Jokes aside, it was a rough one, but we have a job to do here so Andy, Courtney and Liz got together to give a few thoughts on the team's 2-0 loss against Seattle. The Legacy are headed back to the west coast this weekend to take on the Portland Thorns and we were once again joined by Andy's friend Alex to get their thoughts on the upcoming match. If you recall, last time the Legacy played Portland, the Thorns scored three goals in like 10 minutes so here's to hoping that is part of history that does not repeat itself. Predictions! Well, the Legacy's mini win streak came to an end over the weekend as they suffered a 2-1 loss to Houston on a rainy day in Pawtucket. Andy and Courtney were joined by first time guest Maddi to discuss this hard fought match against the Dash. Legacy fans, we are coming off a HUGE win against the Spirit this past weekend and we couldnt wait to dive (pun intended) right into it. ICYMI, the Swan Dive team took a little field trip to catch the big game down in DC and it was a great time (check out IG for pics!). Andy and Courtney were joined this week by returning guest Dave (and no I do not know how many episodes this makes but he is still in 1st place). The team broke down the big win and for maybe the first time ever, had almost only positive things to say about what was an outstanding performance by the Legacy. For our Houston Dash preview we were joined by Manny from Bayou City Soccer. Its been six full months since the Legacy last played the Dash and neither lineup really looks the same. Woohoo Swan Dive listeners, the Legacy stopped their string of highly questionable, not great games with a huge 2-1 win against Utah Royals on the road and we were so excited to talk about it. The long weekend got the better of us planning wise so we had no Legacy guest this week so we had a rare Swan Dive moment where Andy and Courtney had a nice little one on one chat about all the action. Legacy fans, it was another tough one as the team fell 5-2 against Angel City Monday night. While we are going to share our thoughts as always, we also had a bit of fun as we were joined by a special guest in our Legacy fan seat. If you have ever been to a Legacy game, you have heard her voice announcing players and Legacy goals among other fun things. That's right, in our third seat we were joined by Boston Legacy Public Address announcer Ava J! Ava shared a little bit about her background and how she got involved with the Legacy as well as some of the prep that goes into what she does and favorite moments on the mic! As a Legacy fan herself, she gave her thoughts on the recent Legacy match and the upcoming fixture against the Utah Royals as well. Happy Birthday Swan Dive! This episode was recorded on July 22nd which is exactly one year after the very first episode of the podcast was released. Legacy fans, we are back with our last "special episode" before the team is finally back in action on Sunday. Obviously, we at the Swan Dive are supporters of women's sports so this episode takes a little look into the landscape of women's sports with some special guests. Our first guest Greg talked with Andy about the Boston Dream organization and how it not only interfaces with the Boston Legacy, but touched on a lot of the great things they are doing to promote leadership, development, education and opportunities to young women and girls in New England soccer community (that is just a brief summary of what Boston Dream does, listen to the episode and let Greg tell you about it himself). We then spoke with Amy (Courtney's "missed connection" from a few episodes ago), who is a Legacy season ticket holder as well as a former NCAA athlete and coach. Amy shared some of her thoughts and experiences with how the support of women's sports have changed over the years, both from the perspective of a player/coach and as a fan. We also discussed this how the landscape has changed in the NWSL itself over the years. We also discuss our latest player signing! Then, because it's finally a game week, we did a little preview of the Legacy's upcoming game against Bay FC and the predictions have returned!
