Some stories start at the beginning. This story starts with the end. As Xander's story continues on- one way or another- more of the faces that make up the story in its entirety start to appear. Some will be friends. Some will be enemies. As the story after the end continues, Xander and Rabbit find out they may not be the only survivors in Vault 63. Meanwhile, we flashback to the boys and their first meeting with "Bob" who has their first job waiting for them. Gina and Archie run into some old acquaintances from 76 on their way back home. For both parties, there are some lessons about who to trust out in the Wasteland and figuring out the variations on risk vs. reward. Tensions start to rise- both externally and among the 76ers- as Mr. Dark helps reveal some secrets that test how much Xander, Rabbit, Gina, and Archie can trust one another, despite desperate circumstances and danger closing in on every side. Continuing his story, Xander recounts how he dealt with witnessing his first death in the Wasteland with questions and frustrations abound- along with some encounters from faces from the Vault that bring him to some places he never expected. In other areas of Appalachia, Gina and Archie start making a forward plan and Bryce finds a new traveling companion in an energetic cryptid enthusiast. Picking up immediately where the previous episode ends, we now find out what ultimately happened to Xander on the way back from the Landview Lighthouse. As things unfold and night turns to day Bryce and Robin seek out Snallygasters, Trixie learns something that sounds important, and Rabbit copes with the aftermath of the night before. As light is shown on one of the stranger, more morbid truths of the dwellers of Vault 76 other mysteries are bubbling up behind the scenes, and even in the far future Mr. Dark hears a small piece of what he seems to be searching for in Xander's tale. In the future, time begins ticking away in Vault 63 as outside forces try to break their way into the Overseer’s Office where the gang has taken refuge from the electrified ghouls. As the dust settles, Mr. Dark gets a story that he may not have anticipated in his search for what he wants. As the gang tells their story, they recount a particular trip to the Vault 69 Gym. Despite some reservations, the gang has their own individual reasons for checking it out- and some of them are presented with various dangerous challenges by its proprietor: the one and only Chad Johnson. “What the hell is a Dieathalon?” That’s the question on the lips of spectators and participants alike as the spotlights shine on Chad Johnson in the mezzanine of Top of the World. Cooking isn't always easy but in the wasteland it requires a certain special something; something Xander clearly lacks. A brief back-and-forth with Archie leads the gang into an unexpected competition joined by some even less expected contestants. This is the first planned "minisode" of Appalachia: A Fallout 76 Story. For this story we take a look at something a bit less serious (but still a bit absurd.) With the holidays having taken center stage last month we wanted to give our cast a bit of a breather, so we have prepared this special story in the meantime. We are currently hard at work with episode 8 and will have that ready for release next month on our regular schedule.
