore the magic, folklore, and traditions of Litha.
Together, we'll wander through the history of this midsummer sabbat, uncover myths of the Oak and Holly Kings, discuss the wild presence of the fae, and explore how cultures across the world have honored the longest day of the year. We'll also dive into Litha correspondences, solar magic, divination, healing practices, and simple ways to celebrate the season in your own life.
In the Living the Spell section, I'll guide you through creating a reusable Litha Candle for Joy, teach you how to safely make and work with solar water, and leave you with a few journal prompts to help you reflect on what has blossomed in your life so far this year.
Journal Prompts:• What has flourished in my life since the beginning of the year, and how can I honor the effort it took to cultivate it?• Where am I being invited to experience more joy instead of constantly striving for the next achievement?• As the wheel begins its gradual turn toward the darker half of the year, what wisdom or abundance do I want to carry forward with me?
Whether you're celebrating with a bonfire surrounded by loved ones, harvesting herbs from your garden, greeting the sunrise with a cup of tea in hand, or simply taking a few extra moments to appreciate the warmth of the season, I hope this episode inspires you to slow down, savor the abundance around you, and honor this beautiful turning point in the Wheel of the Year.
Blessed Litha, my loves.
